Episode 13

Later on that evening Kaushalya is making the dinner in the kitchen when Saagar comes in.

Saagar: Maa, Vidya kaha hai?

Kaushalya: (stops her chore) Woh beta….kal Vidya ke pitaji ki barsi hai, aur har saal hum pooja rakhte hai. Bas isi ki tayari mein hai Vidya…

Saagar: (sad tone) Ohh. (stands next to Kaushalya) Vidya ne kabhi inka zikar nahin kiya. Kyon?

Kaushalya: (her eyes glisten) Unka zikar toh mujhse bhi kabhi nahin kiya. Woh sirf baara saal ki thi jab inke pitaji humko chor ke chale gaye the. Uss din woh bahut royi…bahut. Lekin phir chahkar bhi mein yeh nahin jaan payee ke Vidya ke mann mein kya hai. Jab bhi inke bare mein baat karne jaati, woh bilkul khamosh hojati aur phir ut kar chali jaati.

Saagar: Agar mein baat karu toh?

Kaushalya: Koshish karke dekhlo…lekin mujhe nahin lagta ke woh kuch bol payegee.

Saagar: Aap woh mujhe pe chor dijye. Tab tak….mein aapki madat karu..?

Kaushalya: (brings a smile on to her face) Aap araam kijiye…

Saagar: Araam toh mein har roz karta hu. Bataye na?

Kaushalya: Acha who namak ki shishi waha upar rakhi hai, woh aap neeche utarage? Hum abhi aate hai (she walks out)

Saagar gets up on a very shaky stool to take down the glass from a fairly high shelf. He struggles to reach it as the stool refuses to stay still. He eventually grabs the bottle but as he is taking it down, the stool causes him to drop the glass bottle which smashes on to the hard floor. Saagar's phone begins to vibrate in his pocket, Saagar is unable to control his posture accidentally puts his left foot down on to broken glass. He shouts in pain and rapidly picks up his left foot again to put on the stool. He holds on to the shelf in front of him to release his pain, his eyes water as the blood begins to escape from his feet.

Saagar: Arghhhhh!! (holding tight on to the shelf, he somehow puts his right leg off the stool but can't move his left. After waiting a few seconds or so, Saagar lifts his badly wounded foot off the stool and puts it on the ground behind him)

He hears Vidya's voice…

Vidya: (looks at the broken glass and salt on the floor) Yeh kya hua?

Saagar straightens himself up, holds his fists tightly.

Saagar: Nahin woh mein badi shishi utar raha tha, (finds it difficult to talk) lekin mere haath se phisal gayi. (Vidya is confused at Saagar's expressions) Tum jao mein utha luga.

Vidya is slightly annoyed and Saagar looks at his left foot which is covered in blood, he hides his feet behind the stool so Vidya can't see.

Saagar: Vidya tum jao mein kar luga…

Vidya bends down to slowly pick the broken glass up…

Saagar becomes agitated as he observes the red stains on the glass.

Saagar: Vidya… (he holds the stool, closes his eyes and bends down trying not to make any noise. Saagar takes the glass from her hand)

Vidya notices blood marks on the glass, she is apprehensive.

Vidya: (frowns) Yeh khoon ke nishaan??

Saagar: (frightened expression and looks back at his foot)

Vidya: (Vidya looks up see a perspiring Saagar) Aapko pasina kyon aa raha hai?

Saagar: (gulps) nahin toh…

Vidya: (gets anxious) Aapke haat bataye humein…

Saagar reluctantly shows his hands, no signs of blood. Kaushalya calls for Vidya, she turns around then turns back to face Saagar.

Vidya: Aap humsein kuch chupa rahe hai?

Saagar: (becomes tense but pretends to smile) Tumhe toh hamesha yahi lagta hai. Ab tum jao, maa bula rahi hai. Mein yeh sab karluga..

