Chapter -23

Anuj headed towards him and asked, "What are you doing here Chandrachur Dada?!" "It's none of your business! Shoo away!" "Why?! What's so secretive that you don't want to tell me?!" asked Anuj after which Chandrachur angrily pushed him down and glared at him, "Stay quiet boy! Or I will do something to you that you will later regret!". Anuj just stood behind him as he saw him entering with his suspicious eyes, "Something is not right here! I feel that Chandrachur Dada has something evil in his mind! I-I should go and come back with Shekhar Dada!" he decided after which he ran away.

Bondita kept a bowl of food beside after heating it and suddenly felt someone standing behind her, she turned around to see Chandrachur grinning at her, she got up and asked him as she frowned at him, "What are you doing here Chandrachur Dada?" "Well now you don't need to call me Dada Bondita!" "Why?!" "Because, from today's night I will become your husband!" "What do you mean by this?!" "C'mon Bondita! I know that you understand everything well! If you want to listen from my mouth only then okay! This night I will marry you and take you with me as my wife!" "Well this is not possible" "Why?!" "Because a brother and a sister can never marry each other and I have already considered you as my brother! But looks like you want to be nothing to me!" "How many times do I have to tell you Bondita that I don't consider you as my sister? You have to accept this fact or it will be too late!" replied Chandrachur with a forced smile, "If this was a real fact then also I would have never accepted it for I know who you really are!" replied Bondita coldly which grew Chandrachur impatient, "Don't be so silly Bondita! You don't have your parents with you when you actually need their love! Atleast by marrying me you will be rich, also my parents will love you! Can't you see the advantage?!" "When I already have everything why do I need anything from you?! I have my brother, my sister, my aunt, my grandmother and also my friends Anuj and Birristra Babu! When I have them I don't need anyone else! So I am happy with what I have!" "Why do you not stop yourself from going to that Barrister?! What if he stabs you back?!" "He is not like you, he is a genuine man, not a fake person like you!" "Why do you think this?!" "Because my heart says so!" "I wish your heart said something good about me! I tried my best to kill that Barrister by drowning him but his luck!" "You yourself do a wrong thing and expect to be treated like a God?! You deserve this only!" "Enough! Now you won't say anything! Yes! I am bad! And that's why you have given me no choice rather than forcing you!" he said as he closed the door from behind angrily and headed towards her. Bondita stood still at her place, "I have to save myself anyhow!" she thought as she frowned at him.

"Huh...finally I have finished typing my documents! I should take some break now! What will Bondita be doing now?! I should go to check there if she needs my help or not!" said Anirudh with a smile as he stretched his arms and headed towards her home after arranging his documents aside on his study table.

"Mauri! That man needs two big fish! Quickly give him!" "Yes Dada!" replied Mauri as she filled a bag with the fish, "Shekhar Dada! Mauri!" shouted Anuj as he reached to them and took deep breaths, "Relax yourself Anuj! What happened?! Why do you look in such a hurry?!" "I have to look like that! Ch-Chandrachur Dada went to meet Bondita but I feel his intentions to be malicious! We should go Dada!" "Ok ok! Mauri! Look after the shop! I will return back after sometime!" "No Dada! I will also go with you!" "Then who will look after the shop?!" "For me my Didi is more important than the shop! We have to quickly reach there!" said Mauri after which three of them nodded and ran towards their house.

Just as Anirudh reached near the pond he spotted Bondita's siblings and friend running towards her home, "Why do they look in such a hurry?! Did anything happen to Bondita?! I should follow them!" decided Anirudh after which he ran behind them and asked, "Why you three are looking so worried?!" "Oh! Bondita's Birristra Babu! We also need your help!" "Okay but what happened?!" "Bondita is surely in danger as Chandrachur has entered her house with malicious intentions!" replied Anuj which grew a dangerous fire in Anirudh's eyes resulting him to run even faster, "THAT CHANDRACHUR!!! BONDITA I AM COMING TO YOU!!!".

