First of all I am really very very sorry for so much delay in update. I wanted this to update long back and even written 3/4th of this chapter but somehow couldn't complete it. But this is no excuse, I sincerely apologize to you all for delaying it too much. I hope you all still remember the story or are atleast interested in it😒

Anyway here goes cahpter 5B. There will be just one last chapter after this which I hope to update soon.

Rudhita FS: Jealousy - Chapter 5B

Sometime later he stood outside Bondita’s room with a plate full of food in his hand. But he was hesitating to knock the door. He was feeling confused and awkward not knowing what to do. 'If she opened the door what would he say to her? Bada sher ban ke baat karne aaya tha Bondita se, abb bheegi billi jaisa mehsoos ho raha hai. No wonder Bondita didn’t come infront of him since her accidental confession. She too must be dreading to face him' he thought to himself nervously. But he couldn’t stand awkwardly outside her room doing nothing forever. So, he just mustered up his strength and knocked and said aloud –

“Bondita….Bondita? Darwaza kholo” There was no response. He wasn’t going to give up. He again called out, this time a little loudly “Bondita, darwaza kholo, mujhe pata hai tum andar hi ho”. She opened the door slowly but quickly went inside not facing him properly.

"Yeh kya hai Bondita? Tumne kal bhi khana nahi khaya aur subah nashta karne bhi nahi aayi tum. Kab tak bhuke rehne ka irada hai tumhara?" He asked her concerned. He had always known her love for food and how happy even the thought of it made her. And he didn't like it when she was skipping food because of him.

As he entered the room he saw her sitting on the side of the bed and awkwardly turning her eyes here and there not wanting to face him.

There was a strange awkward silence between them and both of them were avoiding each others gaze. Anirudh couldn't tolerate this, so he spoke up again "Voh...voh mai tumhare liye breakfast laya tha, ye lo Kuch kha lo, vaise bhi haathi daud rahe honge tumhare pet mein abb tak"

She took the plate from him silently but albeit uneasily. She was trying to guge his reaction. They never usually talked about their relationship much. It had always been a taboo topic, so she really didn't know what he thought of her. She knew how impulsive and short tempered he was. So although what she confessed yesterday was absolutely true, she didn't want to lose the beautiful bond she shared with him to break due to her feelings.

Anirudh wasn't liking her silence at all. Her silence was something that pierced him always. Strangely though he was never a person who liked talking much nor did he like people who talk too much. But Bondita was an exception. Though in the initial days of marriage her talks irritated him, gradually even her blabberings started sounding musical!! He just couldn't stand her being silent. He hated it infact. So, he decided to address the issue at hand. He kept the plate aside and held her hands as he sat in front of her on the bed and asked- "Gussa ho mujhse?"

"Mai kyun gussa hongi aapse?" she replied genuinely surprised. She thought he would be angry with her after her confession. She was afraid he may just suddenly drift apart. Over the years they had settled into a comfortable camaraderie but yesterday her confession had kind of threatened the status quo of their relationship. This made her very wary of his reaction. She had somehow imagined him blasting everyone but he didn't even seem remotely angry. And that relieved her a lot. She slowly saw her uneasiness receding.

"Maine bohot pareshan kia na tumhe kal? Mini aur mere baare mein tum pooch rahi thi aur maine thik se jawab nahi dia. Dekho Bondita, Mujhe nahi pata tum mere aur Mini ke baare mein kya soch rahi ho, par Mini sirf meri dost hai, aur usse zyada kuch bhi nahi, mai bass kal ese hi tumhari taang kheech raha tha" said Anirudh feeling sorry for his actions.

The relief she felt at his words couldn't be described in words. From two days she was all worked up over the fact that maybe he still has feelings for Saudamini didi and maybe would like to be with her again and even the thought was so scary. But still she had so many questions regarding their relationship, was he telling all this just to make her happy or was he genuinely happy with her. They still seemed to be on good terms after whatever happened in past and it surprised her.

Anirudh was looking at her and he was so familiar with this expression of hers. So he said- "Kya hua Bondita? Kuch aur puchna hai tumhe?"

She nodded in a no fearing how he might react angrily if she asks too much about it.

