This is a one shot based on when Bondita has come back from London for three months in her break. It’s her second year going on. Anirudh has started practicing in Calcutta high court and the Roy Chaudhary family has shifted to their Calcutta haveli.
“Baudi….hum sab Tulsipur jaa rahe hain ek vivaah samahroh mein shaamil hone. Aap akeli reh lengi na?” Soham asked Bondita.
“ Kaisi baatein kar rahe ho Soham? Anirudh toh hai hi na bahu ke saath. Aur vaise bhi vilaayat mein akeli hi rehti hai na who.” Trilochan kaka replied Soham.
“Bahu….apna dhyaan rakhna aur zyada kaam karne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. TumBihari ko kaamchor bana dogi.” Baba said, addressing her.
“Bihaaariiii!” Trilochan kaka shouted.
“Ji….maalik” Bihaari said and came to them.
“ Dekhna kichoti maalkin aaram karein.” Kaka instructed him.
Thesituation was so ironical. Kaka was referring Bondita as choti malkin genuinely without any sarcasm unlike the earlier years. Time really changes.
“ Iss duniya mein sab kuch badal sakta hai par kaka aur Bihaari ki yeh roz ki anban nahi.” Batuk whispered to his baudi.
“ Sach mein. Par agar yeh badal gaya toh kya mazaa ayega phir?” Bondita whispered back.
“ Maine toh usi din keh diya tha ki Trilochan da ne nayi naatak company shuru kar di hai jisme sirf Bihaari nahi, Batuk aur Bahu bhi hain.” Baba replied to them.
They all giggled.
“ Bihaari, agar mujhe pata chala na ki bahu zyada kaam kar rahi hai toh phir mera haathaur tumhara gaal.” Trilochan kaka said.
“ Parmaalik, choti maalkin ko samjhana bhi toh bahut mushkil hai.” Bihaari cried.
“ Who sabhum kuch nahi jaante. Ab hato, hume jaana hai warna deri ho jayegi.” Kaka saidand all of them left.
“ Bahurani, kripya kuch kaam na kariyega warna humaari shaamat aayegi.” Bihari literally begged Bondita.
“ Bihari kaka, aapko koi kuch bhi nahi bolega. Aapko bhi aaj ek shaadi mein jaana haina? Aap chale jayiye. Kisi ko bhi pata nahi chalega. Pakka vaada.” Bondita addressed him.
“ Bilkul nahi Bahu rani….maalik ko pata chal gaya toh maar hi daalenge.” He resisted.
“ Kaka, abagar aap nahi jaayenge na toh main bade baba ko bata dungi ki ghar ka saara kaam maine kiya hai.” Bondita threatened him.
“ Nahi nahibahu rani….hum jaa rahe hain. Bas khana banake jaa rahe hain.” He said.
“ Nahikaka. Aapko deri ho jayegi. Aap jayiye. Main khana bana lungi.” She replied and Bihaari was gone.
It was five in the evening. It was still an hour before Anirudh babu was home. She went to the kitchen to see that Bihaari kaka was playing a prank with her. The dinnerwas already made. This was the kind of relationship she shared with Bihaari kaka, Batuk and Somnath dada. Always playing pranks on each other.
It suddenly started raining with the blink of an eye and Bondita loved rains. She loved to get drenched in the rainwater.
Unable to stop herself from doing so, she rushed to the terrace and opened her arms wideand looked up in the sky and then started that tune….that very song she loved……ghar more pardesiya. She loved that song to the core.
She got so lost in dancing that she failed to notice the presence of her pati babu who was standing by the pillar, watching her.
She took such a turn and was about to slip because of the water when Anirudh rushed to save her. In this process, he got drenched too.
In the anticipation of falling down, Bondita shut her eyes tightly.
“ Aaram se Mishti….ab aankh khol sakti ho.” She heard Anirudh say and slowly opened her eyes.
She immediately clutched the collar of his shirt.
He made her steady on her legs and then grabbed her by her waist and started to dance with her.
Her hand was on his shoulder and his hand was on her waist and the other hand entagled with each other.
