Hit the nail with your post!👏 She has no excuse to abort the child unlike the women u mentioned in the first para!😡 She's a selfish woman who thinks abt only herself...It was not that she didn't know what she was doing...Mistakes happen but she being a doctor and one who claims Miss- know -it all should have taken the right measures!
To want to kill your own child! this woman's heart is Pattar dil ... G claims J is her love and this unborn is a product of your love so why want to kill it ?

Forget all logic and maths .. even i'm a career oriented and wrk, if I were to caught in a similar situation ( due protection failure), though not due to illegal marraige .. I would still keep the baby as I'm a women first n have no right to kill my baby.. remember mother is the first one to love her child than anyone else... After taking of all Sacha pyaar n all... ppl should not forget the real form of sacha pyar .. the bond of a mother n child ..

First of all, I's concur on what "gagarulez" has written. Yes, its really not possible to foretell at this point whether they used it or not. And even if Gauri and Jagat consummated in a force of passion, she could've still popped a pill the morning after. So, let's just let Mum speak there.

Coming to the actual point, I believe that a woman has the FULL RIGHTS to decide on the abortion or retention of the foetus in HER womb,no mater the number of ethical arguments one (read: people who've got nothing to do with her or her baby) can out up.

Its HER BODY, HER VAGINA, HER UTERUS and her soul. Nobody's got a right to dictate.

I believe women have absolute and complete right over their bodies. Be it to procreate or abort.

I am well aware of the Pro-life stance in US and to what extremes they can carry it - however coming from a country like India - I am well aware that babies are not just God's gifts - to quite an extent - human have a huge hand in bringing them. So - if a woman does not feel physically or mentally capable of having a baby and it disrupts her life quite considerably - she has a right to chose whatever she wants without being made to feel guilty.

A happy mom will more likely give birth to a happy healthy baby. But if she has her studies which will suffer, her personal life that is not yet sorted, her support system which seems insufficient and a long productive time when she can choose to have a baby at leaisue - she shud delay it.

Accidents happen - 2 of my friends conceived despite using precaution while on their honeymoon and it devastated them coz in our arranged marriage scenario - these girls just did not get the time to
- get comfortable and know more about their husbands n their families
- get atleast 2-3 years of work life before babies coz later on everyone knows - u just cannot devote that kind of attention to work - what with nanny issues, baby feed times, fevers/colds etc etc..
- build up an urge to have a baby. The baby came when it still seemed like a headache.

All those people who are so pro life shud know that happy minds and bodies are reqd to produce happy babies and just thinking about putting them up for adoption is not as easy as it seems.

My kid is adopted. The Indian government rules now forbid any legal adoption of a newborn baby till it is atleast 4-6 months old. That's because it takes that long to do a home study of the prospective parent, clear the paperwork and also the mother of the baby has a right to come back and reclaim the baby uptil 3-4 months even after she signs away all rights. So, the registered adoption agency - lets their foster care homes take care of such kids who are not yet legally clear to be given away. These babies lag behind in terms of mental and physical growth coz they are looked after by various nurses or care givers in shifts of 8 hrs - they don't have the luxury of seeing that one familiar face or hearing that one familiar voice they heard while unborn.
These babies really thrive after u bring them home coz they get the devoted attention of one set of faces - but then also have to undergo the lifelong anxiety of wondering why they were given up and always try to find their birth parents no matter how much love their adoptive parents shower on them.

So to sum it up - Gauri is young and has a long fertile life ahead of her - its not like she's 30 already - and if she feels unprepared - she shud by all mean reconsider her decision to be a mom.

Yes, you got that correct. Motherhood is one of the most beautiful things on Earth, that's precisely why it'd be wrong to force it on someone. The sacred bond that exists between a mother and a child should be strictly based on love, benevolence, and longing. Forcing someone to enter Motherhood at a Ethical gunpoint is, in my opinion, an extremely immoral thing to do.

If Gauri has decided she CANNOT juggle pregnancy and the hectic schedule of an intern, (which, as I know from my doctor uncle, is HECTIC!!!), then she has full support from my side.

It's really very easy to talk ethics when we're not in the shoe of that hurtful dilemma.😳

Good topic Woman11 ! Am glad u brought it up coz in the US they get completely crazy about this prolife business. They think nothing of eating meat 3 times a day which also is life btw, but make such a HUGE hoohah about human babies.
In fact baby pigs and baby deer and baby cow meat is so prized it is nauseating - then it doesn't matter I guess.

And who are you to judge?

For God's sake, it ain't, AINT a crime to think about career and studies first!!!! 😵 .

Abortion is a practical decision, NOT something that people do for fun!!! My mom had to go through an abortion because she and dad were/are both working and she couldn't afford to leave two babies (I was a infant at that time)in the care of a nanny. So, my guess is that she'd be neutrally branded "patthar dil", "evil", "ruthless" by many of the folks here on forum.

People really need to take off their moral blinders and look at the situation from a PRACTICAL point of view. Yes, it'd be a VERY MOMENTOUS task to carry on being pregnant alongside studies and work. And ironically enough, it'd be US here who'd be blaming Gauri about bringing an infant on Earth and not being able to take care of them properly, should she fail to balance her duties with motherhood.

I don't care tuppence about Gauri or any of the other characters on this idiotic show, but I commented because the contents of this topic reflects on REAL PEOPLE , REAL mothers who have to go through the difficult and psychologically trying process of an abortion.

Those poor women deserve sympathy and understanding, not the judging glare of people condemning them to hell for the "sin" of having an abortion.🥱🥱

So, think before you write, people!😃

She has no excuse to abort the child unlike the women u mentioned in the first para! i think my opening lines were that.I was not throwing stones at any real human being..Just Gauri a fictional character...I'm only discussing her...My sympathies lie with the real women as mentioned in the first para ...well if for Gauri studies was a priority then she shouldn't have got preg in the first place or didn't she know abt birds and bees in the first place...I think u can balance career and motherhood equally well. There are so many modern women who do a fine job of raising kids and managing a career. ?I know a friend of mine who had two children got preg with the third one still managed to finish her... master's and also was working as a teacher... till she gave birth to the third one.
Did I mention sin or hell in my post.?Well IF gives me the right to express my opinion and I have done exactly that ...U are free to agree or disagree .. I'm not here to throw stones at u or anyone.

@sayali_babes: i think you missed the whole point of my post. Let me quote it for you again:
However, that's my point of view. I would love to hear yours. What are your views about abortion? Do you find it wrong under any circumstance? Do you support abortion and a woman's right to her body under any circumstances? What do you think?

I did not ask anyone to agree with me. Rather I mentioned specifically that it's my personal point of view. I think everybody has a right to opinion. Neither pro-abortionists nor anti-abortionists can impose one's view on the others. So please, let us have a healthy discussion and not condemn anyone for expressing their views.Lets not say you cannot say this, lets let everyone have their say, without putting anyone down 😛.
