Part 4: anandi continued to toss and turn in bed and think about past. Jagya marriage to Ganga had strengthened gangas case as manus future would be secure with her now. Also she had singh family wealth behind her now to fight the legal battle. Shiv had seen that jagyas sincere effort to redeem himself for his actions which had led to gangas character being destroyed in villagers eyes. It had been a marriage of compromise.
Ratan when started seeing signs of loosing his case, he had and his goons had kidnapped shiv on way to his work. Anandi remembered clearly when police chief had come to tell her this. She had been alone and her whole world had shook before her eyes. On hearing the news shekhars had rushed to jetsair. Anandi had finally had a huge meltdown when Ira had hugged her. Saanchi had gone in overdrive and had blamed anandi for dragging once again shiv into this mess created by her ex husband jagya. Her words had hit anandi hard and she had blown up on saanchi for first time. Her pain had been too raw for her to have any control. Saanchi had been dumbstruck on seeing the passion and pain on her bhabhis face for her brother. Saanchi on that day realized that her bhabhi and Bahiya were deeply connected and totally in love with each other.
For many days after that te police had tried to track ratan and that had been torture for anandi. She had lost all rational thought process and she knew deep down to blame Ganga and jaguar was wrong but she could bear to see Their faces in those dark days. she had just wanted shiv back and the thought that she may not see him again had broken her spirit. Her days were full of activity of trying to find shiv but her nights were full of anguish when she closed her eyes she would imagine him wisphering in her ears and caressing her with love only to open her eyes to emptiness. Then one day Jagya had come up with a lead regarding ratans whereabouts. Police had figured that it would be best to infiltrate rattans houshold to get more information by sending someone as a candidate for a maid servant that he was looking for. Anandi had volunteered to be that person. Everyone had objected vehemently but anandi had been beyond reasoning. So she had entered ratans house as a servant and had one day overheard them talking about moving shiv from one of the goons house to somewhere remote. Anandi had risked everything and followed one of the goons to shiv. She still remembered like yesterday her joy when she had set eyes on a tied up shiv in that shack. They had managed to escape from the shack but had been chased by ratan and his goons. Anandi had informed police on her cell but due to darkness of night anandi and shiv had to hide in the mountains outside ratans town.
Anandi smiled on remembering that night as it had been a joyous night. They had hid in a small indent in the mountain? Shiv had lit a fire to ward off any animals. They had reigned kisses on each other with intermittent desperate hugs and tears of joy to be together once again. It had led to raw primitive sex. Anandi still blushed on rembering their hurried desperate love making on a rocky dirt floor, in open cold night. After they were sated shiv had also lectured her for taking such a great risk. But anandi had just Gazed at her beendsa with a smile and he had irritadely stopped because he knew that it was not through to anandi. In morning police had found them and escorted them home. Whole family shekhars and singhs had celebrated and cried tears of joy. Jagya Was also releaved. Next day when police had chased ratan to arrest him he had died in the encounter and manu had been brought home to a happy Ganga.
Anandi regretted what happened after that. jagya was settling in and was happy being father to Manu. Him and Ganga were still not truly husband wife but they were developing a bond but then a very pregnant gauri had arrived at haveli.
Anandi fell asleep finally in between her tossing and turning.
Chapter 5: Next morning they went to hospital and doctor said that in a day or two they will move dadu out of ICU and into a regular room. It was yet another night for anandi without shiv. Close to midnight she could not take it anymore and knocked on mahis bedroom. Mahi asked her with great concern if anything was wrong. Anandi told him that she cannot sleep and mahi was stumped as to what he can do about thar. He had idea he told his bhabhi that he will get her some warm milk or sing a lori to her. Anandi laughs and says no mahi Bhaiya, I want you to take me to the hospital. Mahi smiled because now he knows why his dear bhabhi cannot sleep. He agrees and drives her to the hospital. Shiv on seeing them is very angry at mahi for bringing anandi to the hospital so late in night. But mahi quickly turns around and starts to leave saying bhaiya I did what I was ordered to do now you deal with bhabhi. Shiv asks anandi why she is here and that she should be resting. Anandi says I cannot sleep with him being here and that she has not had any consistent sleep for past week and she is very sleep deprived so he should not yell at her in fact should help her. Hearing his irrate Babhi reprimanding his brother mahi throws his hand and signals to shiv that he is tired and is leaving.
Shiv knows he is fighting a loosing battle because when his gentle sweet wife gets into this demanding wifey mode he caves like a house of cards. Shiv creates a narrow bed out of multiple chairs and couch in the hallway outside dadus ICU room. He wraps his arms around anandi and they both fall asleep half way sitting and half way lying. Anandi had been fatigued due to not enough sleep but now was sleeping like a baby with her face tucked in on her husbands chest like a favorite pillow. Early at dawn jagya came to tell shiv that he is going home as his night shift was over and that lal Singh will cover. That is how he found shiv and anandi sleeping deep sleep in most uncomfortable position wrapped in each others arms. Shivs chin resting on top of anandis head that is tucked in on his chest. Anandis face has a peaceful look like she is a angel sleeping on a cloud. He stood there like a statue with pain etched all over he face. He has moved on in life and is completely aware of the fact that anandi is deeply in love with shiv but sometimes on moments like these he burns with envy and regret at what he threw away. Just then shekhar family comes rushing in they had realized on getting up that anandi had not slept at home and was at the hospital. They were worried for her health in her pregnant state. But then all break out in a grin to see how shiv and anandi are sleeping. Mahi laughs and hits his brother on his shoulder and says uthu jawan duty per so rahe ho. Shiv gets up with a jerk and anandi also wakes up due to all the commotion. Both shiv and anandi are deeply embarrassed to see whole family surrounding them. Shiv starts to explain to his mom. But Ira stops him and says She understands how difficult it is for shiv anandi to be apart. Mahi teases his Bhabhi if she finally slept well tonight. Anandi is all blushing. Jagya walks away.
That day dadu is moved into a private room with a bed for relative in it. Now that dadu is stable and it is more easier to sleep at the hospital alok decides to take over night shift from shiv and let whole family take turns during daytime. Anandi is happy to have her favorite pillow back home.