Anirudh gave her a twirl and when he pulled her towards himself, she could feel senseless, as if she would immediately fall down if Anirudh would leave her.
He made her week in the knees.
“Mishti….chalo andar warna beemaar pad jaogi.” Anirudh said.
“ NahiAnirudh babu….aap deemar ho jayenge. Main beemar nahi hoti.” Bondita defended herself.
“ Kitna jhooth….yaad nahi hai kitna beemar padti thi pehele? Poore ghar se sewa karwatithi. Kaka toh har samay sirhane hi baithe rehte.” Anirudh remembered.
“ Mujhe yaad nahi….” Bondita lied.
“ Jhooth bolna nahi aata toh koshish bhi kyu karti ho?” He asked her.
“ Chaloab…..andar.” He added.
“ Nahi Anirudh babu….aap jaiye. Mujhe nahi aana.” She got stubborn.
“ Yeh antim faisla hai Mishti?” He asked her.
She nodded her head in a yes.
“ Soch lo.”Anirudh asked again.
“ Sochliya.” Bondita replied, not changing her answer.
“ Theek hai.” He said and picked her up in bridal style.
“ Yeh cheating hai Anirudh babu….aap aisa nahi kar sakte. Jaane dijiye!” She exclaimed.
“ Bilkul nahi….beemar pad jaogi.” He said and walked inside with her and climbed the stairs, reaching their room.
“ Ab jaldise kadpe badlo warna thand lag jayegi.” Anirudh said, putting her down and walked out of the room.
She immediately changed because Anirudh was standing outside with wet clothes. As she was done changing her saree, she called him in.
“ Aap bhi badal lijiye warna aapko thand lag jayegi.” She said and walked out of the room and went to the kitchen to serve dinner.
But she wasn’t lucky as she had already started sneezing.
“ Kya bolatha maine?” Anirudh asked, entering the kitchen.
“ Nahi rokpaayi apne aap ko baarish dekh ke. Par aap kyu bheege?” She asked him.
“ Nahi bheegta toh gir jaati na.” He replied.
“ Haan tohuske baad toh andar aa sakte the na!” She exclaimed.
“ Phir shaayad main nahi rok paaya apne aap ko Mishti.” He said, looking intensely at her.
“ Mujhe nahi pata tha ki aapko bhi baarish itni pasand hai.” She remarked.
Anirudh was left flabbergasted. Here he was giving complete hints to his wife but all she could think about was rain!
“ Baarish nahi…..baarish mein bheegne wali pasand hai.” He confessed, looking directly in her eyes.
Her eyes went wide and her cheeks, a deep shade of red.
“ I love you Mishti and I see you more that just a mentee now. I see you as my wife and want no one but you by my side always.” He said again.
Bondita was also clear in her head and she knew that she had fallen in love with the man she called husband. She also saw him more that just a mentor…he was her pati babu.
“ Mujhe bhiwoh pasand hain jo mujhe baarish mein girne se bachate hain.” She said, looking away, blushing.
He stepped towards her and she stepped back. This continued till she was pinned to the kitchen slab.
“ Jab pasand karti ho toh door kyu jaa rahi ho?” He asked her.
“Kyuki…..kyuki aap paas aa rahe hain!” She squeaked meekly.
“ Yeh toh uttar nahi hai prashn ka Bondita.” He said.
“ Koi…koi dekh lega.” She said, unable to bear his close proximity.
“ Koi nahihai ghar pe Mishti.” He told what she already knew.
“Mai….mai…” She started.
“ Shhh.”Anirudh said, keeping his finger on her lip.
“ Chinta mat karo….main aisa kuch bhi nahi karunga ko tumhe nahi karna.” He told her andshe wrapped her arms around his torso and placed her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her waist too.
“ Iss samay mere liye itna hi jaana kaafi tha. Tumhare liye toh main apna poora Jeevan intezaar kar sakta hoon Mishti. I love you.” He said again.
“ I love you too Anirudh babu.” Bondita said, still hugging him and he kissed the top of her head and forehead, leaving her blushing again.
