Okay, so brace yourself. This is going to be a long post.
So first and foremost, before I forget, brilliant post Shaz 👏
As you said, this episode belonged to Zain. Uske pehle wala part gaya bhaad mein. For me, the episode began when Aliya called Zain.
We had been cursing the CVs itne din se that Zain has become Suraiya ka puppet and isn't doing anything against Aliya except for shouting at her but the CVs came back with a bang. I always thought ki his hatred is justified because he doesn't hate her because he thinks all women are cheats or gold diggers nor does he believe that there is no love in the world and he wants to be alone all his life and Aliya took away his freedom. It was for a simple yet very effective reason. It was because she took his darling, his dad away (in his mind) and chose Aliya over his laal. He got slapped for the first time in his life and also was shouted on for no mistake of his so yes, it's fine that he hates her. Why I didn't like the previous episodes was it was all about the 3 witches but today, it came back to ZaYa and the original theme, which is the love and hate ke extremes between ZAYA.
Sequence kya, for me, the episode began when Aliya called Zain. At first, Zain went back to the one in Bhopal, the caring frenemy and he was ready to help her but then came the one word he didn't want to be. Her HUSBAND. I'm so glad they put that in. The change in his expression was so swift that it could have gone unnoticed. Today was the Zain Abdullah behind that happy facade he was putting up in front of his dad.
That 'husband' changed the whole dynamic of the episode and the story too because we'll now get the full-blown hatred. And I have to agree, Harshad was definitely at his best yesterday. He did with so much finesse that I cringed while watching that scene. It felt as if he was talking right in front of me. It was that good! And after sequences like the nikkah one and the hug, this wasn't something new in the industry but man did he pull it off!
The character development they showed today in that ten minutes was so much more effective than the one they showed throughout. Zain, as a character was lifted up to a whole new level with the dialogues and the whole script of the episode. From a sly person who hid his feelings from his dad, the outburst today simply did wonders, I must say.
When Zain came in, I thought ki ab toh yeh pitega but the way he spoke, I was left awestruck and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen throughout. I was writing my practical and I kept it aside because I couldn't concentrate 😆
Aaj ka har dialogue had a hidden meaning and an underlying feeling. Be it regret shown in his 'Aap apni bhaanji ke khilaaf kuch sun nahi sakte' or the hurt child inside him with the lollipop choice wala. Aaj Zain didn't hold back at all, he burst out in full force leaving everyone shell-shocked.
I'm guessing that his breaking point is when Osman told him that he'll realize this is the girl for him and he gives that sarcastic laugh. He simply couldn't believe that even after he told everything, Osman was still choosing Aliya over him. Suraiya has nothing over Osman when coming to making Zain hate Aliya. Simple as that. She showed Aliya in the wrong light and that she was insulting the khandaan but for Zain, that breaking of trust hurt him a lot more than the plans ever could!
Let me be honest, I didn't find his acting that good when I saw it in the precap, it didn't leave much of an impact on me. But in the actual episode, when he came in with those bloodshot eyes, I knew I was in it for the long haul. His eyes spoke a thousand words. It was like a completely different actor came out!
' When he fell down on the ground & looked around like a lost boy, when Usman said Aliya was right for him & burst out laughing bitterly at the fact that his dad trusted Aliya more than him & of course...that last shot at the end where he looks at Aliya with pure hatred...ufff'

Coming to your fangirl moment, OHEMGEE! I was drooling at Harshad in that suit! He looked so much hotter than usual. I kept imagining him taking his coat off and then, if you know what I mean ;)
