A drop of tear escaped the corner of Anandi's eye as she entered her room. She felt numb yet buoyant. Finally she freed her conscious from the burden that had been suffocating her to death. The burden that was not just letting her past haunt her present but affecting her future too. Anandi's heart skipped a beat as she heard the wind striking the chimes in her room into a tuneful motion. The passionate resonance struck a chord within her, overwhelming a fountain of emotions. She winced as she thought of him.
"Main janti hoon Shiv maine aapko bahut taqleef di hai…par main aapse sorry nahin kahungi. Kyunki main janti hoon ki ek aap hi hain jo uss taqleef ke maine ko samajhte hain. Jo ye samajhte hain ki woh taqleef jitni aapko hui hai utni hi mujhe bhi" Anandi gasped speaking to the chimes.
Closing her eyes she let out a sigh. Everything was dark and melancholy. She sat in a dark corner looking wretchedly at a closed window. Her eyes, fatigued due to crying and hoping, ached mercilessly. She tried hard to keep them open, but the tears burned and blurred her vision; making her flutter. She pinched her eyes shut slipping herself into a darker zone when suddenly a ray of light warmed her moist eyelids. She flinched at the sudden luminosity. Struggling to open her eyes, she shielded them with her minuscule fingers. Her eyes ached no longer as the light spread itself in the entire room, soothing the goose bumps on her skin. She let her hand ungaurd her eyes. As her wistful gaze moved towards the window, she saw him. He radiated pure white light smiling divinely to her. He was tranquil and unscratched, just the way she wished herself to be. Calm and content. Soon she felt herself drifting buoyantly towards him. She walked as he smilingly waited for her to come along. Reaching him she looked into his deep eyes that twinkled beatifically. He reached out to her hand, intertwining his firm fingers into hers, he walked her towards the light and together they merged into it.
Anandi felt light as she opened her moist eyes. Something sank in as she looked at the chimes still dancing lyrically to the tune of the breeze. Wiping her tears she moved towards one of her closet. A profound smell overwhelmed her senses as she opened it. It was full of some special things…things allied to him. She felt her breaths becoming heavy as her fingers brushed on his light purple shirt he had forgotten the day he repaired the roof of the cowshed. A little smile touched her lips as she remembered herself scolding him for being stubborn about a change of clothes. She so cannot see him being neglectful about his health. It ushers within her, an irrepressible urge to take care of him. Her heart made a flip as her eyes now rested on something else – The roses. They had now dried into beautiful souvenirs of their budding friendship and affection. Anandi sighed at the thought. She had never had a mate like him. Though there had been many but no one particularly like him. He was patient and empathetic, giving her emotions, all the time and space to bud with their own natural pace. Keeping the roses aside, she picked up one of the notes he had been writing her since they were just fellow workers. As she re-read the notes one by one, she felt herself recapitulating his gradual invasion into her inner space. Layer by layer, he had siphoned off all her sorrows, thereby filling that void with his own imprint. For that one moment, Anandi felt as if she can feel him all around and within herself. She felt herself sinking into the ecstatic realm he had progressively created around her – with his trust, care and love😳
Amidst this world full of him, Anandi's eyes suddenly rested upon the mirror he once gifted her. As soon as she saw her reflection in the mirror, she felt as if a realization had dawned upon. In the middle of all these things of him, she found herself. Her heart swelled up seeing the girl in the mirror. It was not her but someone else. Probably Shivraj Shekhar's best friend, his future wife. She felt like a free bird – Her battered wings being freshly medicated, inspiring her to pursue new heights and horizons.Wiping off the moisture from her eyes Anandi looked at he chimes and spoke "Aapne mujhe bahut kuch diya hai Shiv, par ab main dena chahti hoon - apni zindagi ko ek mauka. Phir se jeene ka. Ek baar phirse jeene ki koshish karna chahti hoon…dil se khush hona chahti hoon aur sab kuch peeche chod ke aapke saath aage badhna chahti hoon"😳
