Thanks. Yes today's episode was good. 👍🏼 Prank Anandi played on Sanchi was great. Regarding Choti maa even in urban India it is still there. The youth should force and bring the change. From the place where I come from the widows don't give haldi kumkum to ladies.😭

Of course our Indian society is stil full of prejudices and social stigma...western society is much more open in that respect. I am glad that BV is addressing them.

Looking forward to this episode with the hope of an improved storyline and fresh track.

I know, I got into big trouble when I asked the elder lady of the house to give me kumkum. Even I didn't listen, I told I would prefer the blessing of the person who I respect than somebody else and I wouldn't leave the house until she gives me kumkum and coconut. Finally she gave in and blessed me.

Oh..so nice of you. You were the agent of change...kudos!

Personally i don't support these discriminating customs...but to change the mindset of an entire population is a difficult task. If shows like BV can contribute to a small percentage of social change, that is a great accomplishment.

Bravo 👏👏👏

I hope she understood that you were coming from a place of love and respect. Excluding people simply due to tradition and customs and forgetting the essence of the act being performed is something that annoys me no end. I'm glad you took the necessary step forward 😃

Thanks for starting this thread, libsrock 😃

I definitely enjoyed today's episode! Big sign being that I watched the entirety of it instead of little bits and pieces 😆

Yay chulbuli A is back! Loved how S looked so lattu seeing her in action 😆 Also really happy that BV has started addressing social issues once again instead of showing an endless stream of celebrations/festivals. Gives me hope that CVs actually have plans for proper story-telling in the future.

Though not exactly satisfied that A had to colour CM head-to-foot in front of everyone, I do understand that it adds to the drama quotient. Loved her dialogue though about the colours of nature and how CM has managed to honour her husband whilst still spreading happiness. So good people!

Agree libs it was a great episode.

The CV's deserve an applause for bringing in this social issue through Anandi which actually appears to be a trivial issue but is not in actual sense. Widows are made to stay away from many such things which reflects the narrow mindedness of the society as a whole.

On giving a benefit of doubt to this custom, I believe this idea of making a widow dress in simple plain white clothes was introduced hundreds of years back for the safety of that woman who would not have a husband(a physically stronger person) to protect her from the harmful beings. IMO This rule eventually got exploited and changed into a custom by the male chavunists of the next generations This is simply depriving the women off their rightful happiness. On the other hand ,there would also be women who choose to stay that way out of the love they have on their husband ... they can allowed to do as they wish. But making it a rule and pushing them into doing such things in the name of 'bad omens' is brutal.

i would say no for even allowing the woman who follow widow's custom out of love for their husband
they love their husband and their husband's happiness will be in their happiness so will they like that after they have left their wives are trying to live a black and white life...love is a feeling that brings positiveness in a person and is related to happiness than why should people do something unhappy in name of love?

Umm...this is debatable. Simple plain white clothes and a white tilak reflect peace and serenity . Some may prefer that.

So IMO these customs are wrong when they are forced on women. I would not keep a widow aside saying that" it is a bad omen" and all..that is sheer nonsense.
In CM's case, Anandi was right...CM should put aside the 'rules' and start participating in such occasions..as she would only give more happiness to herself and to others around her.
