Jagya going back to finish his M.S. sort of triggered something in me --
I just want to ask what you all think -- Thirty years ago, I had to take an exam. It was a one-shot exam (no multiple trials, if you don't clear it, then that's it -- it's over for the rest of your life).
Needless to say, I was going through some rebellion against my parents at the time, and didn't take my exams or studying seriously and I flunked. That was that. After the exam, I had intense regret, but it was over. Then life happened, and I moved on. For the most part, I didn't think about the exam... but at some down points in my life, I used to wonder what different trajectory my life would have been if I had cleared the exam.
The other day, I saw my niece studying for the same exam... and I saw the curriculum and her books ... and I have an intense desire to study the curriculum right now... to master what I never did at that time...
But ... I wont be able to give the exam and finish the unfinished task. I am age-barred now.
In my place, would you still study the curriculum regardless? Just to prove to yourself that you could have done it if required?
Or if the studying wont lead to anything at all -- is it best to dump it and just go on with my life. 😆

I say if you want to then do it, you never stop learning anyway and it may benefit you with the knowledge. What's a certificate anyway.

I will say you should study that material! Time and age don't matter when it comes to learning new things. Just because you flunked so many years ago, doesn't mean you should not take it up now. Aren't we always students learning new things all the time anyway? So, take it up sectoreight and All the best!👍🏼

Interesting topic. I personally feel that you should go ahead and study regardless of anything. I know what it feels like having taken a different academic trajectory because of circumstances than the one I really wanted to pursue but that hasn't stopped me from reading up and learning how much ever I can about the subject of my interest. Only regret is maybe I'll never be able to pursue it professionally without proper certifications but I don't let that stop me in the joy of simply learning. So don't let it stop you too 😊.

I would study and sit and give the paper - even if it is for my own satisfaction with my own timer after your niece came back home with her paper.
It will be good to know that i could have cracked it if I had tried.

Sector, if I were you, I would take up this course and study for my own satisfaction, interest and also with a motive to gain further knowledge in the field I like.

Sure, you may not get a chance to write the exam, but you will feel a good sense of satisfaction, and probably you will not have regrets that couldn't complete something.

Besides education / studies never go waste. If not in the conventional fashion, studying for this course will help you in some non-conventional way, opening up new avenues for you.

Wish you all the best.

Thanks Missesha! That was inspiring. 🤗 I appreciate your reply.
I was secretly hoping the same thing -- that maybe studying for the exam with full dedication would generate some sort of cosmic/spiritual energy - which would in turn allow me to take the exam again and professionally certify myself. The exam/certification may not be in the exact format, shape or form of the earlier exam ...but maybe a new exam in a different format may present itself which I am not currently aware of, where I can achieve my original goal in a non conventional way or where it will open up a new avenue !!