"Don't come near me or this will cost you a lot!" said Bondita as she looked at him with cold expression, "Oh! You will glare at me now?! Don't worry! I have made myself stronger for that! Your glares won't work upon me!" replied Chandrachur with a smirk as he continued to approach her. Bondita quickly looked around and noticed a knife lying on the floor, she quickly bent to pick it up and pointed it towards him while maintaining her cold expression, "I am warning you again! Leave from here or you will regret it!" "I have longed for you so much Bondita, now I won't leave you! Now you will always be mine!" he said as he grabbed her fists tightly with a smirk, "No one will be able to help you as they fear my father! Also my father is with me so no way!". Bondita closed her eyes and clenched her fists tightly as if a certain strength was building inside her and just as she opened her eyes she twisted her hands vigorously making them free from his grip. She harshly stamped his feet making him wince in pain, "AAH!" he shouted after which he lost his balance and fell on the ground. Just as Bondita tried to pass by him he grabbed her foot and said, "I won't let you go! I won't!". This grew Bondita more angry and she stabbed his wrist hard after which she got free from him yet again and opened the door, she pulled him outside by his back collar and pushed him on the ground as she kept her foot on his chest, "Never mistake me to be weak! I do look soft but only from outside!" she replied as she gave him death glares which were more scarier than before.

Anirudh reached the place and witnessed everything, "Bondita..." he murmured as he was left amazed yet again, he quickly smiled and clapped for her. Bondita noticed him clapping and left Chandrachur lying on the ground, "What are you doing here Birristra Babu?" she asked him in a normal tone, "As I was coming to see if you were okay I met your siblings and friend in between, they told me that you were in trouble that's why I reached here quickly! But seems like you don't need anyone else to protect you! You are really strong!" "Hmm" replied Bondita leaving Anirudh confused, "Doesn't Bondita like appreciation?", he thought.

"Bondita Didi!!" shouted Mauri as she came running with Shekhar and Anuj, "Are you okay Bondita?" "I told you to lock the door from inside! Why didn't you do it?!" asked Shekhar sternly, "I didn't want to, I would have felt suffocated Dada!" replied Bondita as she pouted, "But the windows were left open!" "The smoke was escaping out of the windows so do you think the fresh air could enter from those?! That's why I kept the door open!" replied Bondita to which Shekhar facepalmed leaving Anirudh chuckled. They turned around and couldn't find Chandrachur, "He ran away!" "That coward!" shouted Mauri as she laughed, "Hmm, but he will surely return with his guards!" replied Bondita seriously, "You are right Bondita!" replied Chandrachur which made them turn towards him.

They saw his wrist bandaged and his guards standing beside him, his father was also standing beside him, "Maa, why did you hurt Chandrachur? He was just trying to help you" "No Kaka! He entered my house without my permission and when I denied to marry him he tried to force me! That's why I hurt him!" "But why Maa? You have no parents with you so won't this be good if you marry him and live with us? We will also treat you like a Queen!" "Sorry Kaka! But I don't want to marry a scoundrel like him!" "Please agree to this marriage Maa! Or he will give his life!" "I don't care! If he wants to die then let him! Atleast people will get saved from this scoundrel!" "You are a grown up but still you don't understand that child marriage is wrong?!" asked Anirudh as he frowned at him, "What's wrong with child marriage?! Everyone here follows that and I just want good for her!" "You can do good for her by keeping your son away from him! He is the biggest danger for her! Bondita won't marry anyone!" "Now I am losing my patience! Maa! You have to marry my son!" "No I won't!" shouted Bondita as Anirudh held her hand tightly and they stepped back, "Hold her!" ordered Chandrachur's father after which his guards headed towards them, "Stop there only!" shouted a voice which made the guards stop at their places and everyone turned to see an old lady and many villagers behind her who were holding flame torches in their hands.

