Nice topic, Sukhi!đ
Given that DM is a man of intense loyalty and devotion and more importantly has chosen to remain a widower after his wife's death itself speaks volumes about the kind of love he must have had for her. Since its a village set-up, it would have been quite natural that DM would have remarried soon after his wife's death, but he made a choice to remain faithful to his wife's memories.
I don't think he is the kind of man who would ever express his love verbally, as in put it in words, but someone who will carry deep emotions for the person he loves in his heart. Quiet people are generally also very deep in their feelings, since they are unable to express it outwardy and keep everything bottled in.
DM would be very possessive, to the extent of being violently jealous of anyone even coming near his wife (I can already see poor Shanky's future...toota hua Camera and toote hue Daantđ) but at the same time, would not stop himself from making her jealous...but only to tease, nothing serious. He would be over-protective and extremely caring, but without being fussy...caring in a quiet, unobstructive sort of way, so that the other person only gets the benefit, but never comes to know about it!
DM is prolly very generous by nature at the same time hates any sort of wastage...is indulgent towards his daughters and strict with his sons (incase there are kids on the scene, doesn't look like till now!)
Also, can see the man as someone who is very dominating and fully authoritative...someone who would never tolerate his wife contradicting him or speaking up to him...much as he would love her, at the same time, I can only see DM as keeping his woman strictly under his thumb. He wears the Dhoti in the house and his woman better know that!
In my personal view, such men are so wonderful to read about and even watch on screen, but life would be very, very difficult to lead with such men, unless, you as a person are very submissive, forgiving and somone with a great capacity to love selflessly. Because as a member had put across somewhere, men like DM can only be won with love and nothing else!
Actually Ronit Roy comes across as a rather ideal sort of man in his interviews....good-looking, witty, modest, family oriented and very cool n laid back...
