Part 2
Vidya asked Maaji several times why exactly she was supposed to hide
her identity from her husband. She got the same reply each time, "Woh
abhi yeh sab keliye tayyar nahi hai!!" Vidya wanted to know what "yeh sab"
consisted of, but she was too scared to ask.
Finally getting the nerve, Vidya asked, "Lekin maaji, hum unhe kya
bataayengi ki hum yaha kyon hai?"
Maaji gave her a thoughtful look and replied, "Bahu...aaj se tum Sagar ke
pita ki acche dost ki beti ho, samjhi?"
Vidya nodded and said cheekily, "Ha...lekin aap bhool kar hume bahu
mat bulaiye inke samne!" (I can't imagine Vidya saying anything cheekily
😆 )

Sagar entered his room with a feeling of nostalgia. He has lived here his
entire life but it seemed as if a whole chunk of his recent life was missing.
The room was filled with toys and Sagar cringed at the thought of him
behaving like an 8 year old. Maaji followed him into the room and said,
"Sagar beta, sab kuch theek to hai na?"
Sagar nodded and said, "Ha ma...lekin kya mein yeh sab khilona ke saath
khelta tha?"
Sagar's mother was at a loss of words. She couldn't possibly tell him they
weren't his when they were lying around his room so obvious to the eye.
But at the same time, she couldn't admit to him that yes, he used to play
with such toys. Seeing her ambivalence, Sagar just nodded in
understanding and moved towards the window. He pushed the curtains to
one side and took a breath of fresh air. It felt good to be back home.

Vidya entered her husband's room silently. She stood by the door and
watched him sleep. Oh how she wished she could tell him. She missed
talking to him, laughing with him. Most of all she missed being his friend,
his angel...his wife.
Vidya was startled out of her thoughts when he shivered. She noticed the
window was open and quickly went and closed it shut. She walked near
his bed and looked down at him with a soft smile. Making sure not to
awaken him, she pulled the covers up and over him.
She softly drew her fingers through his hair, watching him still,
mesmerized by the innocence in his face. As she was about to walk away,
he caught her wrist. Gasping, she turned around. He had a soft smile
playing around his lips but his eyes were still closed. With a slight frown
on her face, she pried his fingers open from around her wrist and laid his
hand down on the bed. The skin still tingled where he had touched her.
She began walking away, and at the door, she turned around to look at
him one last time. Looking around her and making sure no one was
watching, Vidya pulled her wrist to her lips and kissed the spot where he
had touched her.
Little did she know that her husband was watching all this with a satisfied
smile on his face! 😉
The writing's a bit messy...didn't get a chance to read it before
posting...got to run to class 😆
