Hi, this is a great thread. I haven't read all the responses yet, intend to savour it later at night with a delicious glass of mocha milk 😆
My views on the topic of the original poster is that in itself, Anandi did indeed intend to mind her business -- partly because Ira and she had problems, and partly because Sanchi had already told her father clearly not to interfere.
However, listening to saanchi talk on the phone set off alarm bells ringing because it was clear that Saanchi was two-faced and trying to present the singhs with a false impression of who she is and what kind of bahu she will be after marriage.
I don't think anandi would have had any issues if saanchi had just worn her sleeveless tank tops and jeans in front of the singhs (instead of dressing in lehengas to impress them in front of them and criticizing the dress as gawar behind their back)... or if saanchi had just declared that she had no interest in kitchen work, instead of pretending to be very interested in cooking and cleaning etc. etc. etc.
Anandi is worried that the haveli folk are being taken for a ride because of saanchi's two facedness.
If saanchi were just being herself, and the singhs had appreciated and accepted her for who she really was, (her clothes, her lack of interest in ghar grihasthi etc.) then I doubt anandi would have said anything. But she feels that the singhs are accepting her on the basis of a false image that saanchi is projecting, and therefore anandi feels the need to 'interfere'. I don't think anandi is wrong in this aspect. I would have done the same.
in that case, anandi is also double-faced because when she put forward the proposition that "this rishta must end", she lied that she was doing it for Sanchi's happiness (this was shown in precap) when in reality she did it to save Singhs from her.
Sanchi's love is more of infatuation kind than real love. If Anandi had pointed this out, it was understandable. But the reasons for which she wants this rishta to end appear to be out of selfishness.
She says it again and again that this rishta will create problems amongst both families. How can it create problems ?
She first imagines that Sanchi will not be able to adjust with jagya and singhs.
Then she imagines that this might result in another divorce, which might further become a problem between the Singhs and Shekhars.
And if this happens, she will not be able to visit her favourite myka... This is her real problem.
It is all her imagination. There is no concrete evidence to say that is exactly what is going to happen.
Secondly, she cant forget all the games dadisa played and all the manipulation she did to get Anandi married to Shiv... She thanks dadisa for the lies she told to get her married to Shiv, but now she wants Sanchi's rishta to break... I find this total hypocrisy.
Anandi must first see how her own marriage with Shiv was fixed !
