Chapter 2 : Page 8

Chapter 3:

Zain's eyes widened when he realized that Aalia's drink was spiked, he was rushing to smack that drink of his hand, when Aalia came in took the glass out of his hands and quietly kept it on the table beside.

Nazim acted confused as to why Aalia put it aside, just to make sure he doesn't appear fishy. But Aalia was Aalia, it didn't take her one second to realize that her drink had been tampered with. So she confidently kept the glass aside.

"Wow, Nazim, didn't know that this side of you existed as well..." She crossed her arms across her chest.

"Shit! She's seen it!" Nazim internally cursed himself.

"You think, I won't see you and you can nicely spike my drink and take me to bed?" She maintained a bold voice. "How come I didn't see who you actually were in these three months? And to think that I was your best friend!" Aalia's voice got really high now.

"Listen okay, it was just under peer pressure. Everybody had a girlfriend, and they thought I was incapable of getting one. I asked you politely but you blatantly refused! What else could I do? I don't want to become a social joke! I couldn't lose my only chance, could I? And I never looked at you that way, I only spiked your drink to make you believe that something happened between us and you would be my girlfriend, but I guess you wouldn't, I don't think it would be you if you became my girlfriend just because I made you believe that something happened between us." Nazim was almost in the verge of tears now.

"Listen Nazim, relationships are not made because you have to make them or due to, as you call it, "peer pressure". I think if you genuinely like someone, only then should you go ahead and not because of what your friends say. In fact I think not one of them likes his girlfriend, it's just because of peer pressure, just like you, and obviously, the relation has to break, if not today then tomorrow, such relationships that are forced never work Nazim, just remember that."

Hearing that, Zain nodded to himself, awed at the maturity she held. "Yup, you better believe her, she's talking with experience, you go girl!"

"It's all easy to say Aalia, but I guess I get your point, I don't think until I feel like marrying someone, I won't get into a relationship..." said a wiser Nazim. "Anyway, let's just be friends please...??"

"Okay, but no hitting on me again, okay?"

"Yes ma'am!" Nazim mock saluted.

Zain was standing there as though he was a spectator of this whole thing, never had he been ignored to this extent in his life.

"Oh Zain! What's up??" Aalia broke him out of his revere.

"Huh?" was all Zain could manage, his mind was in a location 20 light years away. Plus, he was too busy gawking at Aalia. "ZAIN!! ZAIN!! Come out of it already!! ZAIN!! She's finally giving you attention! Snap out of it!!" His brain was sending him signals like crazy but he chose to ignore them.

"What are you doing here? I believe you came running..."

"Uhh..I was just dancing...and then I-I-wanted a drink... I-guess...so.." He got out of his gawking session.

"Okay, that's why you were running as though your pants were on fire..." She tapped her chin with her finger.

"Huh...no...actually I-I-had to go to the toilet...uhhh see you guys" Saying this, Zain ran off in the direction of the washroom. He just could not digest the fact such an opportunity to save a girl, that too Aalia, just slipped off his hands.

"You know Zain?" Nazim asked

"Uhh...yeah" Aalia was unsure what to say next.

"How?? Dude! That's the most popular guy in town!!" exclaimed Nazim

"Uhh...we just had an encounter a couple of days back. And he started flirting like it was the most natural thing to do.." Aalia had a thousand things running in her mind now, worried what if her friends knew about her nikaah with Zain.

"I've never seen Zain like this before...he was acting so weird, don't you think?"

"When was he not weird, you tell me that."

They went off the place with Nazim scratching his head behind Aalia.

"Only Aalia can be friends again with a guy who spiked her drink" Zain said to himself watching her amusedly as she walked to the dance floor for another peppy number.

Next day at work:

"Waah! Waah! Aalia, three months in office and you get a promotion??" Nazim exclaimed, running to her and panting, very much out of breath.

"Haha! Really funny Nazim, no really, your idea of a joke goes even beyond me!"

"Nooo!! You're getting it wrong!! You actually are getting promoted! It helps to check your email once in a while, you idiot!"

"Wait a second! If it's not true, I'll spank your ass, I'm not kidding!" Aalia's eyes grew wider and wider until they were about to pop when she checked her inbox. "What the hell! How is it even possible?"

"It is, and you better shut up and accept it without any hassle, knowing you, I think you will definitely go and have an argument with boss!"

