Too bad that the country is probably witnessing the highest ever voting turnout at the moment -

http://www.hindustantimes.com/elections2014/election-beat/india-heads-for-highest-ever-voter-participation/article1-1209026.aspx

Anyway, not just about Pratyusha...but for all who really think that its better to abstain from voting - my personal opinion - please do not complain about no change and corruption and crime rates and inflation, if one doesnt want to be a part of the change...!

a lot depends on how strong is the political leader of the country at the center...a lot can get streamlined with good fiscal and monetary and administrative policies. so its a genuine request...please do vote...that is our right and our power...as a responsible citizen of this country.

and for such irresponsible statements from someone who played Anandi for so long - grow UP!

well Yesterday my city vote many people's name name vanished from voters list. People mobbed district Collector

PUNE: If the scorching 38-degree April heat was cited as one of the many factors for the low voter turnout in Pune in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, there was no evidence of an equally blazing sun putting off voters this time. Coupled with the administration's purge of bogus voters from the electoral rolls and massive awareness drives by political parties and volunteers alike, voting in the Pune LS seat was a healthy 53.46% - up from the dismal 40.66% it registered last time.

But if the higher turnout was the heartening factor of the day, the downside was the dejection of scores of voters who found their names missing from the electoral rolls. Among those who could not vote were city police commissioner Satish Mathur and actor Amol Palekar. Angry voters gheraoed the district collector later in the evening.

but some young bridge do cast their vote

In Pune, people in the tony neighbourhoods and upmarket areas shrugged off their general aversion to voting and turned up at the polling stations in large numbers. The queues to cast votes all over the city were particularly noticed during the early hours and later in the evening. At some places, voters waited in queue for more than three hours.

"I have always exercised my franchise, but this particular election is very important," said Diana Williams, a young voter from the Pune cantonment. "The youth have a lot of concerns about the state of the economy and shortage of jobs. The system needs a major overhaul."

I think Press Media should not published such articles during election time. In show Business publicity is publicity whether its good or bad.

Press needs to be more careful and refrain publishing such statements.

Its not all Celebrity think like this many do cast vote instead publishing such statements they should interview such Celebrity who are willing to cast vote.

In Pune many Marathi artist do cast their vote. Some came form Mumbai just for Voting.

No comments regarding TOI article-
Just want to share this-

As India holds its general elections within a month, a writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of India, demanding the Indian Government provide voting facilities to millions of overseas Indians.

The writ petition has been filed by Dr Shamseer Valayil Parampath, a Non Resident Indian (NRI) in the UAE, who approached the apex Indian court, demanding NRIs be given the right to vote in the countries where they live and work.

From April 7 to May 12, India will vote in nine phases to elect its next Prime Minister.

There have been occasional hunger strikes, Facebook campaigns and online petitions asking the Indian Government to allow NRIs to cast votes in countries where they reside and the Supreme Court has rejected some earlier pleas, but the UAE based NRI businessman is firm about his move.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Dr Shamseer Valayil Parampath, said: "I have filed the writ petition in the Supreme Court because many NRIs have been talking about participating in the election process back home, but cannot do it because it is not feasible for many to travel to India to cast their votes.

"I used to cast my vote when I was in India. After coming to the UAE to work and then to run my own business, I don't get time to travel home to participate in the elections.

"While many other expatriate nationals in the UAE take part in their national elections, a vast majority of Indians are denied the same right."

He said very senior Indian lawyers are being considered for arguing the case, which asks the Government of India to revoke a provision in the relevant rules.

Dr Shamseer is Managing Director of Life Line Healthcare Group in Abu Dhabi and is the recipient of the Pravasi Bharathi Award this year.

"It is a writ petition for the basic civil rights of Indian citizens living abroad. For me there is no politics," he said.

"When technology is so advanced and even the US is dependent on Indian software, why can't we use the same for enabling our own people," he said.

As the world's largest democracy, India, going to poll, millions of Indians living abroad are unable to exercise their franchise despite several earlier promises.

It is extremely disappointing to note that since the country has a minister responsible for overseas affairs, nothing has been done to address this long pending issue.

Elections of federal and state levels are the exclusive occasions for the voice of expatriate Indians to be heard by responsible administrations. However, they are being continuously denied any such opportunities with no proper validations despite their huge involvements in remittance and developmental projects back home since decades. It is not viable for those who have the rights to vote and their names are in the list of voters to travel all the way to India to enjoy their privilege of voting, due to the soaring air travel expenses.

As far as expatriate Indians are concerned, they should have the facility to cast their vote at the country's diplomatic missions at respective locations. Their voting can influence a lot to change the tone of India, especially when the country is desperately looking forward to change.

"Most of the NRIs who enrolled their names in the electoral list are from the Malabar region of the northern districts in Kerala. Their votes can be a decisive factor in the results of at least four or five constituencies."

Nihmathullah Ali Thayyil, the media convener of the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) in Dubai " which chartered a flight to send about 180 voters to Kerala on Monday " echoed similar sentiments. "I personally know close to 500 KMCC Dubai members who have enrolled in the voters list. Most of them could not fly due to various personal reasons. If online voting facility becomes a reality, all of them would cast their votes for this election and it will have its impact in the Malabar constituencies. And there is no doubt tens of thousands on Indians in the UAE will enrol their names in the electoral list soon after that," said Nihmathullah, who missed the flight to vote due to his wife's health concerns.

When she does mistake then only she will learn na. It is sad to see such reporting from TOI and such an attitude from a young celebrity.

On one hand, we see one youngster Shanky urging people to vote and on the other hand we read about Prats thinking of this as a holiday...

I hope all people, either young or old go and vote in this election and do our part in bringing about a change we all want for our country.

This is for MODS

The sole purpose of posting this article is to bash a particular actress on her personal choices.
The actress is no longer a part of this serial.
Also this article has nothing to do with the content of the serial.
It has nothing to do with the professional choices of the actress.
This article is purely based on her personal choice whether to exercise her right to vote or not, but is used as an excuse to bash the actress.
This post should be closed because it has nothing to do with the serial or its content or character . It is just a personal choice of an actress who is no longer a part of the current show.

If this article has no relevance with the content, story, current actors or characters of the show then why is it allowed to post here.

And if I remember clearly then there was a forum rule here which said that all things and articles about Pratyusha should be posted in a special thread called "Everything about Pratyusha here" specially created by Mods.

Then why a separate thread is created for this particular article????

And I also remember most of the members who have posted here used to guide others to that particular thread whenever we wanted to post anything about Pratyusha, so how come they themselves forgot those forum Rules??

Word 👏
But u know These rules only Apply on particular fan grp not others...There's a famous line frm "Animal farm"
Some people r more equal than others...tht applies here.

Since TOI is a gospal of truth I am sure all its others reports like Married actress accusing her co star of flirting and then both having fights n cold vibes is also 100% true.

I believe there's a difference between TOI publishing rumours as opposed to it publishing articles which have direct quotes from the concerned celebrity, as in an interview of sorts. There's a clear difference, we can't compare the two at any level. There's no, 'according to sources...blah blah blah' bullshit in this.
