How many starry nights did you spend learning chords, listening to hit song repeatedly until you could finally play it with confidence? Did your fingers bleed like Bryan Adams claimed in the hit Summer of '69? When did you finally give up and set your guitar aside to gather dust and faded memories? You miss it don't you? Admit it, you dreamed of standing in that stadium under the lights soaking in the adoration of millions! It's ok, I did too! But we all grow up...right? Well, not totally and that's why you should turn the lights up! It's Get Out Your Guitar Day!

History of Get Out Your Guitar Day

The history of Get Out Your Guitar day is simply unable to be recorded. Ever since the first version of a guitar was created, man has desired to escape the mundane and take some time to dream. Bards and storytellers of old became the pop stars of today. All with the ability to make music and take us along on their adventures. Whether it is the heartache of relationships or the ringing anthems of those who seek for change, the music sweeps us up and gathers us along. Remember that joy that you had the first time someone heard you playing and recognized the song? Yeah, that is what today is about. That pure, sweet, joy in the moment. So run up to the attic or down into the basement and get that guitar out of hiding!

How to Celebrate Get Out Your Guitar Day

Back from the attic? Ready to get started? Ok! Great! Let's get rockin'. The first way I recommend that you celebrate is to get all your friends together. Tell them to grab their guitars (air or hero version) and come over. Order some pizza, pour some drinks and rock away! No, you don't need to practice for a month before hand, the mistake will make memories! If you can't get your friends or family to join you, have your own celebration. Take that guitar and just sit with your eyes closed and think of all the dreams, all the fun, all the ups and downs that you have gone through together. Relive those moments of glory. Turn all of your stress and worries off for now and just strum those strings and let the music take you to a place where you can be anything you want!

Take advantage of the technology we have today and make a record of your time out of the day. Get your phone ready and record your songs. Share what you can do with those who couldn't come over for your celebration on YouTube, Facebook, and other social media. Let them see how great you are! Maybe next year they will join you instead of staying away! While you are posting that video to your favorite social media (or all of them!), don't forget to share it with us as well!

There are so many syrupy holidays through the year that are devoted to love and relationships that if you partook of them all you would have a mouth full of cavities! Are you single and proud of it? Does the thought of having to live through another Valentine's Day make you cringe? Well here is a day just for you! It's Satisfied Staying Single Day!

There is nothing wrong with the single life and more people need to see that! Look back through history and you'll see something glamorous about the "eternal bachelor. Films have been made and stories are written to add to this idea, so why is there such a stigma attached to being single? Use this holiday to show the world how happy and satisfied you are with your life!

History of Satisfied Staying Single Day

There have been those that are more comfortable dancing through life without a partner since the beginning of time. Why not have a day to celebrate that singular state of happiness? Now you can treat yourself to something sweet, colorful flowers or anything at all and know that you will have the perfect gift!

How often are you the recipient of pitying looks, invitations, and blind dates? Don't they know that you are fine, you are happy and content with your life just as it is. The real answer is no. No, they don't understand. They honestly think they're helping you. On Satisfied Staying Single Day, you can start to show all your friends and family that there is nothing wrong with the single life.

How to Celebrate Satisfied Staying Single Day

There are two approaches to take to the celebration of this wonderful holiday. The first is a truly single approach and celebrate on your own. You could set aside the whole day and treat yourself like the King or Queen you are. Head to the salon for a new do and a relaxing massage followed by a well-deserved shopping trip free of having to explain your spending!

The second is a group approach with a few options. Why not gather up all your single friends and have a dinner party to celebrate? You could follow that with a night at the club since none of you must answer to anyone but yourselves this shouldn't cause drama! The other option for a group setting is that you invite all your friends who are in a relationship and have them over. You know, like they do for you whenever there is a reason to gather. This time though you won't have to endure the looks and questions about your single status. Make sure to show them how settled you are and how much you love them despite their attempts to change you!

Satisfied Staying Single Day is a day to celebrate the idea that being alone is as empowering as being in a relationship. It is all in the way you choose to look at it. So if you are single and satisfied, this is your holiday! Enjoy!

Did you see that game last night? Amazing, wasn't it? Your favorite player in your favorite sport saved the day with grit and determination. Do you ever think of that player when they aren't working hard to make the sport entertaining? Have you ever given thought to what their home life must be with all the time needed for training, travel, and promotions? Now add in all the required appearances, the hordes of fans and media and you can see the craziness that comes with their life. How do they stay grounded and focused? If they are lucky, with the help of an amazing wife! That is why we celebrate Pro Sports Wives Day.

History of Pro Sports Wives Day

How could there not have always been a day to give recognition to these pillars of grace and beauty? I know, right? The first official Pro Sports Wives Day was celebrated in 2006 and rightly so has been repeated every year. When this day was set aside, it was given the role in recognizing yearly honorees as well as all wives of active and retired sports professionals. Why do they need this you ask?

Wives of professional athletes do more than just show up to a few events looking pretty or appearing on reality TV shows. Most of the wives seek no notoriety for themselves but use their position in the community to make a difference. They help their husbands to found foundations and other organizations to bring comfort and social change in the communities where they play. They raise funds and awareness for a multitude of causes.

Think about the teams that you follow and I will bet that you haven't heard much about any of the wives of the players but you may know how that team reaches out to your community. Yep, you guessed it! While their husbands are out making exciting plays and traveling around the country, their wives are holding down the fort at home for their families, and for the community causes.