Vidya is unsure but leaves as Kaushalya calls for her the second time. Saagar heaves a sigh of relief, when his phone vibrates…he attempts to get up, drops down again. Saagar takes the phone out of his left pocket and attempts to read the caller id with his blurry vision. He leans on to the stool and gets up on his right foot…he looks again at his phone. Surili is calling him….Saagar is shocked.

Saagar: Surili?!

Vidya: (agonizingly) Baat kyon nahin kar lete?

Vidya still hasn't noticed Saagar's foot as she continues to give him angry and hurt glares.

Vidya: Agar aapko usse baat karni thi toh saaf saaf khe dete, mein khud chali jaati yaha se.

Saagar: (feels lost) Vidya...

Vidya turns round so her back is facing Saagar, whom slowly attempts to shuffle towards Vidya, he puts his right hand on her shoulder…but she nudges him off. Saagar tries hard to stay conscious…

Saagar: (closing his eyes now and again) Vidya…mein tumhe chot nahin pochana chahta.

Vidya: (tearfully) Lekin har baar pocha jaate hai.

Vidya continues to face away from Saagar. He gives up and limps away out of the kitchen when Kaushalya comes up and realises the blood on Saagar's foot.

Kaushalya: (worried) Chote thakhur…yeh kya…

Saagar: (puts his finger on his lips) Shhh…Main teekh hu. Aap Vidya ko sambhaliye…

Kaushalya: (gets more worried) Vidya ko kya hua? Aur aap?? (confused and anxious)

Saagar: (calmly) Vidya ko kayi zyada chot lagi hai…

He limps away again towards his room. Kaushalya puzzled at where to go, decides to look on Vidya.

Kaushalya: (shouts) Vidya!

Vidya: (wipes her tears quickly and turns rounds) Ha maa?

Kaushalya: (looks at her carefully) Tum toh bilkul teekh ho?

Vidya is confused.

Vidya: Humein kya hoga?

Kaushalya: Toh phir Saagar? (rushes off to see the injured Saagar)

Vidya is left confused, she follows her mother who enters Saagars room. Vidya becomes irritated again remembering Saagar, she then turns to walk away when she hears….

Kaushalya: Aur aap sab kuch chup chaap sunte rahe? Aap ne kuch kaha kyon nahin Vidya ko?

Vidya is curious and she peeps in through the open door to see Saagar sitting on the bed with his left leg up on his right thigh. She sees him struggling and paining to wipe the blood off his feet, Vidya is left stunned.

Its far from great...sorry.

Episode 14

Vidya puts her hand over her mouth as she observes Saagar's injured condition. She is about to walk in when the words of her mother stop her from entering.

Kaushalya: Main doctor ko le kar aati hu…

Before Saagar could stop her she rushes out and is just about to bump in to Vidya outside the door. Kaushalya gives an irritated look at the guilt ridden Vidya and then continues to rush. Vidya looks towards Saagar's room and uses her left arm to open the door. Vidya stands there as Saagar looks up…He realises that she is just about to break in to tears.

Saagar: (smiles) Ab dekho…mujhe daatna mat. Itni bhi chot nahin lagi hai mujhe (Vidya continues to walk towards him) Uh..woh maa doctor lene gayi hai , sab teekh hojayega.

Saagar looks up as Vidya walks closer to him, looks at his wounded foot and slowly kneels down in front of Saagar. She moves her right hand towards his ankle which has escaped the glass, puts her head down and weeps like a baby. Saagar becomes emotional, he attempts to console her but then takes his arms back.

Saagar: (tries to change the mood) Tum hamesha roti kyon rehti ho?

Vidya looks up with a face which is all wet due to the weeping.

Saagar: No seriously, tum kyon itna roti ho?

Vidya wipes her tears.

Vidya: (gets up in a huff) Kyon ki aap hamesha humein rulate hai.

Saagar: (sarcastically) Ab maine kya kiya? Chot toh mujhe lagi hai na…tumhe kyon rona aa raha hai?

Vidya: Kyon ki mein (at loss of words)-

Saagar: Kyon ki tum?? (does his eyebrow movements, he leans on his right hand to get up and stands on his right foot)

Vidya: (worried) Aap khare kyon hogaye?

