Faisal and Shikha

Better known as Kartik of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Faisal Raza Khan's car over-turned on Thursday night when the couple was returning from a farewell bash. He was with his girlfriend Shikha Verma who suffered head injuries and has been hospitalised.

The farewell party was thrown by producer Sunjoy Wadhwa (Betiyaan - Apni Ya Paraya) on Thursday night for the cast and crew. On the rainy day, after the party wound up at 2 am, Faisal was returning from Vikhroli in his car. Because of poor visibility and a half dug-up road, his car banged into a lamp post and over-turned.

Recalling the harrowing experience Faisal says, "There was a diversion at Powai and we could not figure it out in darkness, it was also raining heavily. We banged into a lamp post and the car turned upside down. The iron rods at the construction place dug into our car too. And we were unconscious for 15 minutes."

Faisal's girlfriend, Shikha's head rammed into the windscreen injuring her head badly. Thankfully DJ Ivor Fernandez, who was also present at the party was passing by and he came to their rescue. "He dragged my car from the gorge with his car. Both of us are really grateful to him for rescuing us," adds Faisal.

While Faisal got away with minor injuries on his hand and neck, some glass pieces were entrenched in Shikha's head. "I am alright now. But, Shikha is under treatment," says Faisal who spoke to us from the X-ray chamber.

What about the car? "The car has been damaged very badly. The bonnet, the windscreen, everything was smashed. It's in the garage now!" Faisal adds.
