I've wanted to discuss this earlier also. But after this haveli-burning drama I couldn't hold myself back from posting this. I think BV shows excessive violence for a prime time family show. 😕

I know worse things happen in villages in real life with stuff like incest, honour killings and acid attacks even within families. But all things can't be shown right?

The haveli attack episodes, in fact everything related to Ganga and Ratan track have been excessively violent.

Ratan's men doing recce of whole house in name of workers entering the house for preparations of a function, sealing all doors and windows of the house so that no one can escape and bringing big bottles of mitti ka tel along with them to burn the house, tying up all members of the family, terrorising, typing up and sprinkling mitti ka tel on kid (Nandu) and a heavily pregnant woman (Gehna) and thrashing middle aged men like Bhairon, hitting Jagya on head repeatedly at same spot where he'd been injured before etc. was way too violent! 👎🏼

BV CVs have grown so desperate for shock value and TRPs that they showed Rat's men throwing mitti ka tel on every single person individually? Each had their own scene dedicated to them!

Doesn't it give wrong ideas to potential criminal minds also?

Earlier also, Ganga was shown getting beaten mercilessly and Mannu would be snatched from her ruthlessly. Anandi and Ganga both have been shown holding Mannu and running away from goons! How can they drag kids in violent scenes? 😲

Then we had Jagya and Ganga being fatally attacked by Rat's men recently. So much bloodshed was shown then also.

Previously this show has shown Teepri terrorising, tying up and holding a scythe to neck of an elderly woman DS! And the NADIR of all was - Tausa terrorising and always trying to injure or kill little Varun!! (This one was an absolute shame!) 🤢

We've seen violence in near fatal attacks on pregnant Sugna and Shyam. That was also very violent. Throwing a pregnant woman off stairs of a temple and smashing head, splattering blood of Shyam! Jagya's ragging sequences in Mumbai that made him kind of suicidal were also in bad taste. Little Anandi's friend Chanda being lynched from the village and stones pelted at her (she was also pregnant and a teen!) was bad.

Gehna had suffered marital rape and DV but those scenes were at least not graphically violent!

Colors had earlier also come under fire for showing excessive violence in shows like NAIDL.

I think they are again crossing limits!

8 PM is prime time. BV is a family show and middle aged viewers, elderly viewers, kids etc. also watch it. People might be patients of high BP or have heart problems etc. They can't take such excessive and graphic violence!

People watch shows to relax or take their mind off daily stress. This is why many avoid watching news and stay away from shows like Crime Patrol, Savdhan India and CID!

Give them something light hearted or atleast "dress down" violence (making it obvious but not directly graphic!).

I've seen my parents holding their chest while watching these recent violent episodes or outright switching off TV.

I am sure many others of older age or who suffer from nervous or heart or age related disorders must also feel odd watching such scenes!

People watch shows while having tea or dinner with family. Bloodshed is surely not what they are looking forward to watch!

Even Ekta Kapoor had got lot of flak when in their final years her K soaps started showing excessive violence (people burnt alive or crushed by trucks).

BV should not repeat same mistakes!

Violence on kids, elderly, women and especially pregnant women, and bloodshed is a total NO NO!

High time BV got in control and stopped showing graphic violence.

This is no message. This is clear cut attempt to create shock value! 😡

It is a family soap first. And better function in the realms of the limits expected from them!

Ganga track had too much violence and when goons beat up Jagya was also very violent track. But haveli track was like tom and jerry show where in spite of the fact that they hit each other with bombs, knives etc. nobody gets hurt. Here also everything is OK, except for a few band-aids.

The recent haveli attack track was not Tom and Jerry. The latter are cartoons. Here we had humans among which there were middle aged people, pregnant woman and a child!

Really in bad taste! 👎🏼

Even I agree. Ganga's beating, and later Jagya's, was pretty brutal. And in the hostage track holding a little kid at sword point and throwing oil on him for the purpose of burning was going a bit too far for a prime-time slot.

It was in bad taste but I compared it with Tom and Jerry because of the final effect. People got their head smashed, lots of blood, fainting and just after police came, by miracle everything was OK. Just a few bruises and band-aids. Perhaps Jagya did not need even bandages and Gahna was alright so much so that even the ladies were not concerned whether something wrong could happen to her.

I know that yaar! All I am saying is that there's no need to show violence in detail or long drawn. They can tone down violence. We know Gehna had suffered DV and marital rape. But we weren't "shown" those scenes right?

There are ways of telling something without going into details or graphics.

not only BV... a whole host of shows specialize in glorifying violence... grabs eyeballs... u see.. 🤢 succeeds in raising trps and what not... 🤢

these morons dont realise that this just succeeds in raising violence in society... a lot of people claim to have shot their friends, relatives.. coz they have seen it on tv... and think its cool.. 🤢 engage in deathdefying stunts, tricks.. suicides, in fact.. a japanese videogame... even allows its players to rape women... 🤢 🤢 🤢🤢 i was revolted on reading this fact...

and sadly... though the message flashes.. asking viewers to report anything.. that they have found which violates their moral values, ethics and culture... very few actually succeed in achieving their goal... a lot of this BS is tolerated and even appreciated as ENTERTAINMENT.. 🤢

Is it necessary for the storyline? What sort of message the BV team want to give us?A mere gimmick to gain TRPs. I appreciate your views.
