Avika Gor at Rakhi Teej Bazaar
From sale season to Teej melas, ladies, this fortnight, seemed to be spoilt for choice. And when the ladies and the labels get together, there's not so much that can break their session. At the Amanuday Rakhi Teej Bazaar, the timely break came courtesy television's little darling Avika Gor aka Anandi. As Aruna Mukim's guest, Avika's presence was the highlight of this do, but little did anyone anticipate the mob like rush for this youngest bahu on TV, least of all Mukim.
After a chaperoned round with security rings around, Avika barely managed to make her way back on the stage, when all the guests in the hall started hurling questions at her about her hobbies, upcoming projects, and even her hair!
Later, Mukim told us, "I knew she has a fan following, but look at the crowd here! They love her." Avika herself seemed happy, though in a precocious tone, she told us, "I love Delhi's crowd. In Mumbai, every second person is a star, so the appreciation is divided. But yahan toh bahut zyada pyaar milta hai." Considering that the other expected guests – Javed Akhtar and Priya Dutt – couldn't make it to the do, all the attention was focussed on Avika, who did a splendid job of carrying herself like a star.
Most of the people addressed her as Anandi and asked her endless questions on how she likes her saas and dadisa. Identity crisis, Anandi, err... Avika?