Saagar: Tumhe dikhane ke liye ke mein bilkul teekh hu

Vidya: Aap itne mahaan bane ki koshish kyon karahe hai?

Saagar: (teasingly) Maine kab kaha ke mein tumhari nakal kal raha hu?

Vidya: (gets irritated) Aapko toh hamesha mazaak hi suji rehti hai.

Saagar: (shaking on his one foot) woh kehte hai na…pati aur patni jitne hi alag ho utna acha hota hai. (Vidya tries to hold him but he doesn't listen) Isliye mein humesha mazaak karta rehta hu aur tum roti rehti hu. Isn't it just fantast----

Saagar loses his balance, falls in front and takes Vidya below him. Both lie on the floor, both are in an embracing position. Saagar slowly lifts his head and looks at his surprised wife. They both have a little staring session, Saagar takes the strand of Vidya's hair away from her face.

Saagar: (slowly and quietly) Ab jab tak doctor nahin aa jaate, humein yahin rehna parega.

Vidya: (frowns) kyon?

Saagar: Kyon ki agar hum iss waqt hile toh mere per ko zyada chot lag sakti hai. Mein khara kaise ho sakta hu?

Vidya gasps at her husbands cunningness. Saagar gives a cheeky smile and makes a kissing impression to her. Their heads are very close to each other and Vidya can't move even if she wants to.

Vidya: Hum aise nahin reh sakte!

Saagar: I know…kuch aur hona chahiye? Tumhe nahin lagta?

Vidya: (gasps even more) Aap ko sharam nahi aati?

Saagar: Sharam? Mujhe? Main apni patni se baat karaha hu, sharam kyon aayegi mujhe?

Vidya: (turns to a concerned tone after a little silence) Woh…aapka per.

.

Saagar: (still in pain but continues to joke) Woh first class hai. Haa lekin agar main iss jage se hila toh bahut garbar ho sakti hai.

Vidya helplessly smiles a little.

Saagar: (still on top of her) Aaj tum kuch zyada hi sexy lag rahi ho!

Vidya: (taken aback) Kya lagarahi hu?

Saagar: sexy!!

Vidya: (baffled) Huh?

Saagar: (romantically) And you're so beautiful…

Vidya: (more confused but is liking the way Saagar is saying the words)

Saagar: Can I kiss you?

Vidya: Huh??

Saagar: (twists her words) Matlab haa?

Vidya: lekin kya?

Saagar: (laughs out loudly and taps her head with his hand) Kuch nahin.

Vidya: (with attitude) Angrezi mujhe bhi aati hai

Saagar: Acha? (Vidya nods her head proudly) Toh kaho…

Vidya: Nahin aap hasoge

Saagar: Nahin hasuga (holds his neck) I promise

Vidya: (excited) Haa…promise!! Mujhe yeh pata hai.

Saagar: (moves his head closer to hers) Aur?

Vidya: (talks a child) Aur…Thankoo!!

Saagar: (smiles looking at Vidya talking away)

Vidya: ( suddenly remembers) Haa!!! I love you!

Saagar is stunned out of his wits.

Saagar: kya kaha tumne?

Vidya: (worriedly) Galat kaha?

Saagar: Nahin bilkul teekh kaha…lekin phir se bolo.

Vidya: I love you…

Saagar is grinning all over…

Vidya: Aap hass kyon rahe hai?? Apne hi toh kaha tha mujhe.

Saagar: Acha? Kab?

Vidya: (sad tone) Woh aap jab…camp gaye the Bharat ke school ke saath. (smiles remembering those moments) Tab aapne paharo ke upar kaha tha…

Saagar: Uske baad kya kaha tha?

Vidya: (looks in to his eyes and realises he knows the answer)

Saagar: Phir maine ussi shabd ko hindi mein kaha tha. (in a very serious tone) Vidya…Main…tumse bahut pyar karta hu.