"Shut up Nazim! What I don't get is that I've barely been working here for three months and I get promoted while you guys who have been working here for around 2 years haven't, something smells fishy Nazim, I'm telling you! I don't want any favoritism going around okay!"

Inside Boss's office:

"Boss! Boss! What the hell is this??" Aalia shared a friendly repertoire with her boss, Derick.

"No kidding, Aalia, it was meant to be from day one itself."

"But I don't get why I get promoted instead of people who have been working in this place for almost years now!"

"Well, that's because you work hard, unlike people who are just here because of the incentives..."

"Yeahhh...that's true too, I mean not me working hard, but them being here just for benefits...You know what Boss? I want to take this company to a whole new level...like even better from now, something equivalent to a Fortune 500 company...I feel the architecture is too boring, don't you think, and the financial model has to definitely be revamped, I'm just saying what is in my knowledge of course."

"Hmmm...interesting..." Derick had thoughts running in his mind.

"Okay, now since your position has been changed, your cabin will be too. Ramu...take her to her new cabin." Derick talked business now.

"Thanks Boss!" She mock saluted.

"Wait!"

"What?" She turned

"Now that I remember that you have a degree in finance as well, you have to help the finance department to rebuild the financial model, and it's an order!" Derick thought she was going to retaliate, but surprisingly she agreed.

"Okay!" "Anything to keep me busy." she thought. "But I am going to get extra pay right?"

"Yup! And listen, we have a meeting with a very important client of ours tomorrow, I'll kill you if you miss it because there are chances that we might lose this contract with them!"

"Okay sure." Saying that, she walked out of the cabin, happy because of the fact that she at least has something to put her brain at, other than in architecture. She definitely hated to remain idle. And according to her, there was too much free time at home.

Meanwhile, our hero, Zain Abdullah was eagerly waiting at the airport for Leah, the girlfriend whom he was head over heels in love with, or atleast he thought he so.

"Hey babe!", Leah exclaimed in her thick British accent as she wound her arms around him at the arrivals.

"Hi baby! I missed you!"

"I know, me too! I missed you so much, like I went crazy! What did you do when I was gone?"

"Nothing much, just chilled with friends at this new place."

"Oh cool! You didn't hook up with any other girl in my absence, did you?"

"Of course not baby, why did you think I would do that?" And then, for some reason, his mind wandered off to the incident that occurred in Blue Lagoon. He spanked himself. "Why am I even thinking about it? So annoying that it's in my thoughts all the while nowadays!"

"Just kidding Zain." She let out a small laugh. "Anyway, can you just drop me at the hotel for now?"

"Sure!"

Leah got off the car and was about to go her way when she heard Zain.

"Baby?"

"Yeah Zain?"

"I love you."

"Aww! I love you too honey! Don't miss me too much, yeah? I'll see you in the evening!" She pulled Zain's cheeks and pecked him lightly, and walked away, looking back and grinning at him.

"I love you too!" He whispered in a dreamy state and he caressed his own cheek where she pecked him.

Don't hit me! But I'm back, I know y'all are happy! (Just kidding! I hope you are though! You know I typed kissing instead of kidding the first time...okay I gotta stop!)

I know, I know, there weren't any ZaYa scenes till now, becauseee...well, because I, like a stupid got them divorced in the first chapter itself without knowing what to do next.

But I hope you liked the update! (I can hope, can't I? 😃)Thank you to everyone who commented! Special thanks to Javeria, Kyara and Akki. I love your comments guys! If you guys didn't like any part of it, or are seriously offended by anything, please do tell me, I will attend to the matter personally. 😆

Just one question, people in the actual series do realise that if relatives are married then there are around 5-6% chances that the child can be mentally or physically handicapped, don't they? Anyway, it's just my opinion and people are entitled to their own opinion according to the Fundamental Rights of India, and Fundamental Rights cannot be denied, according to the Fundamental Rights of India. 😆

And since they live in Mumbai, which is a part of India, I guess..., I think the Fundamental Rights apply to them as well.

And most importantly, please, please, please, do state it very loud and clear of you do not want PMs, (Hehe I typed PMS! Okay I gotta stop!) because I kind of tend to spread the word around without any limitations whatsoever. I won't get offended, don't worry, I genuinely understand if you don't want PMs. (Again, PMS, Lordy what is happening to my typing...😕)
