If Santu is doing this for her sister's happiness then she has not understood her sister at all. These 2 girls have grown up together and are shown to be having a good bond. The fact that Khemi left Dharampur and did not come back with Santu or on Janmashtami as promised should be a good indicator for Santu that Khemi has realized her mistake and will never ever be happy with Hiten by breaking up Santu's marraige. Yes Khemi stumbled, but held her balance in time. Santu should understand that and respect Khemi's decsion.
I think she did know what the cost was going to be to herself. Nanaji has been telling Santu the same thing over and over and Santu knows that Nanaji is not happy with her decision to divorce DM. She is also shown to tell other people the 'satvachans' of her Nanaji. So why not she herself listen to what Nanaji has to say in this very grave and important situation?
Her action is more to prove to Hiten what a good 'mother' she can be for him by taking the decision to not be his mother any more. Which is not what is sitting well with me as a viewer.
I know I may be sounding a bit hard but I am not impressed with Santu's problem solving skill this time around.
