Finally Anandi got through to Shiv. He was very happy to see her number flash on the screen of his cell. His babyish pout turned into his huge smile showing his pearly whites. Anandi previously rarely called him but now she had started to make calls.

Anandi: Good morning. Anandi said in her chirpy voice.

Shiv: Aapki morning abhi hui hai kya? Shiv sounded a bit grumpy.

Anandi: Kya hua aise chid kyun rahe hain?

Shiv: Main kahan chid raha hoon?

Anandi: Accha theek hai nahi chid rahe. Par baat kya hai bataiye. Mood kharaab hai kya?

Shiv: Main kabse aapko phone kar raha tha par engage aa raha tha? Aap jaanti thi na ki mera phone aayega? Aapko line free rakhni chahiye thi. Mood kharab nahi toh kya garden garden hoga?

Shiv: Accha hua Sarpanchji aapne abhi phone kiya pehle karti toh engage milta. Wo kya hai na main bhi apne ek laute chote bhai ki ek lauti badi bhabhi se baat karne ki koshish kar raha tha par unka phone nahi mila. Aaj unki shaadi hai toh main unhe Mubarak baat dena chahta tha par unka phone nahi mill raha tha wo bhi shayad apne hone wale unse baat karne ki koshish kar rahi hongi. Chaliye koi baat nahi ab aapka phone aaya hai toh aap hi se baat kar leta hoon. Waise aaj aapki shaadi hai na? Congratulations.

Anandi: Thank You. C S aapko bhi congratulations aaj aap ki bhi shaadi hai na?

Shiv: Thank You.

They both laugh at the way they were talking about each other in the third person.

Shiv: Aap theek se soyi raat ko?

Anandi: Ji main theek se soyi. Aap raat ko theek se soye Ya nahi? Aapki awaaz se lagta hai ki shayad theek se soye nahi. Devarjee kharrate maar rahe the kya? She teased him as she had heard he was sharing his room temporarily with Mahi.

Shiv: Nahi bahut achhi neend aayi. Par ma ne mujhe jagakar galat kiya. Main sapne dekh raha tha.

Anandi: Aaj sapne dekhne ka nahi unko sach karne ka waqt hai C S.

Shiv: Haan ab har sapna sach hoga aur har adhoori aas poori hogi. Waise jaldi se aapki aajke ab tak ke schedule ki mujhe report dijiye. Aap ne kya kya kiya subah se?

Anandi: Hmm theek hai humaare Jaitsar ke C S main aapko detail mein report deti hoon. Aaj subah mujhe ma aur bapusa ne jagaya. Sab bahut bhavuk ho gaye the. Saare ghar mein dhoom machi hai. Dsa, Badi masiji aur Bade dadusa sab ko daant rahe hain agar zara sa bhi waqt barbaad karte hain to. Apne maayke ko maine jee bhar ke dekh liya. Ma aur bapusa ke saath pooja ki. Bas thodi der pehle phir se naha ke nilki hoon. Ab tak towel mein hi hoon. Dsa ne dekha toh chillayengi. Ab aap bataiye apne kya kya kiya?

She was in flow of convo and whenever she was with her C S she never realized the things she used to say or do. Shiv also did not make her realize that she told him that she was just towel clad. He imagined her in a skimpy little white towel and then imagined him taking a cold shower to suppress whatever rush he was feeling. He wanted to and will wait till she is not ready to experience his love. He had promised himself to be with her in every way but physical. They would be one mind, body and soul someday when she wants to. For now he would be with her one in mind and soul.

Shiv: Maine bhi pooja ki hai. Humaare kamre ka toh bura haal hai. Mahi, mera aur mere saare friends ka saara samaan yahaan wahaan pada hai. Humaara room kam store room zyaada lag raha hai. Aapne naashta kiya?

Anandi: Aap zyaada mat chinta kijiye. Shaadi ka ghar hai na is liye saara samaan faila hai. RAAT tak sab theek ho jayega aur nahi hoga toh hum milkar humaara kamra saaf kar lenge. Aaj ke din kisipar gussa mat kijiyega. Aapne nashta kiya?

Shiv: Aap mujhe ghumaiye mat pehle maine poocha hai.

Anandi: Dekhiye aap meri baat suniye aur uske baad koi bachkani harkat nahi karenge. Mera vrat hai jab tak kanyadaan nahi ho jata. Ab aap bhook hadtal mat kijiyega. Chup chap nashta kar lijiyega. Promise kijiye. Sugna jiji aati hongi mujhe tayyar karne main rakhti hoon.

Shiv: Promise. (He said with fingers crossed). Itni jaldi kya hai aapko phone rakhne ki? Bill ki chinta mat kijiye ab wo sab meri responsibility hai main sambhal loonga. Aur baaten kijiye na.

Anandi: Wo kya ha na mujhe late hona pasand nahi hai. Aaj meri shaadi hai aur main apne C S ko intezaar nahi karwana chahti jaise unhone mujhe karwaya hai.

Shiv: Sorry baba kaan pakadta hoon der se aane ke liye maaf kar dijiye. Aaj aapko intezaar nahi karwaoonga.

