Shalu, DM didn't succumb to Khemi' blackmailing as we had all thought. When Santu comes asking for nyay, remember the monologue in his bedroom? He says he did as she asked him to and kept away, so now why has she come back.
And marriage is never about sacrifice. It is never about either the husband or the wife completely sacrificing one thing or the other for each others happiness. It is about compromise. That's where truly successful marriages are to be found.
Santu for some reason is under the impression that she must continuously sacrifice something or the other to bring about a happy state of affairs. And look where the latest sacrifice got her. I still maintain that she should have spoken to DM first, and consulted him on the matter. They could have reached some kindd of decision where she may not have had to go to prison and Birwa may also have been saved.
And I am not excusing DM either. We've already bashed him post-leap for sitting on his *** for ten years without trying to help Santu.
He should have done it regardless of what Santu said. Then he could have turned around and still been mad as hell at her and given her grief, which would be justified.
Having said all that I can still understand his anger towards her. And Santu's gung-ho attitude now must seem somewhat hypocritical to him.
Somone posted yesterday that Santu had indeed fulfilled her promise to look after his kids until they could look after themselves. I beg to differ. Hiten, Kaddu and Maulik were already at an age where they could take care of themselves. But to some extent Birwa, and most definitely Suraj were not.
Santu walked herself into prison and left her youngest child/ren alone. So I fail to understand how anyone can say she took care of them. Suraj grew up without either mother or father, and the rest of the lobotomised were too busy in-fighting to bother or care.
While she may have saved Birwa, she failed in her duties towards Suraj. In order to protect one child she neglected the other. Obviously, I say this knowing full well that none of them deserve her anyway (with the exception of Suraj, of whom I will think well until he proves otherwise!)
