not all
Muslims cover their hair. It's a choice.

Totally agree with you dowry is haram and shouldn't be asked for but mahr is compulsory for it is the right of the woman. Gold is also another thing that's forbidden and I've seen some posts where people misunderstand a lot of things.

No it is not okay for a woman to show her body. Why do people think if they pray to Allah then everything will be okay and they can do what they like if that's the case why don't they do everything else that's forbidden?

^aree.. dont misunderstand me..people in any religion have freedom to not to practice what they supposed to do.. but being a channels first show in a differnt religion, they should hav done some home work on it and show what the real muslim culture is rather than what modern mixing up is...now people have difficult to digest the cultural background they show in serial..not only in beintehaan.. majority of hindi films and television show like this only...
apart from that the show is too good..esp the leads and their chemistry.. i wish CV's take care of this matter too..they this would be the best :)

correct me if m wrong

I do not know if this has been answered..

There is a difference between demanding and gifting

Dowry is something that is demanded by the guys side asking the girls to bring..

It is permissible to gift things out to their daughters by parents on their own will

My issue with the show is more about the conflict that is depicted in the conceptualisation of the characters and plot juxtaposed against the Islamic backdrop.
Had the show been advertised as a rom-com or a love story only, the deviation from Islamic practices might have been justified in some way. But when you promote your show as a Muslim social with the female lead leaning more towards the religion, a thorough research on the subject becomes a must. Otherwise it becomes confusing as to what actually the creators want to show, gives rise to misconceptions and the storyline shows a lack of authenticity.
Muslim customs are not only about namaz and sheer khurma.

Well then in Islam girls are suppose to cover their hair and wear hijab. But obviously Aliya is not wearing hijab. It's just a tv show don't take everything to seriously. Also we have seen Aliya and zain dance with each other and again they will be dancing with each other in sangeeth episode and in Islam Mixed dance is harm unless you are married to that person. And zain and Aliya are not married. But still us Muslims we do mixed dance. No one is perfect! And this is just a show. So why are you not saying anything about the dance then!?

everytime i hear that itsa drama! ur religion is being shown the way its not, u r not affected! but i do feel offended, cuz its not the way they are portraying!
i dont know where are u from! u have a misconception abt clothing, if it didnt make any difference then Allah must havd never ordered to cover yourself! what u want to do is ur own choice! but atleast see what is ur religion, what others are portraying abt it!
agree abt ur dance thing!! but we don't follow these mix dances n all..!! its considered as a thing of harm for girls!!

Being modern is fine, just as long as you keep a balance between deen and duniya. However, when one starts to loose that balance in leniency that is when the problem starts. And, you can't be praying namaz at one end and on the other be wearing short clothes. That is hypocrisy.
Why pray at all then? They shouldn't have shown her praying at all, then I wouldn't have said anything against her... Islam is very rigid when it comes to certain things and women though they have been given a lot of rights, but they are asked to preserve their modesty, that is very integral part of the religion.

Creative liberty, sure, but to what extent? Don't you think there should be a line drawn somewhere? I haven't even yet pointed out about Aaliya and Zain's dance which is completely forbidden in Islam, to be be at such close proximity with a na-mehram( someone who isn't your husband) is a strict NO. Sadly they have not shown any Islam customs here and that is what irks me a lot, There is always a misrepresentation about Islam in the media and they are doing the same. It is fiction I agree, but it still comes with a few responsibilities especially when it is open to the public.

@bold: Sorry hun, but I don't agree with you at that part. We should pray no matter how much we sin. If we lose our prayers, we lose everything else in this world.

& Allah tells us clearly to strictly guard our prayers.

Though I agree with you, I think you must have misread my intention. Yes, you are right Allah knows whats in our hearts but still there are some conditions that must be fulfilled otherwise we are wasting our time. Did u ever considered to perform namaz without ablution(Wuzu), thinking that Allah sees our hearts and namaz has no concern with it?

In the end, I am no one to judge, Allah SWT knows best. Namaz is in the realm of Haqooq-Allah SWT, and thus, it is strictly between me and Allah SWT. It is up to no man and no woman to figure out if my prayers were accepted or not. Only Allah SWT knows best.
I was wrong in saying that, thank you for pointing it out.
