Pratyusha Banerjee

Jagdish's (aka Shashank Vyas) wait to initiate a marital life with Anandi (as played by Pratyusha Banerjee) is far from over. Dadisa has already barred Anandi from sharing a room with Jagya in the past and it would soon be seen that in the coming episodes, after Anandi refuses to carry out the marriage, he will completely stop talking to her.

As per a source from the show, it so happens that Jagdish once more tries to get closer to Anandi; she however manages to stay far away from him. This irritates Jagdish so much so that he actually stops talking to her. Anandi then tries to convince him he doesn't give in that easily.

It was also found out that much later there would be a celebration of the Teej festivity in the show. Sugna arrives at her paternal house for this occasion. Anandi tells her about exactly how Jagya has stopped chatting with her. Sugna then intervenes in the situation; however her efforts all go in vain. In the meantime, Jagdish then appears for his medical entrance exam and he passes it with flying colors.

Everyone but Dadisa is happy. In tonight's episode Jagdish overhears the conversation of his mother with Gehna and decides to astonish her by getting his mama to make merry at the occasion of Rakhi.

Vibha Anand

Vibha Anand who is fondly known as Sugna of Color's 'Balika Vadhu' is trapped between two little monsters on sets, whom she loves from the bottom of her heart. Vibha plays a strict mother to her onscreen children, but Vibha is very unhappy with her onscreen behavior towards both her kids, as she has to scold them harshly which according to her isn't her cup of tea.

"I really don't like scolding Varun, who is playing my onscreen son. He is not at all studious, because of which I keep scolding him. Off screen I share a wonderful rapport with both the kids, they are really cute and honestly I don't have the heart to keep scolding them all the time, because of this I have to take many re takes of the shorts. Wherever I have to perform this particular scene, I can't really hold back the smile on my face, because the way those kids react to my anger is something to notice." says Vibha.

Talking about her onscreen daughter Shagun, Vibha says, "She is also very innocent, initially she was never mingled around with me, but now, she is very comfortable around me. During their free time both of the kids; spend their time with me, doing their homework and learning their lessons. I really love them a lot and enjoy being with them."

Vibha seems to be really enjoying her time with these kids, and we are sure this going to help her in her future. Great going Vibha!

Gehna aka Neha Marda
None of my co-stars was smart enough to play a good prank on me. However one prank that is unforgettable is the one Subhash Sengupta the director of Balika Vadhu played. I had just joined the show and was my 2nd day of shooting. I clearly remember it was the last shot of the day and everyone was waiting for pack up. I had to cry my heart out in the scene and Shubhashji instructed me to continue crying till he says cut. I cried for about 10-12 minutes after which I almost lost my voice and could not continue anymore. When I finally gave up and opened my eyes I was shocked to see that the entire crew had left the room and I was the only one left there. This prank helped to break the ice between me and Shubhashji.

Sugna's trouble continues

Colors most successful show Balika Vadhu is getting into a major twist in Sugna's life. As we know, Sugna was pregnant with Pratap's child and was about to get married to him, but Pratap died before that.

She then met Shyam, who fell in love with her and they married. Sugna's son Varun, although, not an heir to the family, was still loved by Sugana and Shyam. This, however, did not please Tausa, who hates Varun as he isn't an heir to the family. His anger will now increase, as Varun meets with an accident. There is buzz that Varun will be paralysed

When we contacted Shyam's mother, she said, "I'm shocked that despite several years going by, Tausa still hates Varun and hasn't accepted him to the family. I support my son and daughter-in-law and have accepted Varun as the heir to our family," she said.

Later on we spoke to Sugna aka Vibha Anand who told us, "I am very much disappointed with the behaviour of Tausa. I have great respect for him, but he has insulted Varun. I have no clue why he is behaving like this. He wants the legal heir from Shyam and I. I am hoping everything would be fine.

She further added, "I am fortunate enough to get such loving supportive husband and even my mother-in-law is with me. For me both Varun and Shagun are like two eyes of my soul.

Today is the day of our great, adorable and the naughtiest Lord Krishna. Making the Gopi's life havoc with his naughtiness was his great parade which is still depicted. But with the time, the trend has changed as now even the Gopis's (cow - herd girl) have turned naughty like their lord Krishna. We caught with some naughty Gopika's of our Indian Television who are walking on the foot prints of their lord Krishna. Let's see how and in which way, they trouble their prey.

Ratan Rajpoot:

When I was in college, I have teased Abhishek Bachchan and he did not annoy me. Now you must be surprised that how come I teased Abhishek Bachchan and he did not respond. The thing is that during my college days, there was a bus stop in front of a public toilet and on the wall of that toilet, there was a huge poster of Abhishek. While sitting at the bus stop with my friends, I use to always propose Abhishek to be my husband. The funniest part was, he never use to say anything to us but once a gentleman, who was standing beside us heard our conversation which embarrassed no end.

Ankita Lokhande:

I don't tease any one on the roadside but I do not leave any chance to tease my co actors. I just go crazy on sets. Like if any one is already irritated with his problems or some matter, I will go and aggravate them more with some stupid talks, so that they will blast with anger. Even though I get some bad expressions from them, I love to do all such things.

