Stuti.,After what extent S had gone to get J back to his family and how J had finally taken S's jesture., I do not find this scenario neither farcical...nor weird.It just shows., the family as well as J have understood the innate goodness of S...and more than happy to have him in their company...simultaneously adhering to custom & tradition of inviting a newly wed daughter to come over with her new family.As long as the current does not have any problem ., I feel., even an Ex should not be having any...and in this case., J & A have already come to an understanding., though unsaid., that they will still be well wishers...and S surely understands this equation..Coming to remembrances on part of J., they are definitely an outcome of his guilt which is naturally expected of.No one can escape the fruits of their karma., be it sweet or bitter.
Once again at a variance, continuing our ongoing debate Adi😛...This intermingling, right from the outfields of Laxmiganj, is weird and unnatural- no matter what hogwash of a filial amicability is pounded here in the storyline...Would not even a relatively more open urban people desire a discrete space or distance amongst fresh ex divorcees and remarried couple, no matter a what level of cordiality they might have attained? To see, a crackling bonhomie, outdoing each other, in such a conservative corner of India, is too much. So for me, both, the extended gesture and its acceptance, remain farcical. Innate goodness of one or meek acceptance of other has not much to offer as a base to a tenable scenario.
As for 'more than happy' and custom abiding elders, though other time quite seasoned and canny veterans, here, under a compelling drive to avail themselves rapturous, immaculate 'companies', they fain disregard, 'karma' inflicted, inevitable heart burns of their famously beaten 'weakling' son. With constant upholding of hospitality to even 'an alternatively expected', adopted 'daughter' and her second husband (of course, under banding weight of current debts). This continued (not former) superseding of an 'actual' by an adopted is as much unreal as the degree of their current(not former) enthusiasm. First time, even veteran Surekhaji, appeared mechanical and soapy in her empty giggles.
So adi, here I am, skeptical, and 'out of tune'. May I be?😆
