BV deals with some heavy concepts that trips me up: Ehsaan (Gratefulness), Maafi (Forgiveness), Prayascit (Repentance). They are not black n white concepts...with clear answers...and there are proverbs every which way... "Ghar ka bhula shayam peh lauta" ya "Kuch galatiyoon ka maafi nahi hoti?"... they leave me scratching my head even without dandruff🤣🤣 So, let me empty my mind here b4 I end up with migraine:😆
Ehsaan (Gratitude) - CM is concerned the Singh's ehsaans will lead A to accept J back as her pati. Yeh toh nahi hogi unless J can raise the dead since Anandi is bound by Bhago ki Vaachan. Then there is Gauri ki Baby Dukh...neither of which CM is aware of. But, Anandi will surely soften...already she feels guilty about her inability to forgive Jugya. Seeing DS, B, etc. heartbroken particularly DS and seeing J in his miserable state she will certainly soften further. Then there is her habit of being J's savior and shield. Old habits die hard. All this is not, however, A returning ehsaan...its just A being A. Ehsaan is more transactional. I did X for you, So you do Y for me. No - the rishta btwn her and the Singh parivaar is pyaar not ehsaan. She may well forgive J out of love for the Singhs not J himself.
Maafi (Forgiveness) - J last week was treating it like a PRIZE he had to win. Something he was entitled to because he was "sorry". But, Maafi is not a right or entitlement. It has to be earned by the sinner/wrongdoer. That said, the Giver of Maafi can give it without repentance... Some are going on and on here about how G cannot be forgiven by J because she is not sorry... Sorry, but forgiveness of someone is independent of them apologizing to you. Forgiveness for the giver in many ways is freeing - about the victim letting go of negative baggage/injury they carry...its not a tit-for-tat rishta dependent on the sinner's sorry. In sum, by forgiving J all his sins Anandi frees herself from the pain he's inflicted on her to date including Bhago's death. And its something she can do for herself regardless of the selfishness of his sorry. Forgiveness does not undo changes time has wrought - i.e. JaAn divorce or sagaai with Shiv). It is simply the letting go of her past hurt. Decision not to carry a grudge or pain in her hear toward Jagya. From this perspective, A's perspective that is...Maafi is needed. Its not a prize that J wins... but, Angst that A dumps from her soul! Freeing it to be one with Shiv😉
Prayaschit? Paschyatap? (Repentance? Penance?) - J seems to have changed his mind about this and is now intent on A's barbaadi... But, I ve faith that the CVs will return to this later...when J will become even more barbaad due to his mission or lack of insight/vision... So, let me pontificate on it. Like forgiveness...its an independent concept. The sinner's penance need not be tied to the wronged one's. Penance/Repentance is actually about the sinner setting things right to the extent s/he can or to punish themselves to the extent they feel is appropriate keeping in mind their crimes/sins. Its a self determinate concept...where the goal/standard is set by the sinner and rarely the wronged. The goal maybe maafi, but it cannot be the contractual goal...i.e. if I do x as penance then I will be forgiven for Y sin. True penance is self punishment independent not only of the sinned but, maafi. Its the Sinner's attempt to rise/think beyond Maafi. Its a concept that J definitely does not comprehend as he feels that he has already suffered sufficiently...but, when he actually gets how wrong he is only then may grasp this.
Redemption - what is it? This trips me up more than Repentance... its even more convoluted... its societal recognition that the Sinner is once more worthy. They have risen above their wrongs...not because they have been forgiven, but their good deed out does the bad ones once more I think...

Edit - Applying these concepts to current facts, A & Singhs may forgive J with result that Ghadesar returns home and executes revenge...don't worry his fail is guaranteed... then he will be repentant once more...and we will return where we started - "kuch galatiyoon ki maafi nahi hoti!" 🤣🤣
