@bold...well...anandi did tell shiv about it..and shiv assured her that he will take care of it..so she left it at that...professional integrity could be questioned if hiding this has impacted too many people..or if its a big social issue..in this case it is only his family that got impacted.

This incident cannot be used to judge integrity in professional life. It is entirely a family related matter where emotions play a greater role.Shiv forgave Jagya and DS for slandering HIM. But here Urmidevi and his mother are busy insulting his wife whom he loves and respects very much. If Urmidevi's and his mother's ire and insults were directed at him he would not have reacted so harshly.Anandi also reacted strongly when she first heard Urmidevi's accusations. But later when she learnt that it was DS who was the root cause for all this she wanted Shiv to take action against DS which he chose not to do . That was his way of dealing with people who almost damaged his life.

Precisely this is what decides professional integrity of a person. They have 2 rules one for the outsiders and one for the family and particularly if it is a highly sensitive issue. Tomorrow if Sanchi does something, I am sure it will be hushed. It is this treating of sanchi with kidgloves instead of some strictness that has led Sanchi to behave this way. She has become a spoilt brat.
How Bhairon and Basant, in that order, put up with all the blackmailing of dadisa and they are fortunate enough that dadisa has become normal. Now Sumitra seems to have inherited something from dadisa. I dont know what is her problem if ganga is compared to anandi.

Anyhow I am not blaming anandi or shiv but simply pointing out where they went wrong and they are also human. Afterall to err is human.

It is not professional duty of sarpanch or collector to find who told lies about the collector. What DS did was like gossip, utterly false information about a person (Shiv) told to another person (UD). What DS did was not a crime as per law and so the sarpanch and collector have no duty here. If Anandi told UD that she will find the culprit, it can be said in her personal capacity. Nandu's case was about theft and cannot be compared to UD case. BV writers were wrong if they inculded the dialogue that Anandi in her capacity of sarpanch will find the person who told lies against Shiv.

If something is said about a topic not related to official duty, it is in personal capacity only. Anandi had no obligation to find UD and tell her that it was DS who told lies. UD's daughter was affected because of her mother's actions. Who told her mother to believe some random woman and break her daughter's rishta? UD had the obligation to find the truth and to judge whether Shiv was suitable for her daughter or not. DS is a culprit of Shiv and his family and not UD or her daughter.

Anandi is not a criminal and people say a lot of things in daily life that cannot be assumed to be a promise. There is no issue regarding conduct of Anandi. This issue is purely conduct of DS and UD and to some extent Shiv (because he did not tell his family).
