I think the competition for this year's ITA and other telly awards will only be for shows aired during the current year...hence, all the serials that got over this year won't be in the recokning (That includes almost all of Ekta's major shows, that got wrapped by around Feburary / March) The awards ceremony takes place late in the year and hence it is always for the current year, never for the year gone by!

IMO, there are hardly any competitors to RR this year! Ram and Shabbir won't be in the race because Kasamh Se and Kayamath have ended early this year and hence won't be eligible for the competition. Same goes for Hiten Tejwani, as KSBKBT also wrapped up quite early in the year.

The only possible competition I can think of is Angad Hasija (Alekh of Bidaai), Harshad Chopra (KDMHMD), Sharad Malhotra (BMTD)...I can't even conjure up more names!😕 If any of you guys watch other shows, please add the names you think would be in the best actor nomination category.

Sukhs, the actor in YRKKH, Sanjeev Seth can't be in this category...he is not the main lead character of the show! (Though he is a very good actor admittedly)

I am quite sure of RR making a clean sweep this year (In both the popular and critics choice category)😃

PS: Even Aasiya is an extremely strong contender for the best debutant award!

Just like RIshabh Bajaj ran away with the first award after the character came into existence, I am sure Dharmraj would also do the same!!..

And basically the other contenders are of the saas-bahu genre and DM is the ONLY AND ONLY character so far on tv from a village and that has been given such a thundering response.

RR is pure magic when it comes to acting.. He's the best forever..

Regarding the other contenders, usually, when u see a soap like bandini, which started off slowly but is creating ripples all over, the competition just becomes inane(slumdog anyone???).. I mean, if any other actor can perform RR's scenes with the same poise and dignity with which he does, then I'll eat my hat... Such roles, DM and rishabh bajaj seemed to be made for him... No one else can pull such roles off...
