But shiv is more important character than these 2. Till now these 2 characters had weak sides too but shiv was never shown a weak person. Ira does not knw her children very well. She is not bad person but blindly in love with her children and jealous of new female anandi in shiv life. Sumitra wants a nice bride for jagya as she had enough nautanki from her son's life. She just does not want a girl with baggage to enter jagya new life. She is scared Ganga past will destroy J life..typical mother India.
