Bluegal, I missed the entire Venky's murder sequence so I had to go back to the archives section to read about it. Yes, you're right - the murder weapon was not a gun, but a broken beer bottle. Only Thamira's fingerprints were found on that bottle. A gold ear stud was found on the floor.
The autodriver who took Thamira home was not connected to the murder. He was incidentally passing by that night, and Thamira called out for his auto..and he saw her hands filled with blood. He later reads in the newspapers about Venky's murder on a Friday night, and recalls Thamira asking him to take her home. He informs the police of Thamira's residence and identifies her as the woman who came out from Venky's house. His contact details are with the police and he was even willing to come to court, on behalf of the prosector, to testify against Thamira.
On the night Venky was murdered, he was suppose to leave for Malaysia on a midnight flight. He passport and air tickets were found by the police. But before that, he got killed. Since Vanaja always uses Murugan's auto for her rides, it is possible on the night of Venky's murder...she came and left in Murugan's auto as well. And since she took 5 crore rupees with her, she probably gave part of that money to Murugan and disappeared. (That should explain how Murugan became rich after Venky's death). Still I'm not too sure if Vanaja is linked with Murugan himself.
I read in the archives section that Vanaja appeared in only 3 scenes alone. In the first scene, she is introduced as Venky's mistress...she knows that Venky is cheating Aadhi with her money, but she is not aware of the camera phone evidence. Venky hides that secret from her. He shows with pride that he has made a small profit of money from Aadhi...and Vanaja asks him to buy her a necklace. He says "You're only my mistress, not my wife...so there is no need for you to have a necklace"...and gives her a small bundle of money only.This scene shows that Vanaja is greedy for money. In the second scene of hers, she is discussing with Venky how to sell the 40 acre land without getting caught by Aadhi. For this, Venky says he will get Aadipatham's help. (By the way, where is Aadhipatham now?) So Vanaja also knew about this 5 crore money deal. The third scene was when Venky falsely arranged his own death, and stays in Vanaja's house, after he was gun shot by MS below his knee. (MS leaves abroad soon after that cos one of his adiyaals get caught with the police to get Venky's false post-mortem report. So MS was not involved in the actual murder...Ganga tried to kill him earlier, but was told that he moved abroad).
Bluegal, I don't think Aadhi and Vanaja could have plotted to kill Venky...Aadhi sent Ganga to do that job. Vanaja is well aware of Aadhi...but I don't think Aadhi is even aware of Vanaja's existence.
Oh, and the slum drunkard who sold his camera phone to Venky is called Mahalingam. (He surprisingly shows up in today's episode too).
