Chapter 2
"Mr. Sharma, how may I help you?" During the buffet time, Aaliya asked Zain to stay and chat with his friends while she fetches some food for the both of them. She had not yet readied herself to be a part of Zain's life. But sure, she thought this might help. This might be easy, in a matter of time. And the thought that she had a long time gave her relief. She didn't wanna lose Zain, ever. Mr. Sharma stood really close to her.
"No, Ms. Haider, I'm all right." He put his hand around her to fetch some rice from the counter next to her.
"It's Mrs. Abdullah. I'm married?" Aaliya shows him her ring, "Do you mind?"
"Oh, no. I'm sorry." He withdraws his hand but doesn't leave, still stands close to her.
"How.. How do you know my last name?"
"Uh, I have some contacts. Your father worked for me for 8 years and your mother is my wife's best friend. It's kinda close thing."
"And I should be talking to you know because..?" Aaliya felt uneasy, she wanted to leave. She wanted to leave the party and never look back to this day.
"Aaliya." She heaves a sigh of relief as Zain comes from the left, "Mr. Sharma." He nods, greeting him. He doesn't deserve one, Aaliya thought, just ignore him. Just take me with you.
"Mr. Abdullah." He greets Zain back, "I have was just having a conversation with your beautiful wife here. She's very good to know."
"I know her very well." He keeps a hand around Aaliya's waist, and for a second at least, she feels at home.
"I'm sure you do. But under the circumstances to two got married.. I'm not sure. You two should have got a choice. To chose whom you want to get married to.."
"Actually.." Zain cuts Aaliya off.
"We were getting married anyhow. Know the full story, if you are too interested to know the half of it. We were enemies since childhood. And in case you haven't heard, a known enemy is better than an unknown friend. I love Aaliya."
"You do?" Mr. Sharma said.
"Yes. Stop harassing my wife, Mr. Sharma, or I'll be the worst nightmare you've ever had."
