Did you leave Saubhagyavati Bhava for Balika Vadhu?
Not at all! I don't know why people are thinking this way. My character culminated in Saubhagyavati in October. Much after that, in December, Balika worked out. It was just coincidence that after two weeks of the last day of my shoot in Saubhagyavati, I got this opportunity.

What is your character, Ganga, like?
Ganga has a lot of layers and depth in her character. It is a very interesting role. She has fire and energy. She has this constant struggle with life. She is not formally educated, but her knowledge, wisdom and intelligence comes from experiences in life.

What made you take up the role?
I took it up because of the writer, Purnendu Shekhar. He writes beautifully, and I have immense faith in him. I have worked with him earlier too. I loved the story telling pattern of Balika Vadhu. I am very fortunate to have been trusted with this character.

There were reports that you would be replacing Pratyusha Banerjee as Anandi...
It came as a lot of surprise as the reports came even before I started talking with the production house. The reports were baseless. Mine is a huge character, set in an interesting story. No character is being marginalized. Yes, there is a protagonist, Anandi, but you remember every character with name. Every character is important and has a story.

How is it different from anything that you have done before?
I have never done serials which deal with rural India. So it is a new experience for me.
How was your experience of shooting with Shashank Vyas, who plays Jagya?

I have just shot two scenes with him as of now. He is a cooperative and interesting actor. He is clear in his head and is dedicated and sincere. I haven't interacted much with him as these are my first days on the set and I am nervous.

Did you watch Balika Vadhu before you became a part of it?
Yes, and I have been an admirer of the show. I have known about the malaise of child marriage from the show. The issue has been dealt with intelligently and responsibly.

So when are you getting married?
Not for the next 2-3 years.

You have spent your childhood in Kolkata...
I was born in Begusarai in Bihar. Then I spent 10 years in Kolkata and later hopped from Kathmandu to Delhi and finally, Mumbai. I went back to Kolkata around two years back after a gap of 14 years, and though the city had changed, the people hadn't. Everybody is cultured and knowledgeable there. I have emotional memories of the place. I so miss the rolls and phuchkas in new market. You don't get that size anywhere in Kolkata.

Would you like to be a part of Bengali TV or movies someday?
If something interesting comes up, I would love to do something in Bangla in future, especially since I can speak Bangali fluently.

I every time completely disagree with this view whenever Jagaya is being criticized for doing same with Gauri now what he did with Anandi previously ?and i am confused How ?Whatever he did with Anandi that included his selfishness his deceit but for whatever he did with Gauri now he himself has been cheated by selfish Gauri and to top it all a harsh rejection came from Gauri's side first not him .If you see the episode at first there no where he said I am going to leave you neither he said you don't fit to be my wife ,all he was questioning her revealing her truths what she did behind his back also blaming him for failing to see through her actions her intention but believing her blindly but as soon as she in harsh way says'' now what this mother's ladla will do go back to your family fall at their feet that family who rejected you heck whatever you do now I don't care for you what you do now where you go 'now ' ( instead of accepting she did any wrong she is rejecting him ), an angry Jagaya has been shown shocked ,an angry revolting voice has been turned into painful , rejected , suppressed voice saying ''when did you care for me before ever all you were doing using me for your purpose you used me to attain your purpose you got that I was the one who lost'' , wiping tears then he said and made promise I won't forget what you did with me will never see your face ever again so her rejection provoked this anger in him to take this step otherwise where he was running away from her before ? Tell me where he tried to leave her before or shown that intention he will leave her after her countless wrong doings that hurted him?What we expect him to do here?Give her a hug , give a kiss to her on her cheek ?

Jagaya has been much more sincere to Gauri in their relation after marriage unlike her , it is she who started lying, evading, misleading post marriage. Malice, ire and destructions she tried to plant on his family The loss of their child was a ruin solely on her hand. Her wrong works are in abundance he kept tolerating a lot but now what reality of her opened to him what she has been doing behind his back what he considered her as and how she is rejecting him after that instead of accepting she did wrong . For any person it is too much to take so revolt will come here its not Jagaya's selfishness any person in his place would have revolted and shown his anger by distancing himself from such a partner with whom he is thinking of living all his life and what is her real face and what a deep wound of betrayal and rejection she has given to him Jagaya has made enough sacrifices for Gauri left all for her but what she did for him ever sincerely? what sacrifice she made post marriage ? is there any one where behind she has no malicious intention ? so why there is so much criticizm on him regarding Gauri he is wrong he is wrong he should do all but for her not any iota of shame to accept her misdeed and ask forgiveness from him?😳

The main difference between them was he had affection with his family but she had only bitterness in her heart for others. Was she ever obedient to her parents atleast when they asked her to convey that pergnancy message to jagya? woh phone kiya kya? why? Now he want 2 start his professional life on his own. where he is wrong? cv will disclose the character abt gauri and her baby later till then have patience. Reg. jagya ganga marriage also not confirmed. As of now we like nd wish to see jagya and his new trk of story (ganga) that's all.
