Yes...People keep their doors open to welcome Goddess Laxmi on Diwali day...She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity...
Every family has an Isht dev (favorite god) because Hindu Culture has many gods and goddesses..

Many shows dont celebrate any festivals...its just that in India Diwali and Holi are so big...that people start wondering why it was not celebrates...Its not very different from the thought 'It is winter here...why are they not wearing sweaters"...similarly sab mana rahe hain Holi/Diwali toh yeh sab kyu nahi😆

I don't think there is any double standards to it. India is a secular state but 70-80% comprises of just Hindus so we see things to which majority of viewers can relate. And besides Holi/ Diwali are religious festivals bt religious customs n regulations are less in compare to Muslim festivals and a prime reason for not celebrating is coz of animal sacrifise, its prohibited in holy books but you do see celebrations in shows like Tarak Mehta, they hv always showed celebration of eid in the show. And another reason is following the league, thr r much more festivals in India both from religious and culture views but you will never see all different culture people celebrating them. Kali Puja is never observd in ppl outside Bengal, Assam, Orrisa etc same way Diwali and Holi is played lavishly mostly for people in U.P, Punjab etc

And its not any discrimination to Islamic culture, its more or less like following the trend. In Indian shows you rarely see a family backdrop outside Bengali, Gujrati and Punjabi, its only now that people are trying exploring various cultures.

Regarding Holi celebration in colors, I guess its a way to promote Beintehaa but I'll res my comment till actual episode. Yea, celebration of dfrnt religion festivals is against Islam but when have shows followed the usual customs and norms. They alter to satisy the story and get ratings and its not with Islam only but Hinduism too. Celebration of Holi has been reduced to a romantic festival which is nt the case. I see non hindus saying tha in Holi things happen which are against Islam but its not the case, the way non Muslims hv nt much knwledge n gain what they see frm shows same is the case for non hindus. Holi is not atall a festival how people shows to glamourise and in name of fun and modernisation.

Oh, yes. They won't be able to show it for long. I remember in QH, they showed it for a while and then they were back to deserts, singing, dancing, plotting against one another 😆 So, it is hard to weave in Ramadan, but I would like to see them celebrate the 1 day of Eid. It's okay, now that Muslim dramas have picked up popularity, one day the festivals will also be shown in other shows :)

Ohh, I thought you meant that we hate you guys so don't allow you lol and I was just making sure you know that's not the case, But gotcha now!! Yeahh, wish more dramas like Tarak Mehta had a mix of characters from different backgrounds. Having grown up in America, I love melting pots lol.

Yep...the real Holi is played with flowers...but people play it with eggs and permanent colours, glitter and all that shit...Its annoying...I have not played Holi since over 10 years now...I hide inside my room on that day😆

Also totally agree about the majority of population in India being Hindus...Just like Pakistani shows do not show Holi/Diwali...
While we are at Paki shows...have any of you seen 'Sunn Leyna' with Rajeev-Amna...it was super cute...haha...I saw it in really bad print on Youtube...

My fav is 'Humsafar'..I tried watching that 'Dolly ki shadi' series with Humsafar actress...but it didnt hold my interest so I stopped midway😆

Omgeee nooo😆
Infact one of my best friends is a Muslim...and I keep telling her how much I love her name 'Nabila'😆...I call her 'Nabila-Kabila'😆

I am waiting for her shaadi to give Mubaarak to all when she says 'Qubool Hai'...like in K3G...Kajol does...yayy...Qubool hai😆

Infact I will even celebrate Hannukah, Halloween and all if I get to...haha...

I do think Holi and Diwali have become more like theme festivals...like Halloween😆...only films and tv ppl celebrate these festivals with so much happiness...Normally no one is that over-excited about it...except that we get national holidays...thats the best part of festivals😆..

Damn i just love u all guys..I want to personally meet all BI members...Lolz lets hv a union nd reach BI Sets to meet HarshIka... 😆

Hahah! It's not that hard once you get used to it. I am doing it since I was 9, but my Mom used to make me do so-called " half day " fasts 😆 which are not real fasts but she tricked me into believing that it is real so I used to get all proud of myself. So , yeah, gradually you get used to it. No, No, you can swallow saliva as long as theres no water in your mouth from anywhere...like from rain or from performing wudhu ( the washing face and purifying yourself before namaz).

You're welcome, they will be your lucky charm!! ! Hahahha!! Yeah, we should all go jump on them and hug them together. It will happen some day, lets wish for it :)

I would say it would be better if you don't learn any religious knowledge from the show...you can ask any of the Muslims on the forum...we all can happily answer 😊 ...the show usually don't live upto the expectations and show some nuisance...you'll just get wrong information.

LOLL! that' so true!! I hate how they don't wanna be linked 😆 I mean c'mon they are so cute together, but it calmed my nerves to see that Harshad can be quite a flirt offscreen loll :P

You were talking about some dramas in the previous post. Rajeev and Aamna did a paki soap ? Didn't know about it ..will check it out. Dolly Ki shaadi mein Humsafar lead as in the negative character right? I liked Zindagi Gulzar Hai a lott, you should really watch it if you get the time. And Mohabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai is also going good although the girl is annoying 😆 Like she is unbelievably innocent lol!
