A/N: A few years down the line. Jagdish is away studying and Anandi is stuck at home but not much has changed between the bandhar and his chudiya. One day he gets a letter. Written in Hindi and English because I can't get the Rajasthani dialect right L
[P.S. I know have my other fic – that will be updated soon but this is just a SS]
It was her letter. The one tucked behind his latest list of books and the electricity bill. Not that he had opened it. The morning post had been handed to him hurriedly and just as hastily thrown haphazardly across his desk before he rushed to his class, rumpled clothes and bed hair intact. But he had just returned, switching on the lights in an effort to quell the gathering darkness when his eyes had fallen on the letters.
The pale blue envelope with her cursive script and the curled J that always accompanied her letters to him. So his Chudiya had finally taken out some time to write to him.
Jagdish kicked of his shoes and settled himself on his bed, pushing the unmade quilt aside for more room. He eagerly ripped the letter open.

"Aur thum?"
Main bhi karthi hu. Kabhi kabhi.
Jagdish laughed,
"Main bhi, Kabhi Kabhi."
Tujhe woh Veer yaad hai?
Jagdish frowned, recalling memories of a gangly boy whose father visited the haveli from time to time. Veer had always been happy to play with Anandi on the rare occasions when Dadisa was not around and Jagdish was either with his friends or not talking to Anandi after a long fight.
Kal aya tha. Bhoth bara hogaya, thujhse bhi lamba Jagdish! Bhoth acha hai; yaad hai hum sab sath khel the the? Mere liye churiya bhi lekar aya.
Jagdish tensed.
Thumhara thofa milgaya. Chunri achi thi. Sambal kar rakhi hai, aoghe tho pehna dhena.
The annoyance faded and he found himself grinning.
Mujhe pheele rang ki chudiya chaye. Aur ha, apna khayal rakhna. Agar beemar hokar laute tho bilkul bath nahi karu ghi.
Tumhari Anandi.
Jagdish rose from the bed and carefully placed the letter on his desk before pulling out a clean sheet of paper and selecting a pen.
"Meri pyari Chudiya…
