Chapter 3

Zain stood outside the dargah staring at the holy place in front of him. His could feel his heart wrenching as he remembers that last time that he came to visit this place. Last time he was here with Aaliya and they came here to thank the Almighty for giving them each other. Tears started to fill his eyes at the thought of how badly he wished that he could go to that time again. But no one can ever go back in life, they can only go forward but Zain refuses to go forward on his own, his wife needs to be by his side.

And so Zain went to do the wadhu just like how Aaliya had taught him. As he stepped inside the dargah, he made a silent promise to himself that if Aaliya survives then afterwards he will bring her to visit this place together again. He kneeled in front of the Baba's shrine, closed his eyes and brought his hands together to give his prayer.

"Ya Allah I have never once asked you for anything in my life because I never needed to. You have always readily gave me everything that anyone could possible ask for in life, a loving family, a lavish life, a high post job, and most important and surprising of all a beautiful wife. But today, her life is at the jaws of death. Please if you have to take something from me, then take anything else but not Aaliya. If you take her away from me, then my life will cease to exist altogether. I know I'm not your laadla like how Aaliya is your laadli, but still just this once..just this once please listen to my prayers."

Zain's prayers was halted when his phone started ringing. He picked it up and heard a breathless Fahad on the other end of the line : "Zain! The surgery is done! The doctor is saying that it was a success."

A wave of relief, happiness and gratitude washed over Zain and he couldn't help but start laughing silently with tears of happiness brimming in his eyes. Zain excitedly replied: "Really?! Ya Allah thank you! how's Aaliya..pass me to her. I want to talk to her!" The phone went silent on the other side and that was causing Zain to be nervous, he got worried that maybe he misheard Fahad or something and so Zain asked, " What? What is it Bhai? Why are you quiet? You said the surgery was successful right?!"

Fahad:" Yes I said the surgery was successful but I didn't say that Aaliya gained consciousness Zain. The doctor said that she should be recovering consciousness under 24 hours or..." Fahad didn't need to complete his sentence as they all know the drill perfectly since it just happened with Usman.

Which reminded Zain that his father needed his prayer as well and so he requested Allah to give him back his father as well not just for him this time but for Aaliya as well since Usman was just as important of a figure in Aaliya's life. Zain got a taveez for each of them and went back to the hospital as fast as he could.

Five hours had passed and Aaliya was still unconscious. Shazia and Nafeesa had went back home as they had to look after the kids and take care of the house. Surraiya had left as well and none of them were surprised that she was actually going to visit Bobby at the police station.

Surraiya came to the police station because even though her heart still wouldn't accept that Barkat is in fact Bobby, she couldn't ignore her family's feelings anymore. And so she actually came to get a hair sample of Barkat/Bobby so that she would finally know for real whether or not this girl is her Barkat or not.

As Surraiya approached the cell where Barkat was being held, she recognized Barkat who was sitting facing backwards. Surraiya was about to go talk to her when she saw a girl in dirty rags approach Barkat and smirk at her: "What are you doing here Bobby? What is this? The 8th time you came to jail?".

Bobby fumed: " Shut up!"

But the girl wasn't about to back down and so she continued: "I thought you said that you were never going to come here again! That you found such a big fish that is not just rich but highly influenced in the society that no one would be able to touch you! What happened? haha looks like for the first time the fish was able to slip from Bobby's fingers"

Bobby couldn't take it anymore and shouted: "I Said Shut UP! Can't you just keep your trap shut? As for that fish, who said that it slipped from my fingers. Bobby Mir Khan never loses and just watch this isn't over yet. As long as Surraiya still has some motherly feelings left for me, then my plan is still working. Now you better stay quiet or I'll make you!!" With that the girl shrunk back to her corner of the cell silently. Surraiya quietly just left from there with Bobby's words still echoing in her head.

Back at the hospital, the nurse came to Zain who was sitting on the chair and staring off into space. The happy smile of the Nurse's face made Zain hopeful that he was going to finally hear the news that Aaliya woke up.

Nurse: "Mr Abdullah, your father Mr Usman Abdullah gained consciousness!"

Now Zain and Fahad wasn't expecting this news at all, they didn't even know how to react. They were speechless.

Zain:" What? What did you say..Dad?"

Nurse:" Yes your dad recovered! you can both go meet him right now if you want"

Zain and Fahad hugged each other and cried in each other's arm as they had believed that their was no hope left for their father when he slipped into coma. But Zain's happiness was shortlived. He was worried now..how was he going to face Usman? How is he suppose to tell him about what happened with Aaliya and the condition that she is right now.