Chapter-24

"Stop there only!" shouted a voice which made the guards stop at their places and everyone turned to see an old lady and many villagers behind her who were holding flame torches in their hands. Bondita's eyes glowed and she happily shouted, "Dida! You are here to save us?!" "Yes Bondita! No one will be able to marry you by forcing you!" "Oh, so you are trying to go against my order?! Don't you know that you all will be prohibited from fishing later?!" asked Chandrachur's father as he frowned at them, "We don't fear your threat! And we won't go from here!" shouted a man, "How did you all agreed to stand for her?! Earlier you all didn't want to come forward?!" "Yes! We did fear your threat earlier! But we can't let any injustice happen here!" replied their grandmother fearlessly.

Flashback:

"Anuj told me that Maa is in trouble! I have to take everyone with me!" decided Bondita's grandmother as she came outside, "Listen everyone! We have to quickly protect our Maa! Quickly arm yourself!" "We can't..." "Why?!" "If we try to help Bondita then we will be prohibited from fishing! We can't atleast risk our jobs for a her!" "Have you all lost your minds?! Maa did so much from you all and this is what you are doing to her?! She always helped you when you all had several problems! She also spoke for us when our Zamindar Babu didn't provide us enough facilities! If you don't stand for her then the guilt of not saving a her will always remain in your hearts! Ok then! I am going alone only!" she replied as she turned to go but stopped when she heard, "Wait! We have decided that we will save Bondita! Everyone take flame torches with you!" shouted a man after which the men made flame torches for themselves while the women armed themselves with their steel utensils. Everyone smiled at each other and headed towards Bondita's house.

"WE ARE HERE TO SAVE HER! SURROUND THEM!" shouted a man after which the villagers headed towards Chandrachur and his father, "YOU FIVE RUN AWAY! QUICKLY!" shouted their grandmother after which Anirudh held Bondita's hand and he ran away with her while her siblings and friend Anuj followed her, "DON'T LET THEM RUN AWAY! YOU ALL FOLLOW THEM!!" ordered Chandrachur's father after which his some guards followed them.

"Now what will we do Baba?" asked Chandrachur sadly, "Don't worry my son! Today you will definitely marry Bondita! Our guards have gone behind them to catch them!" said his father with a smirk.

"B-Birristra Babu, where should we go now?!" "Let's just run Bondita! Anywhere but away from them!" "THEY ARE THERE!! QUICKLY FOLLOW THEM!!" shouted one of the guards after which they all ran behind them, "I am not able to run anymore..." said Mauri as she took deep breaths, "We have no choice left Mauri! Come quickly!" said Shekhar as he held her hand and ran even faster, "I have an idea! Let's misguide them!" replied Anuj with a smile, "Yes! Let's enter that heavy forested area! Birristra Babu! Towards that direction!" said Bondita as she pointed towards a dark forest, "Okay Bondita!" agreed Anirudh as he held her hand tightly and they all entered the forest.

The guards first stopped for sometime as they were quite scared to enter such dark forest, by gathering some courage they all entered the forest and looked around, "Where did they all go?!" "Don't leave your hopes! We will surely catch them" they said as they then ran in different directions.

"Are we safe here Didi?" "Don't know Mauri but for the time being we have to hide in this darkness!" whispered Bondita as they remained hidden behind the exposed roots of the Banyan tree, "Oh, I can hear them shouting! They are moving away from here! Should we go outside?" asked Anuj in a low voice, "We should take some rest here! Then we will move out!" replied Anirudh, "I can hear some sounds of the wild animals! We have to quickly move out from here!" said Shekhar sounding more concerned.

When they felt that they were safe by then they came outside and quietly headed outside of the forest. Finally after reaching outside they noticed their grandmother standing outside with a grin, "Dida!" exclaimed Bondita with a smile after which she ran to hug her.

