I dont understand why she does everything first, and then cries about not having their acceptance.

Instead of informing them after the fact, she should consult them before IF their acceptance means that much to her.

If not, do what you want and lead your life in Mumbai... or be like Jagat, completely insensitive and blind to his surroundings, and going around thinking that he is accepted everywhere.

tanvi - that is precisely the point. bhairon never cared about them.

so where is the issue of his caring now? yes, he knew that there would eventually be children, and he is not bothered. He has told them to live in Mumbai and lead their own life.

why come here and inflict this child down everyone's throat?

and atleast now, when you know that your hopes of this child being accepted are zero/nil, then why not swallow the bitter pill and move on to plan B - which is abortion, or having the child and raising it on your own, whichever is more convenient?

why stay here and keep shouting that they are not accepting?

That's what beats be about Gauri. I am really not sure if she understood that her marriage with Jagya was illegal. Bhairon told her, the lawyers told her.

So the first question should have been since I am not legally married, is it okay for me to stay with a married man? If yes, what are our future plans? Do we intend to stay like this throughout our lives? What happens in future when children arrive? Is there any other way I can ask Anandi to give divorce to Jagya? What rights do I have in case Jagya cheats on me and leaves me? Does the law grant me the power to move court under such a situation?

These are basic questions that any woman would ask about her own future. Instead, what does she do? She decides to run away from reality and build up her own fantasy world where she assumes she is Jagya's legal wife, romances with him, drinks pepsi with five straws and climbs up the fan to put flower petals. I mean how stupid and retarded can someone get when there are so many serious questions staring at you in real life.

And then she comes to Jetsar and faces reality. Interestingly enough, facing the reality does not make her think about things seriously. Instead she thinks her social insult is Anandi's chaal, her rejection from the Singh family is Anandi's plotting, only the Singh family and Anandi call her marriage illegal and only these people will call her child illegitimate. I am really bowled why Gauri does not see the truth for herself and thinks it is only the Singh family's distorted visions. She is seriously delusional. I mean it's a psychiatric problem where people live in their fantasy world and hate everyone who tries to tell him/her that it is not real. Gauri really needs some psychiatric help asap.

Instead of thinking abt these serious issues she put her full energy in keeping Anandi away from J and blaming everyone. Suppose even if A will be out of picture, will it solve all those issues. Will it make their marriage legal and child legitimate? No na. Thn why not finding way to legitimate their marriage by asking divorce, instead of shouting.

After knowing the truth her demanding acceptance is madness .y?frm wen legality became the most imp for singh parivar, even before they were nt aware of fact dat anandi is legal wife dat time they suported anandi, becoz relations just doesnt depend on legality but emotions also,so g also wants to be loved, accepted.Just becoz she came to know dat she is nt legal wife she should nt demand acceptance n wer is she fighting n demanding now?she is only getting hurt n tensed abt her child. living in dat haveli in the room ,she moves outside the room, faces people ful of hatred ,isnt it hurting?

and the funny thing is that the real issue of legitimacy and illegitimacy does not seem to bother her.

The metric being used is whether the singhs are celebrating or not.

Even if the singhs were celebrating ... that does not mean that the child would be legitimate.

There is no connection between the two.

tanvi, I will repeat my question again. Since you understand Gauri so well, could you tell me what is Gauri's own expectation of acceptance? What does she want to be accepted as? As a second wife? What according to her should be her status in the Singh family? Jagya's second wife?

In that case, Gauri believes in the middle age feudal culture where a man could have multiple wives. Right? Significantly enough, in such a system, all the wives were aware of each other's equal rights and had no issues in sharing the husband. Now I think Anandi believes in such a system of polygamy-----that is why she has accepted Gauri as Jagya's second wife and talks about Gauri's patni rights and rights over Jagya. However, if Gauri also believes in the same system when why is she so against Anandi's rights and denies her claim over Jagya? Isn't it contradictory that she expects her own acceptance on the basis of polygamy and does not want to follow the rest of the rules of this system? Either you believe in polygamy or you not, why the contradiction here?

Gauri is getting a stipend. She is not financially dependent on Jagat. she should tell him to stay as long as she wants, and then book a ticket for herself and leave.

It is a one hour comfortable car drive from jayetsar to jaipur... and a one hour flight from jaipur to mumbai. I honestly doubt that there is any situation which will create physical danger to her child.

Get the hell out of this place where people look at you full of hatred if you dont want to look at hate filled faces. She is not compelled to stay.

Oh I am sure it hurts. In fact I hope it hurts so much that it gets unbearable. Coz only then will she think how to get rid of this hurt. So far all she has done is - assauly Jagya with why why why do they hate me, knowing full well why they 'don't care about her' - love and hate are on both the extreme ends - right now she is just an unwanted guest who needs medically advised rest.

Why does she have to peep from above and see what is happening in the hall and overhear conversations ? Just stay in your room and eat fruits and daliya.

She is the one who has her head in a bubble and refuses to accept or see or hear reality - she gets hurt everytime reality stares her in the face to ab kya karen ?

Only solution is to run right back to Mumbai and continue living in her bubble - why doesn't she do that ? The Singhs will be happy and so will she.
