It will have to be a completely new face. Someone who can very believingly portray a person being on the verge of madness every time she gets into a spitting rage.

And don't forget the eyes - they have to go all big and round. The voice has to be screechy and almost manic. And above all - she has to be extremely beautiful !

Anjum did an awesome job with Jagya. J is so fantastic that he will still deliver no matter which girl he has to emote with but we as vieweres will surely miss G's pretty face and fits of manic rage.

Panchi and Mansi have been lead actresses...

Gauri is more or less a supporting character...coz the lead is Anandi..

I wonder if they will agree for such a role...Hardly Gauri is shown properly 2 days a week ! These people would prefer a lead I guess...Not sure...

Panchi has been out of work for long (i dunno abt any new show of hers)...maybe she might take...But Mansi has a band or sumthing ...so shez not exactly "unemployed" as such !

@ JuhiRockz: I agree with everything you said. It's that I missed "Dia" so much! But if she could pull it off. it ould be great. She had some really good angry moments in Laado. I thought it would be nice to see her dressed up a bit more modern and let that acting chops show.

I agree about Anjum. She really did a decent job with Gauri and it'll be tough to see someone else in her role.

But I choose to look at the bright side, we could really get an awesome actress if only they do recast...

@ hooked: you made me lol in a good way. I agree about the eyes and expressions. I could go with a new actress. Afterall, PB, SV, and AF were all newbies.

I have truly wanted to see an unhinged Gauri. You know, like the childhood abuse and recent events sending her over the edge. It would be brilliant! But I wonder how they can do that with her pregnancy storyline?

@ togepe30: I wonder if they would choose a good role over the details over who is the lead? But you may be right. It might be an issue. But it would be great exposure and I am thinking Gauri will be getting a lot more scope now due to her pregnancy. But who knows with CV's. I know a few shows where the negative character has held her own and garnered lots of accolades. Anjum did well, no doubt, but maybe someone with more substance... more depth... more experience (like Sid).

Mansi would look good. We need a face with some character here..not your regular gissi pitti gori chitti laal tamaatar.

The best actor for this is Narayanai Sastri but her age will not suit this role at all. So she is out. With an older Jagya, she would however ROCK Gauri.

Mouni Roy would be interesting..but I doubt if she has the acting skills for this role.