As the clouds kept moving infront of the moon Sampoorna sat infront of the window beholding the sky, she smiled at the shining stars and started humming a sweet melody. Just as Saurabh entered the room he noticed this and soon a smiled appeared on his face, he sat close to her and kept gazing at her with love, "Hmm..hmm..hmm! You are here?!" asked Sampoorna as she noticed her husband looking towards her, "Can I also listen to what you were singing Sampoorna? Please!" "I...I don't know if you will like it...." "Just sing from your heart! I have to say you have such a sweet voice!" complimented Saurabh making Sampoorna blush. She nodded her head and sang, "Hariye gechhi, poth dekhiye dao, amare Shri Krishno! Tomar bashir modhur gaan shune amar praan hoye jaye shontushto..hmm..(I am lost, show me a path, Shri Krishna! After listening to your flute's sweet music my soul gets satisfied...Hmm..)" "Opurbo! (Wonderful!) You sing really good Sampoorna! I closed my eyes to feel your singing!" "The song is itself beautiful! Who won't like listening to it?!" "But you added more shine to these lyrics by your sweet voice! I feel listening to your song for more time..." "If I keep singing won't my throat pain?!" "But I didn't tell you to sing for hours!" "Hmph!" she faked her anger and got up to lower the fire of the lamp while Saurabh chuckled at her cute expression.

Bondita's grandmother lovingly patted her head and gently pulled her from herself, "Maa, you have to leave this place!" "But why Dida?" "We can't stop them for a long time, what if tomorrow he again threatens you?! It's better if you run away from here!" said her grandmother after which Bondita looked down sadly. "Maa" she held her cheek as she called her, "I understand that you don't want to leave from here for you have so many memories attached to this place but now we are helpless! We have no choice left, I know it's quite difficult to stay away from your home but sometimes for our betterment we have to sacrifice something in our life! Are you understanding what I am trying to say Maa?" she asked to which Bondita nodded as a tear dropped from her eye, "You are so good Maa! When things will get better you have to come to meet us! Okay?" she said after which Bondita again hugged her. Anirudh also started having tears in his eyes as he witnessed such a pure and beautiful scene infront of himself, "Looks like you have got too emotional!" said Anuj with a smile, "Hmm, my heart just melted here.." replied Anirudh as he wiped his own tears with a smile, "Also Chhote Zamindar Babu! I need your help!" said her grandmother as she and Bondita parted leaving Anirudh in confusion.

Trilochan strolled continuosly near the door as he continuously looked at the time, "This Anirudh! Where he has gone now?! It's dinner time now and he is nowhere to be seen!" "Don't worry Da, he will be back..." "But when?! When the earth will fully get destroyed then?! This boy nowadays never listens to us!" "You noticed this now Da?" asked Binoy with a smirk, "I agree that in his childhood too he did like this but that was rare! Now he is being frequent in this! Batuk, Shashwati, do you both know where did your Dada go?" he asked as he noticed them sitting on their chairs, "Oh, about Dada?" "So about whom was I asking now Batuk?!" "Cool down Kaka, I was just feeling a bit sleepy that's why...well I also don't know..." "You slept for two to three hours Dada! Then also you are feeling sleepy?!" asked Shashwati as she laughed, "Maybe you should start wearing spectacles Shashwati! I was studying for three hours today!" "No Dada, I don't need them! You actually need them so that you can concentrate on your studies better! I agree that you did sit with your book but after sometime your eyes were totally closed while your book was left open!" replied Shashwati with a smirk after which Batuk frowned at her, "Why do you always spy on me Shashwati?!" "I have to Dada! For I am your good sister!" replied Shashwati as she winked making Batuk angry. "You both eat your dinner instead of declaring a war here! I will wait for Anirudh for some time more and if by that time he doesn't return I will go to search for him!" said Kaka as he continued to frown.

"I know that I am asking too much from you but I still want you to marry my Maa!" said her grandmother leaving all of them surprised, "B-But I can't! I can't marry her! I don't think Bondita will want this too!" replied Anirudh as he looked towards her, "But you both are very close to each other! I have also seen you taking care of her when she was having her periods! If you marry her then Chandrachur won't be able to force her again for sure! Please marry her!" she requested as she forwarded her hand holding a small vermillion box. Suddenly they heard the guards shouting after which she said worriedly, "Be quick Chhote Zamindar Babu! Fill her hairline with this vermillion! We have no time left!". Anirudh stood numb as he looked towards the vermillion box and then towards Bondita's face, she looked like she was waiting for an answer from him but it was clear from her face that she wasn't ready for the marriage too, should he agree to this?