Vibha Anand:

I am a brat when it comes to teasing any one and due to which I have embarrassed many of my friends. During my college time, I always teased the guys with the name of the girl, they had a crush on. Purposely on the day of Raksha Bandhan, I used to be at the place of that girl and deliberately call the guys at the place to meet. But no one turned up. Due to such naughtiness, guys would always run away from me.

Kritika Kamra:

I have always been a tom boy. All my guy friends treated me like a boy. In north such incidence of eve teasing do happen on regular basis, it a very common thing out there. If some body is teasing you in a good humor than that is fine, but if it's serious then that is really nasty. With regards to me, I do remember being teased, but don't remember them so vividly, but many a times I end up teasing the boys and then I enjoy the expressions on their face.

Ragini Khanna:

I never leave a chance to tease my co - actor Jay Soni. As initially he was a very shy guy due to which he was not that open to any one. Due to my teasing he has some what opened up. But still to some extent he has not changed and that is the reason why he becomes my prey. I just start teasing him on any topic that comes to me. Whatever it may be, acting, having food, sitting inactive, I am the one to make his life hell on the sets. But now he is used to it.

Pooja Pihal:

I had never teased any one unknown as I was that descent during my college days. But I have made my college guys go mad. Not only guys but also girls, I have teased many of them while dancing. As once while I was performing with a girl where I had taken a get up of a boy, I made her feel like she was really with some boy and got embarrassed with me.

Rishma Rochlani:

I was a tom boy during my college days and even now I am not that descent. While I was in college there was a fat boy who had made my life hell and thus I decided that I will take revenge from him and for which I kept the soft board pins on his place. I was sitting at the last bench laughing at him. In a way with my naughtiness, I have made many guys cry.

Anjali Abrol:

I make fun of my brother itself. My brother had many friends who are girls so I always teased him that he has many girl friends in his life and always I use to take names in front of them or publicly which always made my brother annoyed. But then as he knows me and my habits, he never took any action.

Uuff! So don't think that your TV stars are as simple as they project themselves, Guys Beware!

TV show 'Balika Vadhu' was originally a movie script

By indiaabroad
Saturday Oct 4 8:50 AM

New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS) 'Balika Vadhu', a TV show on child marriage, has become one of the most watched soaps on small screen. Its writer Purnendu Shekhar says it was originally a movie script, written 16 years back.

'I originally wrote the script for a film in 1992. But at that time I was writing for other shows and didn't have time to contact people and narrate the story,' Shekhar told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Shekhar has earlier been associated with shows like 'Saat Phere', 'Kumkum', 'Astitva', and 'Saathi Re'. In 1996, he joined Zee TV as the senior programming executive.

His current show 'Balika Vadhu' primarily revolves around child bride Anandi, who is married off to an equally young boy Jagdish. The girl is thus unable to have a joyful childhood and is bound by her in-laws' customs instead.

When Shekhar wanted to make a film on the subject, he had titled it 'Ehsaas'. But when his script was adopted for the TV serial, 'Balika Vadhu' was finalised.

'I knew the title 'Balika Vadhu' fits the show perfectly, but I was not so keen on it because a film of the same name was made in Bengali. Later, the film was made in Hindi too. The film was not on child marriage, but I had my reservations about the title being the same,' Shekhar said.

Child marriage as a social evil was of immense concern to Shekhar who hails from Rajasthan where people still practise it.

'I have seen a lot of people getting married at a young age. My mother got married when she was 15 years old. My father was 23 years old at the time of marriage. Child marriage is an important issue and no one has addressed it seriously till now,' he said.

He quoted government figures and said: 'This is not a thing of the past. Almost six million child marriages take place every year. It happens even now. It is just our ignorance that we don't know about it.'

Shekhar says when he approached established channels for 'Balika Vadhu', it was rejected, saying only formula-based scripts work for their channels.

'Change is not acceptable to them (older channels) and they are not experimental. My story has no formula. It is a simple story with a simple narrative,' he said.

Though the motive behind 'Balika Vadhu' is to create awareness about the evil of child marriage, Shekhar clarified that he is not intending to begin a revolution.

'The show is making people think about the issue and that is the basic purpose. One of my friend's helpers watches the show daily and looking at Anandi's plight, even she keeps thinking and talking about whether or not she should get her young child married.'

Is Varun paralysed for life in Balika Vadhu?

Vikrant Massey and Vibha Anand

Sugna's (Vibha Anand) troubles are not getting over soon in Balika Vadhu. Ever since her son Varun has fallen off the terrace her life has become difficult as Shyam has held her and her careless attitude responsible for the accident. In the coming episodes her problems will increase when Varun will not be able to walk on his feet.

A source says, "Varun has survived the major accident, however soon it will be announced that he won't be able to walk or even stand on his feet. So far he has been shown lying on the bed but when he will try to walk or stand he won't be able to do so. Shyam and Sugna rush him to the hospital once again when the doctor will tell them to consult a specialist in some city hospital. Shyam would then decide to go to Jaipur."

Our source adds, "Meanwhile Jagdish comes back after his exams when he hears about Varun's accident. There would be few more nice moments between Anandi and Jagya. Also there would be more stress between Basant and Gehna, though the matter is not yet out of control. Our focus will remain on Varun's health and if he would be rendered paralysed for life or not
