Oh, I think they are just meant to be that way.
Sundara almost always plays the role of a spineless jellyfish in serials...nothing new about him here. Shantha...well, if he's good as the dummy....then he's really good as the police inspector in Lakshmi. I guess his role is just meant to be dum here...

But then did you notice, even police officers don't have a major role in this serial...and even if they come briefly, they are shown to be dum too. Remember how careless the police were at the harbour...when Ganga escaped off to Andhaman...

Just like you have damsels-in-distress in Anandham,
you've got dummies in this serial too.

But I still think Prabhakar would have suited the role of Shantha better....
of course, bluegal would disagree with me on this!

Actually i too disagree with you spain on the prabhakar suitable for shantha role. The current guy is not good either....the guy acted previosuly suited well. Best fit is the guy who acts as Karthik in anandam. He has a similar role in anjali as well! The current shantha is too good as a cop in Lakshmi!

Oh Madhu, I agree with you and I really do like Shantha's role as a cop...he's doing a great job. I wrote that comment only because I thought Prabhakar makes a lousy lawyer and would prefer to see him being wasted in the serial instead!

Madhu, you spoke my mind word by word: from that previous shantha to karthick from anandham. It would really be fun to watch karthick in that role

Thats true spain.....Prabhakar does not the suit the role of lawyer at all...an ideal fit for lawyer and kalpana's jodi would be srikumar (ashok in malarga). He is kind of non-urban(not rural though) and rugged....but he is cute!

Oh, Srikumar and Preethi were paired together in Ahalya. He played a semi-negative character there...but was very convincing too. He suits any role given to him, so I guess he would be a good choice for lawyer & as Kalpana's pair.

Incidentally, Srikumar replaced Dev Anand for Ashok's role in Malargal.
And now, we're suggesting he replace Dev Anand again for Prabhakar's role!!
