The lady sighed as she looked at the pompous welcome being given to the guests from her palace balcony; her eyes searching for someone. Admist the cheers of the people below and the shower of the flowers, her eyes caught a pair of deep intoxicating eyes. She held the gaze for a moment and then looked away not able to bear the intensity.
"Your highness, the king awaits your arrival." The maid said with hesitance, breaking into her thoughts. The lady nodded and beckoned her to leave. Sparing a last glance at the proceedings going on below, she made her way down the stairs, in the most graceful manner possible. Many slaves came alive from the shadows and resumed their place, behind the princess, for her protection.
The lady made her way through the gardens, which were made to suit her taste, to the court where the proceedings of the day where to be held and where her father called upon his favorite daughter to be. As she made her way, something in her mind made her lips curl up into an evil sardonic smile. Anyone looking at the princess could tell that someone or something had got on her wrong side and, well, his/her future seemed bleak. Her laughter rang through the mild breeze of the morning hours but it was not pleasure to the ears for it held the soundless anger and sadism one could fathom.
As her highness princess Aliya Gulam Haider, the un - pronounced heir to the throne of Devgarh and the apple of her father's eyes, made her way up the stairs leading to the palatial building where the court was held, the gate man announced her arrival and everyone including the king got up in reverend respect for the princess. She made her way to the grand throne erected behind the curtains of the elevated platform, with her chest swelling with pride. The throne had been made from the finest cotton found in the kingdom and the best silk was bought in from the distant lands to adorn it. Emeralds, the favorite gem of her majesty were studded into the hand rests of the chair which held more respect than the king's throne for everyone knew even if they didn't speak that the princess actually ruled for she had the ears of the king.
Aliya looked up at the subjects below her and she smiled in contentment and slowly her smile turned into a mirthful smirk. But soon her features again rested into that smile that could make anyone burst with warmth.
"This is my game and I have beaten everyone at it. It's your turn now, Yuvraaj Zain Usman Abdullah, to face defeat. And yes, I will make sure that defeat is all you will get from her highness Princess Aliya Gulam Haider. The game begins now ... and I am the mastermind." She sneered and laughed in her mind at her thoughts as she declared war.
