TOI: Sid not ready to mingle

From a contestant in a model hunt contest to becoming a popular name on small screen,Siddharth Shukla has come a long way.

Even though his shows Jaane Pehchaane Se Yeh Ajnabi and Love U Zindagi were not high on TRPs, Siddharth's performance was appreciated. Now, this handsome hunk is back with an interesting role in the TRP puller showBalika Vadhu. And surely Siddharth's entry has been the talking point of the show grabbing viewer's attention.

Role Revelry
I'm happy to be a part of such a successful show. The cast and the crew have all bonded like a family — and I Guess that is likely to be, as this show is running for over three years now. There's so much to learn from Surekhaji, Anoopji or Pratyusha. I believe my role is expected to be a cameo — but do keep yourself ready for surprises as I'm the 'twist' factor in this soap! I'm the new man in Anandi's life in the show and there was no second thought in my mind before taking up this role. And the good part is, I'm playing a man with a modern approach towards life, so I relate a lot with this character.

Lessons From The Past
I've been learning a lot as I'm getting newer projects. Every project is a challenge, my initial soaps were not hugely popular — but feels good that I'm part of the industry where you get to learn at every step of your career. I still have a long way. As an actor, the step forward is obviously Bollywood. I wish to make it big in films as well, and there's nothing wrong in dreaming big!

Love Bytes
I'm very much single. I don't wish to get into any relationship right now. I just ended a relationship and so am not looking for love right now. There were a lot of rumours about my link-up with co-star Pavitra Punia (Love U Zindagi) but, frankly we are just Friends — there's nothing happening between us.

De-Stress Mantra
Currently, shooting for Balika Vadhu is taking a lot of my time as the focus is on my character. But when I am not working, I prefer spending time watching movies, working out and playingSports like football. I enjoy being with my friends, my family and I do like to party occasionally. I love fashion design and interior designing too. I'm a big foodie — love trying out new cuisines. I'm basically quiet and an introvert, I would rather prefer my work would talk for me. At the end of the day, it feels wonderful to learn that people recognize me for the roles that I've done, it brings a smile to my face.
