Santo has been a better mother to all 5 kids, in the past few months than Moti has in the past x years.. Be it helping birwa, taming suraj, supporting hiten or helping kaddu and maulik, she's done just what was required of her, which is admirable...

What is this Rebecca theory?

You know, even Hiten sings the Mom was the best tune. Not just DM. Infact Hiten said that DM never cared for his Mom or that he is showing fake love. We stll don't know the true story behind all that.

The reason I think of it this way, Rasika,
is because , evidently Hiten loves his brother so much that he was willing
to take up the punishment meant for him .. so this time too, althought Hiten will
or may punish Maulik his own way .. he will try to downlplay Maulik's fault in front of DM by highlighting
his failure as a father ..

Totally Mru. She has put Moti to shame. Even for the kids older to herself, she has managed to give them good advice and hopes to set them right.

Chalo atleast Moti objects to Maulik's driniking. If she covered/excused that one, it would be unforgiving. Isn't he considered under age!

Not just old sukhi, hiten has been just as arrogant as well.. And its taken Santo's unconditional love and support and a good dose of humility to break that down.. To see his father as a true hero and respect him for that...

Mombs, Rebecca theory came up last weekend. Mru and I think, with good reason, that Bandini is inspired somewhat by Daphne du Maurier novel called Rebecca. Check Wiki for more. Hitchcock made a film on it by the same name, which starred a brilliant Lawrence Olivier and Joan Fontaine in title role! Rebecca is the first wife of a rich man called Max de Winter, who is dead when the story starts. Max marries this very young, poor girl and brings her home. she is tortured by images and talks about Rebecca the great. Only Rebecca was not that great and Max didn't love her!

That sari scene b4 diamond award ceremony, is straight out of the film, except in the film, Max is angry that his young wife wore Rebecca's dress because he hated Rebecca.

Haan, Hiten having served the sentence in the village is the best thing that could have happened to him. Opened his eyes to reality and sincerity.

Totally brought his ego in check. This should help Santo tremendously too.
