They're not in the same jail but apparently the juvenile delinquents comes to the women's jail for their classes. That's where Santu sees Bansuri.

I watched the jail scene and I feel there is a reason for showing this scene with the focus on kids. It leads me to believe now that maybe it is Suraj who stabbed Arjan. He must have seen Arjan trying to harm his father and grabbed the knife to stop him. Suraj is too small to realized the consequences of his action. They may show us after the leap that DM did go to jail to meet Santu. Maybe she did tell him the truth of what happened and then made him aware that in such situations the law does not look at children and adults separately. Cnances are Bansuri may be in there under similar circumstances - unaware and clueless of the end result of her actions. That would be the only reason DM would agree to Santu taking the blame on her and at the same time keep it to himself.

I may be completely off here but the jail scene with kids got me thinking

NO Hema since Bansuri is a girl Santu is thinking about her own daughter Birwa who committed the crime and Santu too will be educated in these coming 10yrs span.

You know I thought about that scenario in which case I want to squish Suraj like a bug - All India Radio of the Mahiyavanshi Family takes every opportunity to broadcast every little thing but remains quiet about this? Although it must have been Santu who told him to keep quiet.

But isn't the wound on Arjan too high up for Suraj to make? He could maybe reach up till there but you also need to push in the knife. Multiple times. I dont think he has that strength.

I did wonder if Monghi did it because then Santu would definitely keep quiet because unlike Birwa there is no reason why the M-family should let her go. But from the way Birwa has been so completely quiet and wafting around the house, I think it's definitely her.

Thanks Piku.
Santu had better emerge from jail a literate woman. Frankly, that's the only way she's going to get an education because the M - clan aren't bothered about it!!

The way Suraj says "Ma's gone, everyones gone to mandhir in white clothes" I bet he almost thought Santu had died. Wonder if he'd clutch his heart over her. >_>
Guess we'll find out tonight.
