Later the same day, shiv who was looking over some papers in the office heard his phone ring.

Yes sir,

Of course! it will be taken care of.

Shiv grabbed his keys and went towards his jeep.

bheem singh: Main bhi chaltha hun sir..

Shiv: Nahi thum yahin rukho. Main 7-8 dinon ke liye Udaipur jaa raha hun. Abhi Headquaters sey call aayi hai ki jo mandatory meeting senior officers ki Jaipur main schedule ki gayi thi , kuch problems ki vajay sey Udaipur main condut hongi. Aur mera wahan jana zaroori hai.

Bheem Singh: lekin sir, Neher Kay project ko jo oversee kerna hai voh kaam kaise pura hoga?

Shiv: Bheem singh kyat hum 7-8 din tak ye kaam khud nahi dekh sakthay? Mera udaypur jana bohot zaroori hai…

and as he thought about this he remembered Anandi.

Shiv: teekh hai main anandiji sey baat kertha hun,

It was around 4:30 PM. He knew that Anandi would be returning home from school. He arrived at the door of the haveli. His heart was heavy. He knew the reason behind it. The hospital scene came flashing in front of his eyes.

'how will I face her?' he questioned himself.

Sighing heavily he went towards the door and knocked. Makhan opened the door and invited him in. He ran to inform Dadisa about Shiv's arrival.

DS: are shiv beta.. aap yahan. Padharo, she invited him in and asked him to sit besides her.

Her eyes sparkled every time she saw shiv.

Shiv: Dadiji aap kaise hain, he asked

After a couple minutes of conversation Shiv asked for Anandi. He noticed that Dadiji became very happy at his mention of Anandi.

She is very nice. He thought to himself. The way she talks about Anandi and cares for her was very admirable.

DS: Kuch kaam tha aapko

Shiv: Ji.. as he was about to explain further, Anandi had come in to the house.

Her eyes were on to the ground, a bit tired but determined. She lifted her face with a smile that disappeared as soon as it had appeared. Shiv knew the reason behind it. He could not look her eye to eye but what he had come for was important and for the betterment of Jetsar. He had to put his personal feelings away from this and approach Anandi.

Shiv rose to greet Anandi. Who responded back without really looking at him

Dadisa had noticed this and had a worried expression on her face

Abh in dono main fir sey jhagda to nahi ho gaya??

Jithni jatan main karu, ussey zyada jatan kare ye dono, meri umeed per pani ferne ke liye. She thought angrily to herself.

DS: Chori thu maray saath chal zara rasoyi main. Mannay tharay saath kuch kaam hai

She commanded to Anandi, who was only too glad to oblige in order to get away from Shiv.

In the Kitchen:

Ke hua chori? thu ithni rookhi rookhi se pesh kiyun aaye shiv ke saath?

Anandi: Nahi tho dadisa ! aisi koi baat nahi hai said Anandi, wondering how Dadisa found out about what she was feeling

DS. mannay sara kuch pata hai. ladai ho gayo tharay aur shiv ke beech? asked Dadisa

Anandi: Nahi tho Dadisa, aisi koi baat nahi hai. Main voh thak gayi hun na, aur dhoop bhi teez hai isiliye..

Ye chori abh konsi baat chupave maray sey? thought DS. But this was not the time for that. Shiv was waiting ..

DS: Acha thu jaa ..muh haath dholay main Gehna sey kehkay chay bijwathi hun shiv ke liye

Anandi felt uncomfortable hearing his name. It was as if something was stuck in her throat and could not get out. Her heart was pacing faster than usual and she had a sinking feeling in her stomach.

What was happening to her? She thought restlessly as she went to the washroom to freshen up

In the Living Room:

Anandi is still not looking at me. I do not know what to do!

DS: Shiv Beta maaf kerna mujhe kuch kaam tha.

Shiv: koi baat nahi dadiji.

Shiv looked around to see if Anandi was behind Dadisa. Dadisa noticed this

'Voh aa rahi hai'

Anandi reappeared in the living room

DS: aa chori.. bait ja.

Gehna: Ye lijiye masa chai.

She hands the tea to Shiv then DS. Anandi takes the tea herself and asks Gehna to sit too.

Shiv: Anandi ji , he said with a firm voice

Mujhe 7-8 dino ke liye Udaipur jana hai, nehar kay project ke silsilay main.

Anandi looked up at shiv surprised.

'ithni dair ke liye ? kiyun?' she asked

DS who was watching their conversation felt relived that things were slowly coming back to normal. The tension between them seemed to have evaporated.

Shiv: Mujhe kuch reports pesh kernay hai. Tho aap please yahan ka kaam sambhal lijiye ga.

Just then Shiv receives a call.

Yes sir,

Acha

ok Sir. I will do that

No.. of course not no problem

Shiv hangs up the phone and addresses Anandi

Abhi mujhe call aya hai headquarters sey ki meeting main Jetsar kay representative ka hona zaroori hai. Anandi ji aapko meray saath Udaipur jana padega.

Anandi with a surprised look. Udaipur?

Shiv: Ji. he then turns to DS

Dadiji , Anandi ji ko mearay saath Udaipur jana hoga.

Anandi cuts in

Teekh hai collector sahab. Mujhe aap batadijiye ki kahan jana hai aur main aa jaungi.

Dadisa hum wahin per hi koi rahnay ka intezaam ker lengay. Maakhan kaka meray saath aayingay to kaafi hai. She added seriously

Shiv looked somewhat let down. He did not want to intrude and put forth the thought that he wanted to take her to Udaipur with him.

DS : are chori, thu kiyun maakhan kay saath jayegi. Shiv hai na. uskay saath chali jana

Anandi: Lekin dadisa..

DS: Sun, Shiv bhi ja raha hai Udaipur aur mujhe makhan ki zaroorat rehthi hai. BHairav bhi shehar gayo hai…. na …naa.. thu shiv kay saath hi chali jana

Anandi: Lekin Dadisa main rahungi kaha?

Shiv who could not hide the excitement in his voice immediately said

aap bhul rahi hain ki main Udaipur sey hun. Mera ghar hain vahan. aapkay rehnay ka intezaam ho jayega.

Before Anandi could retort back shiv hurriedly got up and started to take leave

Acha dadiji main chaltha hun. Anandi ji main office main ja raha hun. Reports check kernay ke liye. Abh tak tho bheem singh nay saray paperwork complete ker diye hongay.

aap teek 7 bajay tak tayyar rahiyega. Main lenay aa jaunga.

OK bye

Shiv then without looking at Anandi started off towards the door and vanished

He very well knew that if he had stayed for few more minutes, Anandi would have retorted back and opposed the idea of travelling with him and on the top staying at his house!

Suchi ... this is getting better and better !
