seriously! sumitra is totally a different person now

Thanks for making this thread TM. You said it so well I was thinking the same. Today cvs indirectly showd the real mentality behind this shagun apshagun thought. One side Anandi and others insisted DS to give her blessings to Gehna, and other side Sumi scolding Ganga bcoz of 1yr old little innocent chiled. Sumi said to Ganga clearly that mannu did apshagun and now in precap she is saing that she was worried for Mannu? So double standerd.

Sumitra is a shame these days! I can't believe this is the same woman who supported Bhairon, Gehna and Anandi in their progressive endeavours and rebellion against backward customs and crimes! 😲

I find it hard to believe she is getting so carried away by foolish suggestions of a stupid naive young girl whose rudeness she had seen firsthand during AnSh marriage and UD convo!

Why has she become so heartless that she shouts and barks at a kid? It is a toddler for heaven's sake!

She and others despised Shyam's tausa for barking at Varun.
Now why so rude and hateful towards a child?

They braved all dangers when they had to intervene in issues related to Phooli, Asha, Gulli and others. Rather when DS said unhone theka nahi le rakha hai, it was these guys who convinced her about importance of helping others if one had the means! Why this shameless turn now?

I am surprised that there was no bad omen in widows like CM and DS participating in the ceremony but a kid is cause of apshagun! That stuff could have slipped from Gehna's hands itself or she might have suffered some pain etc. and it could have fallen. I mean such things can happen in any way. Sumitra was behaving as if Mannu did this deliberately! 😡

And how can she bark at the same woman who risked her own life to save Gehna's life when Basant's enemies attacked them in her room? 😲 How can she forget how Ganga saved Jagya's life and brought him to hospital in time? How much she served Jagya whether he was well or unwell? And how she helped him recover emotionally and get back on his feet? How she forgave him when he hugged her in inebriated state on Holi? (Sumitra is harsh on Ganga now but wanted her to be kind at unintentional mistake of her own grown up son! Why such double standards?)

I hate CVs for mauling her character to this extent! This is not justified. 🤢 Ira can be dawandol or whatever. But why maul existing characters like Sumitra?!

BTW, why was Gehna still holding the stuff even after ceremony was over? Why didn't the women stop Mannu when he went near Gehna in first place? Why no one picked him or try to take care of a lone child?

Lastly, why the hell was Anandi silent?!! Why didn't she defend Ganga and Mannu in this fiasco?! She can tell Ganga to take care of Singhs. But she can't speak up for her when she continously gets insulted by Sanchi and Sumitra?!

Sumitra should also think from a mother's POV. She herself has so much love for Jagya and defends him, stands for him. But she keeps barking at a little son of another woman? Not even once does she think how Ganga would feel as a mother? Hearing all rudeness about her little boy in front of so many people?

Sumitra has become selfish, blind in Jagya's attachment and lust for a virgin bride for Jagya, so crazy that she is hapily letting a stupid girl like Sanchi fill her ears and failing to see sacrifices and devotion of Ganga which are there for her to observe in front of her eyes every day!

Yes Asru, Sumi knew that Sanchi offered to take care of Manu. Yesterday a few people were saying , 'why cant Ganga take care of her child etc etc' I watched the scene today and Gehna asked Ganga to step forward and perform the ritual as well. The camera focused on Sumi acknowledging this request from Gehna and Ganga gestured as if, 'I have Manu, how can I' and Sanchi jumped up in her loud voice and told Ganga you go ahead, I will take care of Manu. Sumitra's dhyaan (focus) was on all this so she definitely knew that Ganga left Manu in Saanchi's care after persuasion from Saanchi herself. Why only Sumitra, everyone in the room knew it.

Everyone nodded their heads for a widow to do the first puja for gehna but when a kid that everyone stood so shocked. I was surprised to see even Anandi is shocked ! She gave long last bashans about everything and now when a kid did throw shagun why is stood up and reacted so shocked and sad??? I can understand others but open thinking minded Anandiji ko kya hua???

Well, IMO, Sumitra has not changed. 😊 She is the same Sumitra like before - dotting Anandi like anything, even more than her own children; there is the same concern for her family and same type of possessiveness for Jagya. ( I know, possessiveness is not exactly the right word, but I acan't find any other word).

Only thing that has changed was Sumitra's reaction was thought to be right by us. Now it's the opposite. 😉

Sumitra ALWAYS thought that no one match her Anandi.😳

Sumitra in her love for Anandi just cut off Jagya from her life. The whole family did that but for a mother, it is really difficult to do so. But Sumitra showed that she can even ignore Jagya on his birthdays. Sumitra or for that matter the entire family turned blind to the "right" things that Jagya did while being with Gauri -
his attempt to save Anandi from the goons, his decision to come back to Jetsar even after putting his education/ career at stake, his suggestions to cure Sugna's son.
Only after Jagya came back to Anandi, they realized how good their son is. 😉

Even now, Sumitra and even DS put an indirect pressure on Jagya to think of Anandi's happiness while choosing his life partner! 🤢

The kind of love Sumi has shown to Anandi, she hasn't shown to Sugna or even Jagya. While Anandi could have been jealous of Ganga, but surprisingly it was Sumitra who showed her tinge of jealousy when she understood that Ganga is like Anandi in every respect.😕

And of course, Sumitra has been most concerned about keeping the family together. When Anandi gave her decision against Basant in the panchayat, it was Sumitra who fought with Anandi for the first time.

Sumitra hated Gauri not only because Jagya ditched Anandi for Gauri but also because Jagya decided to go against his family's wish/ dreams and wanted to live a life of his own. Now, Sumitra feels the same threat from Ganga. She knows that Jagya, in his strive to help Ganga, will put his life and the entire family in danger. Sumitra knows that Jagya will put Ganga's safety before his own life or of the family and hence, she can't tolerate her.

As far as her reaction towards Mannu, her reaction is quiet normal. When I used to break things in my childhood, my mother used to scold me. 😉 I think most of the parents react in such way. If Sumitra could have shed buckets of tears after hearing that her son is going to be father because she thought the child would bind Jagya to Gauri and Jagya would never return to them and to her Anandi, then her reaction towards Mannu is understandable as Mannu is one of the reason her family/ Jagya is in danger. Moreover, the kid made some "mistakes" like spilling oil on the floor which could have lead to accident and now this whole "abshagun" drama. Though, one year old child can't really make mistake as they don't understand anything, but who will make Sumitra understand it? 🥱
