I'm finding it really tough to root for a couple where one of them apparently doesn't love the other one!

you're right, after watching today's episode again his expressions when he has to do puja and sees santu is like 'her again.... oh well, i'll have to put up with her for a bit longer'. I've credited RR with decent acting or whatever but pur-lease, after 8 months of watching a serial, hoping against all hope is this it?

Her love is evident, as is her devotion and he just..... puts up with her. pfffft. am annoyed. and feeling this may be a recurrent theme for a few weeks/months yet.

When he saw the Garba Deep being brought in by Santu,he gives a confused look to Taru,I hated it so much!! Please, she didnt beg him to do that, right?? Baa asked her to.

This is too too much. They cannot drag this now.

Also, how is this Kanji-Taru going to effect DM-Santu? I dont get that angle. They seem to be bent on solving 2 issues within these 9 days.

The way Baa spoke was choo cute,i love her.

Again, I have not yet watched the episode and so am posting without being aware of what the expressions were. I am posting based on the way the story is unfolding and what we have been shown till date.

DM is still very much in love with Subhadra and just cannot get past her. We see him telling her portrait every incident that happened just like one would to their spouse. He is an adamant and stubborn man and is determined to not let any other person take Subhadra's place. Even if he has started having any feelings for Santu he is not going to acknowledge them even to himself. He is going to fight them big time.

Subhadra has been put on a very high pedestal by him and he literally worships her. They are setting up the stage for Subhadra's fall from that pedestal. When Taru's past comes out and he comes to know how Subhadra hid not only Moti's marraige but also the fact that their own child had been kidnapped and the fact that they were raising Moti's son as their own. If DM would have been informed about the kidnapping he would have moved heaven and hell to find the kidnapped baby.

Once that happens he will be able to move on and see Santu for what she is and understand her importance in his life. For Santu to be accepted by him as his wife in every sense, Subhadra has to fall from grace.

That's going to be an incredibly sad thing to see- he's going to be a broken man. And she knew that moti was married, but i don't think she knew that their kids had been swapped. Even if she did then, given his love for her and her evident devotion to him and giving him 5 children he'll be able to forgive her.

and i don't see how her falling from grace is suddenly going to make him love santu. if anything, he'll lose faith in his own love.

I dont think its fair to Santu if it happens that way.She gets his love just because Subadra fell out of grace? I wouldnt want that to happen.Santu better leave, and DM can still wallow in sorrow because Subi was not faithful to him.. (or she was not what he thought, she was.)

Its a depressing thought. In fact, its like giving Santu some left over.

I don't think Subhi's fall from grace is necessary for Santo to make a place in DM's heart. I don't beleive that a person cannot let go of his past to make way for future. I think it is just DM's stubborness and his feelings of guilt both for Subhi's sake since he probably feels he is being unfaithful to Subhi's memory and for Santo's sake, cause he feels its unfair to tie her to him, that he is not able to open up his heart to Santo and fully acknowledge his feelings for her. He just needs to accept that Subhi was his past and gone forever and Santo is his present/future and he is not being unfaithful to Subhi's memory by loving Santo and all his hang-ups will vanish. Subhi will always have a special place in DM's heart and she should, but does not mean that Santo can't have her own special place....I think they can both co-exist very well in DM's heart. I too don't like the idea of Subhi's fall from grace just so DM can acknowledge his feelings for Santo....he should do that despite his feelings for Subhi....I want to see him helpless to do anything but.

@sg08 (I will call you Shalu from now on)

What you have mentioned is pretty much what Hiten tried to tell him in Thursday's episode and DM was very, very firm that Shubhi and only Shubhi was his soul mate and nopbody can ever take her place. When Hiten tried to argue the point he stopped Hiten saying as far as he is concerned that matter the chapter is closed - he does not want to move on. He is happy living with Subhi's fond memories.

I feel he does not love Santu as of now - he does have a deep respect and admiration for her and maybe a soft spot but that's it. IF things stay the way they are, I believe he would rather let Santu go. I feel he has decided to keep Baa happy and so has resigend himself to the fact that he has to deal with her Santu the next 9 days.

He doesnt love her yet,but their relation is not platonic either. He does more than just care for her.He feels the same kind of feelings he had for subadra, and that scares him.He is trying very well to hide it,but it reveals itself many times. For example, when Baa asked Santu to go back home,he willed her to say yes.Not just for Baa's sake, but for him too. Another instance, todays Arti.I saw it again in the evening, and he has a faint smile when he does that.He is resisting a lot of emotions, and that surfaced during that signature scene.

@Hema

That scene with Hiten and all that DM told him about Subhi.....I felt it was as much to convince himself as Hiten...he definitely had a hurt look on his face when he turned away from Hiten at the end of that scene.....and the way I interpreted him stopping the discussion from going any further was that he did not want to talk about it anymore because he found it distressing....he did not want to discuss it to begin with as indicated by his outburst but only did once he saw Hiten's hurt look when he screamed at him......I get the feeling that he is trying to harden his heart to prevent getting hurt when Santo leaves and like rpmenon said maybe his feelings for Santo does scare him. I am not sure if he does not love her yet or is trying to pretend he does not........like rpmenon I think that his feelings are definitely not platonic and that they run very deep and his attitude is more for self-preservation. I mean there are scenes that reveal his feelings, right....I mean why would he look so longingly at the mangalsutra and then put it next to Subhi's portrait if it was other wise. Have yet to watch today's epi - will have to wait and see if today's epi throws some more light on this whole confusion 😊