But he knew her too well and said- "Bina hichkichaye jo puchna hai pucho. Haq banta hai tumhara meri zindagi ke baare mein jaanne ka, patni ho tum meri".He didn't know how he got the confidence to say all this. He usually never referred much to their relationship in their talks as he felt it would be like burdening her. Also he always had this nagging guilt that their marriage was not something Bondita consciously got into. But her confession kinda made him realise she wanted him and this relationship in her life as much as he did. And she did have the right to know about his past, he didn't want to deny her that.

She looked up at him at that. He rarely addressed her as patni and it really warmed her heart to hear him say all this. Though they were always very close, she was a bit reluctant to ask questions regarding this as she feared he may get offended as it would be like intruding into an extremely personal territory. But since he himself told her to ask she just couldn't stop herself.
"Aapne mujhe Saudamini didi aur aapke baare mein kabhi bataya kyun nahi? Aur aap ye sab jo keh rahe hain mujhe khush karne ke liye toh nahi keh rahe na?" She asked curious.

He knew this question was coming his way. She always told him everything about her life and it must have hurt her that he concealed his past from her.
"Mai tumse se ye sab jaan bhuj kar chupana nahin chahta tha Bondita, par iss baat ko itna waqt ho chuka hai ki mai khud iss baat ko lag bhag bhul chuka tha. Lekin tum sahi keh rahi ho, mujhe ye baat tumhe bata deni chahiye thi, par bass mere dimaag se nikal gai, shayad isliye kyunki abb mere liye ye sab mayne nahin rakhte. Aur tum aisa kyun sochti ho?Mai jhooth kyun bolunga? Maine jo kuch bhi kaha poore mann se kaha" said Anirudh truthfully.

She smiled hearing his words. When she came to know about all this she had felt very disappointed that her patibabu had kept this secret from her. She had thought it was because she wasn't important enough for him to give details about his personal life. But now she felt happy that he came and cleared the air. But simultaneously also felt a twinge of guilt that she was the reason he had to lose out on his love. Though it was really difficult for her to imagine both of them happily together or him being with anyone else for that matter, but the truth was If not for her he and Saudamini didi would have been happily married perhaps. He sacrificed his happiness for taking her responsibility. She suddenly felt the need to apologize to him.

"Mujhe maaf kar dijiye patibabu. Meri wajah se aapko aapka pyaar nahi mil paya na. Maine aapke zindagi mein aake utpaat macha dia na, agar mai na aati toh aap dono hasi khushi apni zindagi jee rahe hote" she said her voice a bit shaky.

Anirudh was shocked at her statement. He never thought that way nor was it that way. How could she even think like that? Though initially when he got married to Bondita, he was quite bitter about it, but with time he realized that Bondita was probably the best gift that destiny could give him. No way did he have any regrets about it and nor did he even want her to think that way
"Bonditaa ek minute, I think you are getting it all wrong. Mujhe iss baat ka koi afsos nahi hai ki Mini se shaadi nahi kar paya mai. Haan, ek waqt pe mai chahta tha usse shaadi karna, par vakt ke saath mujhe yeh ehsaas hogaya ki mai aur Mini ek dusre ke liye sahi nahi hain. Agar tum meri zindagi mein na bhi aayi hoti na, tabhi shayad hamara rishta kuch zyada lamba nahi tik pata. Toh tum khud ko innsab cheezon ke liye dosh dena band karo" Anirudh said and smiled. He then added on a lighter note- "Itna sochna band karo madam, Duniya mein har cheez ki zimmedar tum nahi ho sakti, abb khud ko itna credit bhi matt do Bonditaa"

Bondita smiled hearing him. Though somewhere she knew he had suffered much more than he was letting on but knowing that he didn't regret not marrying Saudamini didi gave her a little relief. But her questions weren't over yet and he was still sitting by her side smiling. So she said- "Bass ek aur sawal- Saudamini didi ne abb tak shaadi kyun nahi ki aur aap log aaj bhi acche dost kaise hain?"
She knew this was quite childish but she thought since he was in a mood to answer why not?

Anirudh was quite amused at this but still thought of answering - "Abb tumhari Saudamini didi ne shaadi kyin nahi ki ye toh tumhe unse hi puchna padega kyunki maine toh unhe kabhi nahi roka". Bondita made a face at this. Anirudh continued- "Maine toh use hamesha aage badhne ke liye kaha hai. Aur rahi dosti ki baat toh hum bachpan ke dost hai, usse shaadi nahi hui toh dosti thodi tod sakta hun"

Bondita rolled her eyes. She was giving 'matlab kuch bhi' looks to him. She understood his reasons but somehow she never found their friendship to be a deep one.

