Something different from the normal forum discussions.
I saw the whole news covering the Kolkata massacre. Being my own city, I could feel it. I was tensed cause I had a family member there but thankfully, he had returned early because the work finished early and he left the area minutes before the massacre.
My only question now is what made the bridge collapse? The bridge was being constructed by some Hyderabad company and it had missed some 9 deadlines. The part which had collapsed was the newest 100m part of the 2.2km bridge. So why didn't the government pressurize the company? Why was the quality of the iron and other raw materials not checked?
This was a clear case of irresponsibility and selfishness. What's the use of giving 5lakhs to the families of the dead and 2lakhs to the families of those injured? It was an accident which could be avoided. The scale of the calamity can be guessed by seeing the number of rescue teams.
My condolences with all those families who have been affecte and I seriously want the people responsible, who are in no mood to comment, be punished.
Please pray for all those injured and for the ones still stuck under the debris and all the families and people affected.

Wow the government actually thinks that the value of a human life is just 5 lakh rupees. Shows how much they care about the families of the deceased and public in general. Money won't bring their lives back!! If they really feel for the affected families then they should punish the people responsible for this.
