Yes. Grandmothers can take care of kids nicely. Many working women leave their kids in the care of grandmothers. The NRI mothers feel relieved when grandmothers come to take care of their kids. When mothers are no more, it is the grandmothers who take care of the motherless kids.

Yes they do. But can they fill the void in the lives of those kids left by their mothers?

I think they can most of the times if they are relatively young like Ira and Meenu.
While grandfathers are not that competent to fill the void.

@ leaves,
A very well summarised original post.

I don't know how things would be if Anandi had died and if Shiv was alive, but certainly the following would have happened:

- Shiv would not have lived on other people's mercy and not raised his children in a distant relatives house. They would all be living in house of their own

- If Shiv had lost his daughter just as Anandi did, he would not have shifted to some other place and hoped to find his daughter. He would have rather stayed in Udaipur (where she was lost) and where is more likely to be found. I don't see how living Jaister is any different from living in Singapore as far as finding Nandini is concerned.

- Shiv, in most cases, managed to see through consequences and acted accordingly, unlike Anandi who has never developed that ability. That is why despite, Shivam telling her clearly that he does not like Abhi, she does not see / feel any reason to move out of BH. She is failing to realise why Shivam is not fond of Abhi.

Anandi continues to live on others' mercy and is depriving her son of his belonging.

Anandi could not be a good mother to Nandini due to her poor decision making skills and is failing to be a good mother to Shivam as she cannot foresee Shivam's turmoil of living in a distant relatives' house.

With or without his parents' support, Shiv would have been a way better father to the kids, than Anandi is, as a mother.

Shiv's death should have made anandi an independent woman. Instead we are seeing her living for 11 years in BH, She could have stayed for a few days there and then convinced DS why she wants to go back to Udaipur. I will blame the CVs for this twist.

I agree. After nandini's loss, Anandi was fragile and in that state of mind if she lived in BH for 3-6 months just to get that initial support and also so that Shivam can be a little more grown up, it would have been sensible.

But now when Amol is already an adult, and Shivam too is in a tender age dealing with lot of unanswered questions, insecurities and trying to 'feel at home', why is Anandi not able to see through him and find a reason to move out?

Why is she depriving Shivam of his basics?

Yes Shiv would have made a way better father to Shivam & Nandini than Anandi is as a mother. Shivam would be living in his own house, amongst his own people, in his own city...not in some refugee camp arranged by Shiv's ex-girlfriend. Right now Shivam is living in a dharamshala, not his own home. Anandi has no self respect so I don't expect her to move out of BH but I hope atleast Shivam is sent to Singapore atleast for his further studies so that he can get his real family there. Shivam should get married and settle there with Anandi visiting her son abroad if she cares to meet him...And in that way CVs can vanish him too and concentrate on Nimboli's kachra unwanted sasural track and drag the show for another 68 years...

The CVs wont do our bidding.

They will pit abhi against shivam, ganga against anandi.

Nimboli is their brand new anandi and she will go through fire.

Jagya is their new Bhairon.

Even I feel sad watching Shivam & Nandini away from their own city, house & family.

Why Anandi doesn't review the situation Shivam is in when she herself suffered a lot living away from her parents and village most of her childhood ? Why doesn't she put her experience into practice and bring that comfort for him?

Why staying at bh is like depriving the child of own house? tomorrow Gehna stays at bh with nandu? I don't think it will be said like this. Why becoz basant is his bapusa?

Bh is also Anandi s house, she has done so much for bh when their own blood had disowned them.

Anandi and jagya bringing up children together would be the last thing I would imagine. But Like many have said Anandi, jagya, Ganga have moved on why can't we?