He knew her underlying meaning of his coming late. She had only one complaint that he came late in her life. She never expressed it verbally but her eyes spoke volumes on this matter.Shiv's has an FB. Shiv and Anandi were engaged to be married. It was suppose to be a beautiful period of their lives. Jagat had come back and had begun to cause pain to her again. He wanted to keep her occupied in Work so that she doesn't remember her painful past. They were as usual driving through the narrow lanes of Jaitsar and moving towards the outskirts to go to a nearby village. Shiv loved to listen to music when he drove. His favorite CD was left in his other jeep. Anandi knew about his love and had fallen in love with his love. She had never heard film songs but was a music lover herself. They stole glances at each other every now and then. Anandi saw him drive without his usual passion. His music was missing. She turned on the FM radio. The radio jockey had announced that it was the day for lovers and it was going to rain. They look out the jeep.

Shiv: "Baarish? No ways Aasmaan kitna saaf hai."

Anandi: Ho bhi sakti hai. Registaan mein bearish ka koi bharosa nahi.

Shiv: Agar baarish ho jaye toh maza aayega. Aapko pata hai mujhe baarish bahut pasand hai. Baarish mein long drive aur light music bas aur kuch nahi chahiye hota hai mujhe tab.

Anandi: Accha. Dekhiye baarish shuru ho gayi. Maine FM Radio laga diya hai ab ye RJ surile romantic soft gaane bajayega. Aap ek kaam kijiye jeep rok dijiye main yahin utar jaati hoon.

Shiv: Kyun? Hame toh Manekpur gaon jaana hai.

Anandi: Aap hi ne kaha na ki baarish aur music mil jaye toh aapko aur kuch nahi chahiye toh main kyun kabab mein haddi banoo aapke, aapke music aur iss baarish ke beech?

Shiv: Aap bhi na in sab ko main pehle enjoy karta tha par aapke saath hone se main ye sab mehsoos karne laga hoon. Aapke bina ye sab ab soona lagta hai.

They smile and blush. The RJ plays a few romantic numbers. They enjoy the music and the rain. Anandi had begun to appreciate filmy music. She wanted Shiv to gift her few of his favorite music CDs but he never got her cues and she could never say it openly. The program got over but the new RJ had another conceptual show coming up. The theme was complaints of lovers. A few songs were played and then there was a request for the song from 'Duplicate'. The song played and the mood in the jeep changes.

Shiv from the corner of his eyes looks at Anandi's eyes, her big beautiful kholed eyes. Her eyes were one of her best features. She had light brown almost light copper colored lenses. She was not aware that he was looking deep into her eyes. She was gazing at the natural beauty. Shiv was driving slowly for her because she loved slow driving as it gave her a chance to observe the beauty of Mother Nature. Shiv had always seen the pain in her eyes. Her eyes would tell him everything that went on inside her. He had read something in her eyes the day he found out that she was a BALIKA VADHU.

As the song progressed he saw tears roll down her cheeks. She did not bother to hide them from him. He thought that she was crying because of a few lines of the song. He mentally scolded himself that he should have turned it off as he knew the lyrics of the song. IT had become one of his favorites after coming to know her. He hesitated but then wiped her tears. She turned to look at him and there it was the same look in her eyes her had seen many a times. She was complaining. At times her inside would scream this complaint. WHY? Why did he not come earlier in her life? It would have been so much better for the both of them. She would not have gone through the hurt and he would not be feeling hurt right now as she did not reciprocate his feelings.

Shiv is jerked out of his fb as he heard Anandi.

Anandi: Kya hua kahan kho gaye C S. Aur aap Sorry kyun keh rahe hain. Maine hi toh Jaitsar ko zilla banvane mein itni der kar di. Warna C S toh kabke yahan aa jaate hain na?

Shiv: Nahi saari galti aapki nahi hai. Wo kya hai na mere solah somwaar ke vrat poore hote hote bahut der ho gayi. Isliye to aap mujhe itni der se mili. Par mera kya kasoor ma ne mujhe itni der se bataya vrat ke bare mein. Par accha hua na yahaan mere vrat poore hue aur wahaan aapne Jaitsar ko zilla banva diya. Humaara milna sahi waqt par hua tab jab hona tha.

Anandi: Aap bhi na kaisi baaten karte hain 16 somvaar ke vrat ladkiyaan karti hain accha pati pane ke liye. Dsa ne bhi mujhse pichle saal vrat karne ko kaha tha. Un dino hi mere vrat poore hue the jab aap yahaan aaye the. Koi aapki baaten sunega toh na jaane kya sochega. 16 somvaar ke vrat.. She laughed

Shiv: Kyun vrat par sirf ladkiyon ka copy right hota hai kya? Agar ladkiyon ko accha var chahiye toh kya humein acchi patni nahi chahiye hoti hai? Hum apni patni ki lambi umar aur inki khushaali ke liye vrat bhi kar sakte hain.

Anandi: Hmm toh iska matlab aap mere saath Teej, vat savitri, Kadwa chauth ye saare vrat rakenge?

Shiv: Koi Shak?

Anandi: Nahi koi shak nahi hai. Is liye promise liya ki aap abhi naashta kar lijiye.

There was a knock on both the doors. They said good byes and see you later. Anandi realized that she was in the towel all the while she sweetly chatted up with C S.