Anirudh was finding her reactions amusing.
He then added- "haan haan thik hai abb itni bhi acchi dost nahi hai, khush?"

Bondita laughed her ringing laughter amd Anirudh couldn't help but smile at the sight. Her laughter was always something that filled his heart. Then suddenly her expressions turned thoughtful.

"Kuch aur bhi puchna hai?" asked Anirudh knowing very well she wasn't finished yet.

Bondita looked up at this question.
"Nahi nahi aur kuch nahi puchna patibabu" said Bondita hesitantly.

"Jo puchna hai puchlo varna kahin tumhare pet mein dard na hojaye" said Anirudh while smiling lightly at his own joke.

"Voh..voh.. agar Saudamini didi kabhi kisi aur se shaadi kare toh.. matlab apko kaisa lagega.. matlab bura toh nahi lagega na aapko" asked Bondita very reluctantly already regretting asking it now.

Anirudh was a bit taken aback by the sudden question. He became thoughtful and said- "Abb meri premika ki shaadi hogi toh bura hi lagega na mujhe". Anirudh was trying hard to control his smile seeing Bondita's face turning red with anger.

"PATIBABUUU" she shouted throwing a pillow at him in irritation. Anirudh couldn't stop his laughter and was hit with some more pillows.

"Arre mazak kar raha hun baba" said Anirudh in between his laughter.

"Aise mazak kaun karta hai?" asked Bondita still irritated.

"Aur aise sawal kaun karta hai?" countered Anirudh while sticking his tongue out teasing her.

"Sach batao na patibabuu" said Bondita pleadingly

"Arre mujhe kyun koi phark padega Mini ke shaadi se. Khush hojaunga ki meri dost ki shaadi ho rahi hai" said Anirudh genuinely. Then added while laughing - "Khush kya, uske baaraat mein nachunga, thik hai?"

Bondita's face lit up at this. "Shotti?" She asked with her big bright smile.

"Haan Bonditaa shotti" said Anirudh happily. She seemed quite satisfied now. He then asked- "Tumhe dekhar lagta hai ki tumhare sawal khatam hogaye. Hogaye na? Toh agar aapki aagya ho toh mai chalun?"

She nodded happily.

He got up to leave and while going added- "Aur khana kha lena yaad se"

"Thik hai" she shouted back happily. She felt so light after this conversation with him as if some big burden had been taken aqay from her head. And now she suddenly felt hungry. She looked at the plate full of food he had brought for her and was about to start eating when she heard Anirudh.

He suddenly came to the door and asked - "Sham ko kya kar rahi ho?"

"Kuch nahi, kyun?" She said confised as she slowly walked upto him.

"Kyunki hum bahar jaa rahe hain" he said in a matter of fact tone.

She remembered the previous day how he had told they had to go out and announced they were to go to Saudamini didi's house.
"Mujhe phir se Saudamini didi ke ghar nahi jana" she said sarcastically.

"Maine kab kaha hum Mini ke ghar jaa rahen hain?" He asked laughing at her confusion.

"Toh phir kahan?" she asked now a bit curious

"Voh sab abhi nahi, bass tum tayyar rehna" He said smiling at her. Then added- "Aur suno, poore khandan ko saath mein matt bula lena, samjhi?" knowing fully well about her bond with Som and Batuk.

"Kyun?" She asked genuinely surprised.

To this he gave a smile but there was a mischievous glint to it and somehow it made her heart flutter. He then came near her and whispered in her ears "Beacuse its a date"

Bondita found herself blushing to a deep shade of red at his answer. Did she hear it correctly or were her ears ringing? She managed to blabber somehow trying not to smile and asked- "Da..date?"

"Kyun kal jo tumne kaha uska jawab nahi chahiye tumhe?" whispered Anirudh in her ears again leaving her stunned. He then slowly took a few step backwards with the same mischievous smile still playing on his lips and then walked away.

Bondita looked back at the mirror and saw her face had turned completely red. She wondered had she dreamed all these things up or her patibabu actually said these things? While her smile refused to leave her face....
