If we use the word 'abuse' exactly the way it is meant to be used then yes, Jagya had been verbally abusive to Anandi.

Fortunately, BV is a fiction, and its abusive relationships forms the basis for drama and story telling.

What I read about Pratyusha and her boyfriend Rahul Raaj, makes me think that was one horrifying form of abusive relationship.

It is sometimes easy to fight the likes of Ratan singh, Akheraj Singh, Mahaveer Singh or even Basant. As all these are outright negative characters who are easy to hate.

But a relationship gets abusive when a trust is betrayed or someone is just 'used' by people who pretend to love them.

in that way Anandi too abused Shiv and Jagya both when she was shouting at them and were very rude , blaming them wrongly

I think we have to make a distinction between troubled relationship and outright abusive ones.

Jagya and anandi, Jagya and Gauri are examples of troubled relationship.

Comparing Jagya Anandi's relation with that of Harki Akhiraj Sanchi Saurabh , Ratan Ganga , Gehna Basant , urmi kundan is not fair These were outright abusive relations where women were subjected to physical , verbal abuses , character slandering what not

Nothing like that happened between JaAn They had their troubled times even then they were caring to each other Jagya would stand for Anandi and protect her and her character , help her in time of need and Anandi would be caring for him and finally everything was settled between them and they are best friends even now what they were in childhood What kind of abusive relation is this that people are talking here Jagya abused Anandi ?

Jagya did abuse Anandi.

He may not have raped her or physically assaulted her but what he did amounts to emotional abuse.

He started abusing her from the time he met Gauri till the time he disclosed his relationship with Gaurr to the family.At that time Anandi did not even know why he was behaving that way with her.She kept thinking that the fault lay within her and tried to do everything to please him and save her marriage.

The second phase happened when he decided that he wanted Anandi back in his life.This after he broke up with Gauri and came back. When Anandi didn't melt with his saying sorry he went out of his way to create problems for her and Shiv.How can anyone forget the *Famous Jamnesia*😛

In both the phases of abusive behaviour only what he wanted mattered her feelings never mattered to him.

Anandi suffered in the first phase because at that time her world revolved around him.She was never allowed to make her dreams come true so she did everything to make him realise his own dreams.For all that what did she get? A constant reminder of how inadequate she was as his wife but that didn't prevent him from exercising his conjugal rights over her while in his mind he imagined being with another woman.

Second phase Anandi suffered because he threatened to crash the world and life that she painstakingly rebuilt for herself. Just because he wanted to reclaim the place which he kicked away so cruelly once upon a time.

He may be good now but what he did cannot be wiped away

It is true that Jagya betrayed both Anandi and Gauri at one point in his life, for which he was later genuinely sorry, and tried to amend as much as he could.

However, JaAn and JaGa are examples of troubled relationships and not those of abusive relationship. Because in either of his relationships, he never intended to use any of his women. When he was in love with them, it was genuine. He cared for them, their wishes, feelings and also aimed to live a perfect family life with them.

But because of his own immaturity / perceptions and expectations from his life and life partners, there were situations he couldn't handle, which led to troubles and separation.

All the other relationships such Gehna-basant, Saanchi-saurabh, ganga ratan, kundan Nimboli or Kundan -Urmi were formed with a sole motive of the man using his lady to satisfy his needs. There was no room for the feelings of the woman concerned in these relationship. They were treated as outright objects and not as human. Even Akhiraj treats Harki as an object, but Harki in return is a true devotee (Stockholm syndrome - as someone already pointed out)

In fact, if JaAn or JaGa can be termed as abusive relationship then, even saanchi-vivek and Shyam Sugna, would be termed the same, as once both Vivek and Shyam started doubting Saanchi and Sugna respectively. But these too are just examples of troubled relationship, just as JaAn or JaGa. Only difference, the former ones patched up while J lost two relationships.

(And of course, since J is the protagonist, his stories were shown with proper depth and detail, unlike the other two couples, which is what gives more room to assassinate J's character)

J's mistakes are his share of faults that can't be overlooked, but that doesn't make him an abuser either.

If Jagya was such an abuser, and has done so much bad to Anandi, then wonder why is Anandi still staying with her abuser for 12 plus years.

He is either an abuser or not. He can't be both.

He can't be an abuser just to justify to Anandi's bad past and automatically become her best friend to justify Anandi's never ending stay at BH.

If he was so wrong in his life, what makes Anandi to forgive him, so much to the extent that she calls his home as hers. Or is Anandi, simply a selfish user?

His intention was not to make Anandi suffer during the first phase but Anandi's life was damaged in his hunt for a perfect partner.

Second phase it was again his own needs that dominated and he didn't care for her feelings or what she wanted.

He may have never intended to hurt but one cannot over look the fact that his partner was hurt badly by his behaviour be it Anandi or Gauri.

He tried to hurt willfully by trying to ruin Shiv's reputation.Ultimately when push came to shove he couldn't go through with his plan and that is a different matter.

Anandi gave him a clean chit in the court during SaJaGa precisely for this reason.He never willfully hurt any woman neither did he disrespect women and that's what she said in the court but for giving him clean chit for this reason Anandi is criticised till today.😛
