- Why Siddharth Shukla refused to wed!
Siddharth Shukla, who plays Shubh in Babul Ka Aangan, is getting married to Aastha (Aashtha Chaudhary) in the show. However, while shooting for the wedding scene, the actor refused to perform the rituals. We were curios to know why so we spoke to him.
The actor explains, "I realized that the mantra or shlok and even the Panditji was real. I went and told this to my production house and requested them to change the sequence. It is true that I am actor and it was not a real wedding but I was scared. I suggested them to do the pheras first, then the mangalsutra thing and lastly sindoor. Thankfully, they agreed to do it that way."
The relieved actor adds, "After that everything went of very well. Thank God that day my mother was not on the sets otherwise she would have got a heart attack. I will not do a 'proper' wedding scene in the future as well. This jumbling of rituals is fine for me."
Asked about his real life wedding, he says, "I have not thought about it but I want a simple girl. She should be co-operative and caring. I will take care of her and her family and she should do the same. Wedding is like a gamble so you cannot expect so many things from your wedding and partner."
My take:
Okk I dont blame him for that.Even if in BV he prefers to do that i wont mind.Though i know that proffessionalism etc etc are imp but somehow we indians are too sensitive towards issues like these and srsly i respect him for making such a demand. It shows how much he respects the bond of the "real" marriage and the ceremonies.
- Siddharth Shukla is not scared of needles
Sidharth Shukla recently had an accident while riding a borrowed bike. The actor of Baabul ka Aangann Chhootey Naa, had sent his car for servicing and had borrowed a bike from the sets to get home after the shoot. The next morning, on his way to work, an auto came in his way. The bike skidded and Shukla's foot was injured. But he couldn't call in sick. He could attend to his injury only after pack-up. He needed an injection. When asked if he's scared of needles, Shukla laughed, "I used to be quite a daredevil as a little boy and hardly anything scares me.. least of all needles."

- Siddharth:Bad Boy or Good Boy
Siddharth Shukla who plays a baddie in the show Babul ka Aangan Chootey Naa loves every bit of the role because he feels that it gives him the stimulus to work hard.
"I'm loving it. In fact I love it even more than when I was playing a good boy,"
Acting apart, Siddharth is also very fond of biking. A few days ago, while he was enjoying a bike ride at Worli, some kids recognised him. They ran upto him and and asked him for a ride. The actor obliged without making any fuss and he took not one or two kids but all the kids for a ride on his bike. The children were all excited and thanked the actor. Says Siddharth, "I believe that making a child happy is like making God happy. You don't need to go to a temple if you take care of children."

No time for sports: Sidharth
Actor Sidharth Shukla has been a sports freak all his life. He was a first division football player and he still remembers the match he played at the under-19 level against Real Madrid at Bombay Gymkhana.
"It was a very tight match where I'd tackled opponents and taken the ball from one side to the other side. Leonardo, the great 1985 Brazillian football player personally came up to me and congratulated me for my effort. That's something I'll cherish for the rest of my life," says Sidharth who was also the captain of his school's cricket team and ranked fourteen in the whole of Maharashtra in table tennis. So does he still get the time to play considering that he's playing the lead role in Ratna Sinha's Babul ka Aangan Chootey Na?
"My busy schedules don't allow me to pursue my interests, but I'm very passionate about bikes and recently I bought a 2008 Hayabusa from Singapore. I ride it all around town. The amusing thing is when I stop at signals, people come up to me and ask me various questions about my bike," he says proudly talking about how he's been very accident-prone and has got injured a lot of times. "I've met with accidents not because of bad driving, but due to some silly mistakes of my friends. Thankfully they were all minor accidents," says the 6'2 inches lad who was a runner-up at the Manhunt contest some years ago and had also been declared 'Best model of the world' in a compettion held at Istanbul (Turkey) where he beat models from 40 countries to achieve the title.
So while workwise things are great, what's on the pesonal front? "I am single. My love life is very boring. Jo pasand hai woh patati nahin aur jo patati hai woh pasand nahin aati," trails off Sidharth.
- Mother - My World,My life
Share any funny incident where your mom caught you red handed doing something naughty or mischievous?
Once when I was preparing for my exams in school, my mom caught me red-handed when I was making chits to use during the exam. Then it was her hands that did all the talking!!!
What kind of relationship do you share with your mom?
We have fun when together! I share each and everything with her!!
Have you planned anything special for her for Mother's Day?
If I am not shooting, then I will forcefully take my mother out to shop for her. She hates to shop, but I will make her shop..
What advice you would like to give those people who ignore their parents or throw them out when they enter their old age?
I think it's one of the worst things a child can do and one shouldn't forget that when we were kids, it was our parents who took care of us. I feel it is the duty of every grown-up person to take care of his/her parents..
