i was thinking about revenge.
has anyone seen hate story?
it is a riiculous movie but i like one dialogue the hero says :
he says when we decide to take revenge from some one , we should dig two graves one for the enemy and one for ourself.
revenge can consume us and destroy us.
we as human beings have very limited energies. if we consume our selves in the thoughts of getting back at the person , we have lesser and lesser left to lift ourselves.
i think anandi believes in this ideology only. the way she never tried to snatch jagiya back, the way she never wished ay harm to gauri.
she channalised her energies to self improvement.
also when we rejoice is the misfortune of the one we hate, we also get miserable when he achieves something. we cannot control eveyone's life. even if the person has been wrong to us , he may still have good happennign in his life ... agar hum uski lif eme hone wali har cheez se khush aur udaas hote rahe then i think we r allowing them a lot of power over us.
also i think it dsnt harm to be little sensitive to feelings of teh negative characters. we always feel our pain is greater and tend to ignore ... worlds' worst conflicts happen due to this. liek the gaza stripe and palastine issue. both r doign the same to each other n dont realise each pthers; pain. maybe if they do things will resolve.
humm i am not going to attack anyoen postign different opinions becuase this is just a thought ... i dont want to debate over ths. i jsut wanted to share this wisdom my hsuband gave me and which made my life nicer. i wud be glad if people cud read this and mull over it for a minute.
good day guys
see yaa all later.

I for one, am not a sister mary catholic to talk of mercy and forgiveness.
If I can inflict pain on someone who did me wrong, I go ahead and do it. 🤣🤣.

I appreciate and acknowledge your thought as it pertains to the real world but in extension to what Ankit said in another thread, when it comes to media (be it cinema, tv or print) I prefer the evil ones getting their just desserts. I will examine why I watch fictional shows and even those sometimes based on reality. I watch purely for entertainment and escapism value and sometimes educational value. So in this sense I think it's perfectly ok for me to expect a negative character like Jagya and Gauri, suffering like crazy. It gives me satisfaction to see this because I know that such things do not always happen in reality, so I derive some pleasure when seeing it on screen or reading about it in a book. It's an indulgence pure and simple.

it has not happenned to me till now so i can take a guess ... i think i will retaliate but will not let it consume me.
i think the thing which i will do is to distance myself from those people.

But I did not talk about 'projecting' anything to real life. What happens in fiction stays in fiction. Why should I feel empathy or sympathy for a character in a piece of fiction when I don't need to. If Gauri is a fictional character and I want to hate her, I will. But let me add that if I knew a Gauri in real life, I would definitely treat her like a pariah because my set of morals does not condone adultery no matter what the justification.

This reminds me of the 80's tv show Dallas when we all 'loved to hate JR'.😊

i dont beleive with forgive and forget as it sounds great but not really practical, u will not forgvie this u forget the pain and nor vice versa
however i do belive it settling scores and then forgetting , thats a more practical one where u can do that do it and move on, dont keep getting consumed in it.
another fact is that sometimes there comes a time when u cant settle score also nor can u forget, then instead of gonig around in fury and increasing ur baggage it is much better to let go and forget! personally i do this i wieghtthe relationship with that person versus the act aganst me which ever is more imp i choose that!
revenge is not always the best policy and nor is turnnig the cheek always, every act needs to be weighed and outcome chosen

🤣🤣🤣 yes exactly ... well said surabhi not lifelong tit for tat ... just enough tit for tat to make them know they cant walk all over us...and more importantly, that they better not do it a second time.
tit for tat cannot become our whole life's ambition.
